Chapter 123: Ronan And Andrea

Ronan tidied up his paperwork and got up from the couch he was sitting on. He left Andrea just like that, making the woman confused. Andrea still wanted to talk with the king.

She also wanted to get his attention. Maybe after talking to her, Ronan could realize that Andrea was smarter and wiser than Arielle. Then, he would know who was the better princess.

"Your Majesty, are you leaving the library?" asked Andrea to which the king did not bother replying.

Andrea didn’t give up easily. She walked faster and cupped her hands in front of her chest.

"Y-Your Majesty, c-can we talk for a second? Ack-" Andrea pretended to nearly slip as she descended the stairs.

However, Ronan didn’t look up at all. Andrea’s face was flushed with embarrassment. She looked around, and there was no one in the library. She sighed gratefully that she didn’t have to be embarrassed.

The woman looked at the back of the distant king. She bit her lip to think. Maybe the man didn’t hear her little scream earlier. Andrea immediately got up and went back to chasing Ronan, who rolled his eyes at the footsteps that followed him from behind.

Andrea stopped in front of the man, suddenly making Ronan halt his steps so as not to hit the princess. Andrea gasped slightly but quickly gave out her sweetest smile.

She knew that her smile had a charisma that men couldn’t ignore. Because in the South, just with her smile, all attention would turn to her. She was used to having men chase after her and try to get her attention.

"Your Majesty, sorry for my impudence... this is my last chance to be in the North. So I really look forward to having a word with you for a bit," she said with her melodious voice.

Ronan began to dislike Andrea’s impudence. He wondered if she didn’t realize she was asking something from him? As a royal princess, she might think she was entitled to special treatment.

However, in his eyes, they were just uninvited royal guests. They should have realized that the North was in no way trying to welcome the two of them.

Ronan looked towards the empty palace garden. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

"What do you want to say?" the man asked, annoyed that his time would be wasted.

"First of all, I want to thank you for the warmth that the North gave to welcome us and for taking such good care of Arielle."

The man’s eyebrows twitched at the mention of Arielle’s name.

"Also, I apologize if during our visit here, my older brother, Prince Alexis, has annoyed you by his words or actions intentionally or unintentionally. Brother Alexis is a good older brother, but I admit his temperament can sometimes be overbearing."

Ronan nodded, he honestly didn’t care. Yesterday he had given the man a stern warning.

"Your Majesty, as a token of my gratitude for a warm meal while the two of us were in the North, may I repay your kindness when you visit Nieverdell one day? Last time only your representatives visited. But it is my hope that you will return to visit Nieverdell, and it will be my pleasure to show you some of the most beautiful places there."

"Done?"

Andrea batted her eyes, feeling confused by the brief question just now. Her smile still lingered. She tried to look inside the mask, and her heart beat very fast as the two red irises stared at her intently.

"Y-Your Majesty, I hope I can repair the rift between North and South after what my brother Alexis did," said Andrea with a blush on her face.

Ronan watched Andrea wringing her handkerchief nervously, and he understood a lot of women’s gestures. The man smirked a little and stepped closer to Andrea. The woman felt her heart flutter and started pounding. She stepped back slowly until her back hit one of the pillars.

Ronan continued to step closer. One of his hands was placed on the side of the woman’s head. Ronan lowered his head slightly so that their faces were on the same level.

"You said you wanted to mend the rift between North and South? Then what would you do?"

Andrea was feeling so nervous now. Her face turned red and met the king’s sharp gaze. "We can start as friends," Andrea answered confidently.

"Then?"

Andrea gave a shy glance to the man in front of her. Their faces were very close now. Andrea had never felt anything like this before, her adrenaline evoked by a man.

So far, all men were very easy to get. As the first princess of Nieverdell, Andrea’s position made her a goddess.

"I haven’t thought about it further, but I think building friendships is the most basic thing," Andrea replied, lying slightly.

She wanted more. Seeing the man who managed to make Alexis grumpy made Andrea want to have him. She was a princess of a great kingdom, she should have gotten someone who was more than an ordinary nobleman.

"Calm down, Princess. You are too naive," the king whispered as if reading Andrea’s thoughts.

"Huh?"

Ronan pulled his body away and stared in amusement at the blushing woman in front of him.

"I don’t understand what you’re trying to say, but I have absolutely no intention of tying myself together with the South." The man’s face hardened, and his gaze showed his distaste for Andrea. "Especially if you dare to touch Arielle."

"Arielle?"

Ronan shrugged his shoulders. He intended to release Arielle from the shackles of the Nieverdell Kingdom. He was investigating what they were planning.

"But Arielle doesn’t have the capacity of a-ugh!"

Before Andrea could finish her words, Ronan had grabbed her by the neck and pressed her against the pillar behind. He didn’t strangle Andrea as hard as he did to Alexis, but enough to startle her and fear for her life.

"Arielle is mine, and I will take her away from the South at all costs. So don’t you, your brother or anyone in the South ever touch Arielle or look down on her. Once again you feel you are better than Arielle and intimidate her, I’ll make sure you won’t ever smile again."
