Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 311: The Burden of Powers
Priest Khan tried to smile reassuringly. The man sat back down on the floor so he wouldn’t be on a higher level than Arielle. He even bent down to lower his head.
"While in the room earlier, I cast out a trigram of fire and Elis cast out a trigram of heat. We set everything as small as possible to see the response of the movement of mana flow within you. However, something happened. Your body was like an amplifier where a small amount of power that we let out got bigger."
Priest Khan took his hand out from the wide part of his sleeve. His hands were red and slightly blistered as if someone had poured hot water on them.
"This was the result of us not being able to accept the power you gave. Our bodies couldn’t hold it all until we were being thrown away to the wall. Then, your body slowly began to glow and floated in the air. That was when the color of your irises changed. The bright blue color of the sky that is only possessed by the descendants of the Moon Goddess whose powers have been unsealed."
Arielle shook her head. "No... this must be a mistake."
"Your Highness! You are our last hope! Please help Thebis and Northendell, Your Highness! Please lift the curse because otherwise... we all have no chance of surviving much longer." Priest Khan kneeled and bowed deeply until his forehead was on the floor.
"Please help us, O Daughter of the great Moon Goddess! Please put an end to the Moon Goddess’ anger towards us!" said another Thebis Priest who also kneeled behind Priest Khan.
Arielle shook her head hastily. She got even more frightened.
"You’re wrong. I don’t understand all of this. I-I can’t do it."
"Your Highness, we beg your help!"
The girl’s tears flowed profusely. She curled up in fear in Tania’s arms. Kael and Lucas tried to take Priest Khan and his followers out of Priest Elis’ room.
"Your Highness!" Priest Khan shouted in despair. "We beg you, Your Highness! Thebis will be drowned by the sand and Northendell will be covered in snow forever if you don’t step in!"
"Please.... s-stop it... I don’t understand any of this."
Lucas saw the discomfort from the princess and ask Kael to help him drag the two Thebisian away. He quickly closed the door after Kael drag them two.

Priest Elis just stayed where he was. For the past few years, Northendell always met a dead end regarding the eternal snow curse that occurred in the North. Ancient records said that only the descendant of the Moon Goddess could lift all those curses.
However, for hundreds of years, they had not seen that glimpse of blessing. They endured the mana that was born in their bodies. The phenomenon of ice melting in Northendell occurred several times.
During the reign of the current king’s great-grandfather and also when King Ronan said that, he saw the area around Arielle melt when the girl fainted in Frostmount Village.
Because they never saw it with their eyes, and there was no clear sign of the whereabouts of the children of the Moon Goddess, everyone was starting to think that these children of the Moon Goddess were just myths and ancient stories that were not true.
Seeing the incident directly earlier made Priest Elis’ eyes open. The blessing of the Goddess definitely existed. Arielle was the only person who could save them all.
Although they had survived for hundreds of years, thanks to the help of mana power. If this continued, then it wasn’t surprising that one day Northendell would be abandoned one by one by its citizens. The number of people with mana was getting less and less every year, and the population needed to survive in extreme weather like this was not small.
One lock had been opened. Princess Arielle could amplify a person’s mana. That unlocked another unsolved mystery. What remained was for Priest Elis to find out more about the children of the Moon Goddess and how to control these powers.
"I... want to go back to my room," Arielle said after wiping her tears.
Without waiting for Tania, Sasha, or Lucas, she quickly left the room.
"From someone who is ordinary and getting news that her existence is something sacred must not be easy for you, Princess," Tania muttered sadly to see Arielle running out of the room.
Priest Elis nodded. "But what Princess Arielle has is not something ordinary," he continued.
Sasha looked at Tania. "But isn’t that cool?" he asked, with sparkling eyes.
Tania nodded. "Right, that’s something extraordinary. But for the Princess, it is something that burdens her greatly."

Arielle ran to her room. Her heart was beating crazily. With unsteady steps, she walked through the room. She even ignored the rabbits who welcomed her. She stopped in front of the mirror and sat on the chair, looking into her blue eyes.
Her tears rolled down her cheeks again. She rubbed her eyes slowly, hoping the color would change again.
"I am nobody. I don’t have any power. This is not me."
Arielle didn’t like her new eyes color. She felt like this was not the real Arielle. She didn’t want to be a... chosen one. The one who had power.... Arielle just wanted to live peacefully, as usual.
One by one, Priest Khan’s words came back to her mind; about the man’s request to lift the curse of Thebis and Northendell. She didn’t even know how to form trigram mana! Her head throbbed painfully. She felt like her head was about to burst.
She rubbed her eyes again and again, but her irises didn’t turn black like before. What if Ronan sees it? What will the man say?
Why is everything so difficult for Arielle? The girl started crying again. Her eyes were red and a bit swollen after she kept rubbing them with her hands. There was a slight scratch on her cheek from hitting the sharp buttons on her wrist as she rubbed her eyes.
"I don’t want this. I can’t do it," Arielle said between her tears.
