Chapter 633: Jasmine’s Spirit

Sometimes love can confuse your thoughts. Cedric was facing the same situation. Although he didn’t doubt Ayra’s character, he didn’t trust the Seth guy. Seth hated them to the core and it was obvious since Cedric married his girlfriend. The strangle around Seth’s throat tightened further until Seth was choking. Cedric’s eyes were turning black slowly, announcing the arrival of his demon soon.

Just then a voice snapped them out, forcing Cedric to interrupt his thoughts away,

" She isn’t here! Let him go, Cedric."

Cedric returned to his senses quickly. Taking a look at his surroundings, he spotted Ethan, his father-in-law at a little distance, accompanied by his assistant angels. All of them looked shocked to see Cedric here in this state. Although others couldn’t pick up his dark aura, Ethan felt the vibe. He just hoped that his demon wouldn’t cause any mascara here.

Cedric dropped Seth on the side and turned himself to greet Ethan,

" Father-in-law, I apologize for my sudden arrival. This matter is urgent."

Ethan indicated at others to leave and took Seth away from there. Seth growled a few times before Cedric cast him a deathly glare. The parties all left except Ethan and Cedric who definitely didn’t look like a father-in-law & son-in-law. Despite being old, Ethan still had the charm of his early handsomeness.

Cedric explained, wearing a troubled expression,

" She is missing. Ayra.. is gone with my dragon. I thought, she was in my realm but I couldn’t find her anywhere. Then he said that she is with him."

Ethan looked stunned for a few seconds. The next moment, he broke into a small smile, noticing the pain and concern in Cedric’s eyes. Ethan asked back, keeping his expression tough,

" Even the demon king can’t find my daughter. Interesting! Did you do anything to upset her?"

Cedric was surprised to see him so calm and natural. He replied, remembering their passionate time just before she disappeared,

" No! We were fine. I am worried that she wouldn’t be able to control my dragon and would fall in danger."

Ethan let out a sigh and walked over to put a hand on Cedric’s shoulders. He then started speaking in a soft voice,

" Ayra is the first born of a vampire and a fairy, Cedric. Her powers are enough to crash half of your kingdom. If she is missing, it has only one meaning that she is staying somewhere intentionally. I am pretty sure that she will find her way back. If she doesn’t return, you know how to find us."

Cedric nodded after giving it a thought. However he still felt upset that she didn’t let him know where she was going. They parted ways after a few more chats but Cedric continued searching without a rush anymore.

________

" Where is this place?"

Ayra asked, wandering her curious eyes over the surroundings. With a snap of his finger, Ralph brought her to a strange place, not having the feeling like the demon realm. Long stones stood next to the standing bushes. Each stone was so big with a cave behind it. The weather was foggy yet not fully clear. The sky was flourishing the space with dim light. The whole place appeared like an illusion, too hard to see through.

Ralph said nothing as he stood facing the lawn trees. His eyes appeared vulnerable as he breathed through his lips slowly. Ayra watched her surroundings carefully. The place gave her the feeling of dizziness. She didn’t like the place but she didn’t hate it either. Swallowing, she waited until Ralph raised his hands slowly. With a small wave of his fingers, a bunch of fireflies came out from the lawn trees. They were exceptionally big but had sparks on their bodies. They wandered happily through the lawn trees.

Ayra was profoundly shocked. She took several steps forward. When she gave a better look at the fireflies, her heart dropped. Swallowing hard, she muttered in disbelief, turning her face to Ralph,

" Mo.. mother...You...you didn’t let her go?"

Ralph’s eyes had already filled with tears. When one of the fireflies flew over to sit on his shoulders, his expression softened. He whispered through his heavy breathing,

" I am sorry..I am too selfish to let her go."

Ayra felt her own eyes tearing up already. Such pure love was rare in this world. Although Jasmine had died, her spirit was kept here only to let Ralph feel the presence of her. The spirit could never talk or never form a body yet her existence meant everything to Ralph. He couldn’t let her spirit enter heaven for rebirth. He was afraid that she would forget him and his memory with her. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Ayra muttered, whipping her head to point the giant standing stones,

" This place..It feels like the human world.. How did you find it?"

Ralph replied without hiding the truth anymore, his eyes watching the dance of the fireflies,

" This place is somewhere between your realm and ours. I made this place with magic just for her..I don’t want her spirit to see the darkness and horror in the Demon Realm."

Ayra gave him a small smile as her tears went down. She really thought that some people were just unlucky in love. Maybe things would have been different if Jasmine had met Ralph first. After understanding his emotions, Ayra couldn’t bear to tell him that he should tell Cedric about this place. At the end, she asked in a friendly manner, touching the fireflies who wandered happily,

" When are you planning to let her go? Lying to your lover is also a sin, father. You can’t keep her imprisoned here forever."

Ralph appeared guilty after her remark. Just when he opened his mouth to say that he would release her spirit before his death, his pet owl made a sudden appearance. The owl spoke in a human voice, slightly panicked,

" My lord! Some demons are upset to know that you let another creature enter our realm freely. They are coming for her."
