Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 312: Negative Thoughts
To be honest, even chasing Ronan to become a queen required a lot of effort and courage. Even though she didn’t say it directly, Arielle still had the feeling that she didn’t deserve all of this. Ronan had convinced her many times, but Arielle couldn’t completely brush off her doubts.
Plus, what happened earlier put more weight on her shoulders. Arielle could never do it. She would only disappoint everyone. She didn’t want other people to have high expectations of her. Arielle had nothing to start with and she also had nothing to give back.
How could she be called a descendant of the Moon Goddess when her mother was a slave? Arielle never told Ronan about her mother. If other people found out that Mirabelle was a slave, then they wouldn’t be nice to her anymore, right?
"They certainly don’t want a queen born of a slave," she muttered dejectedly.
Her worries made Arielle’s mind wander and filled with negative thoughts. She looked at the mirror once more. Her face was wet with tears and her eyes were red from the rubbing. Those blue eyes seemed to mock Arielle, and she didn’t know the reason why she was this restless.
A memory of her in the forest came back. Two huge dogs were chasing her. Arielle’s breath started to hitch and her head was filled with the satisfied laughter of Andrea, Annelise, and Archie. That night was so dark and no matter how hard little Arielle asked for help, no one tried to help her.
Little Arielle was getting cornered near an old well. She grabbed a stone and threw it at the two sharp-fanged dogs that kept on cornering her. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
However, her action made the two dogs get even angrier and they barked more loudly at her. Arielle, who could not see her surroundings, stumbled backward and fell into the dry well.
"You can never do it."
"You are just an illegitimate child born from a slave!"
"Who will protect you? You are alone in this world, Arielle!"
Arielle covered her ears when she heard Andrea’s words again. Unknowingly, she grabbed a metal container containing several ribbons on the dresser and threw it in front of the mirror until it shattered to pieces.
PRANK!!!
The sound of the glass breaking brought Arielle’s consciousness to her surroundings. The girl opened her eyes and was surprised to see the broken mirror in front of her. Her hands trembled, not knowing that she was the one who did it.
A frightened Arielle entered the bathroom and rested her back against the bathroom door.
"What happened to me? Why am I suddenly remembering that night after so many years?" After all this time, Arielle believed she couldn’t remember a single thing before.
Arielle also remembered that a man with long white hair like herself helped her from the well. The man then laid Arielle near the entrance of the forest and accompanied her until morning came and the guard found her.
Arielle felt hot. The girl turned on the water to fill the tub, then stripped off her clothes one by one. She needed to cool her head. Maybe this was just an illusion. What she remembered was probably only part of her dream.
Arielle soaked herself in the bathtub while looking through the glass window at the grey sky. Slowly, she closed her eyes, trying to count from one to one hundred to calm her mind.

Arielle didn’t know how many hours she had been in the bathtub. Although she soaked in warm water, staying in water for more than an hour would still make her fingers wrinkle.
However, Arielle had no intention of getting up. She didn’t know how to deal with other people, and she didn’t know what to say if they asked this and that.
Tania would be disappointed with her because she had been defeated by mere emotions. She also broke the mirror and shattered it to pieces. Added to that, Lucas and Kael would also be even more disappointed that she refused to help Northendell.
After soaking for a long time and thinking with a cool head, Arielle could see everything without feeling afraid and panicked.
She should have started to suspect it since her skin wasn’t burned in the fire that even melted an iron during the previous Nieverdell incident, or when she didn’t feel the heat when her index finger touched the wick of a burning candle.
Arielle should be able to discuss it with Ronan properly. If Ronan were here now, perhaps the man would be disappointed by her childish behavior.
Arielle let out a long sigh and leaned back against the side of the bathtub.
"I’ve been waiting outside, hoping you’ll come out on your own."
Arielle straightened up, surprised to see Ronan leaning on the bathroom door.
"Ronan!"
"Should I carry you out, Arielle? You’ve been in the bathroom long enough."
Arielle couldn’t believe the man was here. She thought Ronan would be back later in the afternoon or evening. It was still noon and he should be on his way to pick up Lazarus, right?
"I am asking you, Arielle."
The girl lowered her head in fear.
"I still want to be here," she whispered under her breath.
She was afraid that the man had seen the change in her eyes. She didn’t know how to tell Ronan about it. Everything was too ridiculous and nonsensical.
Arielle waited for Ronan to leave the bathroom and gave her time to think about it before telling everything to him. She rubbed her eyes, hoping her eyes would change back to black.
Ronan came closer and sat on the edge of the tub while holding Arielle’s hands, which kept rubbing her eyes roughly.
"I’ve heard of it. Everything."
Arielle’s body stiffened. Ronan suddenly lifted her body from behind and joined the girl in the bathtub with his pants and shirt still clinging to him. Arielle glanced to the side to see Ronan’s coat scattered on the bathroom floor.
Ronan hugged Arielle from behind and kissed the girl’s bare shoulder gently.
"What are you worried about?" asked Ronan softly.
"I’m scared."
Ronan pulled Arielle’s body to lean on him. "What are you afraid of? I’m already here."
