Chapter 328: The Informal Announcement

Arielle already thought about it....

Earlier, when they finished cleaning up, Ronan had received a report about a person pretending to be a priest and taking away a farmer’s money. And when Arielle was resting after they made love, Ronan was not fully asleep. The man still received many reports from the palace.

Arielle thought Ronan had really taken a break without doing any work for two days since they were here. However, she was wrong. Ronan kept on working, and the man still spared his time for her. At that time, Arielle could only pretend not to know and closed her eyes.

She really wanted to help him. If the sun could shine on the North again, then it would really help lighten Ronan’s work. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Arielle stared at her palm. She knew nothing, clueless about everything. Priest Elis and Priest Khan educated the people and had a lot of knowledge about her power. Arielle shouldn’t have been overreacting, like yesterday. Her fears and worries made everyone feel disappointed.

And Arielle got a new determination now....

"Ronan, I’ve been thinking about this all day."

The man threw the snack wrapper into the trash can next to the bench where the two of them were sitting. He turned to Arielle, giving his full attention to the girl.

"What is it?" Ronan asked as he fixed a few strands of Arielle’s white hair that had fallen from the bun. It must be because the girl moved around too much when they were in the restaurant earlier.

"About my power... I want to explore it with Priestess Elis."

"Are you sure?" Ronan asked, subconsciously sounding very enthusiastic.

The girl smiled faintly. "If it is true that I have the potential to melt the eternal snow in the North, I will be more willing to help you, Ronan. Because I have thought of the North as my home. However... if in the end, my power proved to be useless, and it is just an ordinary power like Priest Elis, then..."

"You will still be special in my eyes. With or without your power, you are always special."

Ronan cupped Arielle’s face and stroked it gently. The girl chuckled, then nodded.

"But why all of a sudden? I don’t mind if you don’t want it either."

"I’m embarrassed to say it," said the girl, making Ronan pinch her cheeks. Arielle quickly averted her gaze with a red face.

"Um... because after we get married... I will become a queen—" Arielle covered her face with her palms, unable to hold back her embarrassment.

Ronan couldn’t help but smile. The man stood up, then lifted Arielle’s body to let her sit on the bench. Arielle, who was startled by Ronan’s action, grabbed his shoulder so she wouldn’t fall.

Ronan looked up with a subtle smile. "Say it, Arielle. Say it with confidence," he said.

"Say what?"

"You said earlier... What do you want to do after we get married?"

Arielle’s face reddened in an instant. The girl gripped her skirt tightly. Her heart was beating loudly. Arielle was very nervous right now, but she couldn’t go on like this. She had to be brave, and she had to overcome her nervousness. Arielle had done it at Archie’s coronation ceremony.

It wouldn’t be too hard to do it again, right? She thought.

"I-I want to help Northendell as a queen..." she said in a very stiff and low voice.

Ronan bit his lip, trying not to smile. "What are you saying? I can’t hear it," replied the man, making Arielle open her mouth in surprise.

"You heard it!" Arielle accused in a louder voice.

"Now I can hear it more clearly. Now repeat the previous one with a loud voice like that."

Arielle lowered her hand from her mouth. She could hear her heart beating crazily in her ears. She took a deep and long breath to fill her lungs.

With her eyes tightly closed, Arielle shouted. "I WILL BECOME A QUEEN AND MELT NORTHENDELL ETERNAL SNOW WITH MY POWER!!!"

Arielle’s scream echoed throughout the square, making everyone turn their heads toward her. Even the rhythm of the song from the restaurant stopped and some people came out of their houses.

The hustle and bustle of people died down and no slight sound could be heard. It made Arielle not dare to open her eyes, but she was curious.

Arielle straightened herself and slowly opened one of her eyes. Her breath hitched to see many people looking at her with various expressions. Ronan climbed onto the bench and showed the royal crest. Instantly, Arielle and Ronan were surrounded by royal guards.

They were the royal guards who always escorted Ronan and Arielle from a distance. And when Ronan wanted to announce something, the squad leader came right away to guard his king.

"Keep your heads down. You have been blessed by the grace of His Majesty King Ronan D. Blackthorn!" said the squad leader, making everyone lower their heads right away.

"You may raise your heads," Ronan ordered firmly, making the squad leader look quite surprised.

"Your Majesty—"

Ronan waved his hand, asking them to return to their positions. The squad leader nodded in understanding and ordered all his troops to return to their position, standby from a distance, and not interfere with the activities of the local citizens.

One by one, the citizens raised their heads. Some people in the back started whispering to each other, wondering if the person appeared in front of them was really their king.

None of them knew the face of the king, they just know him as a man in a mask. But one or two people there recognized the sharp red-eyed man in front of them. Those who had been to the palace and met the king in person would have recognized those sharp eyes because no one else in Northendell had red irises except the kings.

And now, they also wondered who the woman that was standing beside the king was. They heard her scream loudly about becoming a queen and it sounded ridiculous because most of them didn’t know Arielle.

"I didn’t mean to disturb your evening. I’m not here on royal duty. I’m on a date," Ronan said so casually that everyone there gasped, including Arielle.

Ronan grabbed Arielle’s hand. "While there are many people here, I want to announce something. Let me introduce her, Princess Arielle, my fiancée and the future Queen of Northendell."
