Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 327: The Sailor’s Song
"You’re handsome. Why do you cover your face?" asked the boy.
The child’s mother immediately dragged her son back and apologized to Arielle and Ronan.
"There, play outside with the others," she said, making the boy grumble in annoyance. Then she turned to the couple. "I’m sorry about my child. I hope you enjoy your food."
Arielle just smiled and went back to eating her dinner.
"This is delicious. Do you like your food?" she asked Ronan. The man nodded and finished his food in an instant. Arielle ate her food contentedly, then she drank a glass of warm orange drink.
"What are we going to do after this?" asked Arielle, cupping her face on the table while looking at the crowd in front of her.
"I will fulfill every wish of... my wife," replied Ronan by stressing the word my wife. Instantly, Arielle’s cheeks tinged with red hues.
She turned her head as the people on the side of her table started stomping their feet along as the music grew louder. The dim crowd was replaced by the beat of the music and the applause of everyone in the restaurant.
"I know this song!" Arielle said.
It was a sailor’s song. Arielle stood up to see a bunch of people in the other corner of the restaurant, wearing blue vests.
"They are Lazarus’ men. It’s a song they often play," Ronan replied and smiled seeing Arielle’s enthusiastic face.
La la la la laa.
La la la la laaaa...
Arielle sat back and clapped her hands cheerfully. Some women started to stand up and stomped their feet on the floor to the beat of the music. Two hands holding beer intertwined. Foot stomping left and right. Every time the beat ended, everyone raised their drinks with cheers!
Making a cheer song, sailing it across the sea.
Beers on our hands as we sail through the breeze.
Far across the horizon, the sun is shining merrily.
As the birds fly in the sky as we always sing out with glee.
The beat was getting faster. The chubby restaurant owner sitting behind the piano made the atmosphere get even more festive. Arielle started singing along while clapping her hands. Suddenly, her hand was pulled by the woman, inviting her to dance in the middle of the restaurant with other women and children.
The woman was clapping her hands. She gave the stage for Arielle to sing the verse while raising her orange juice. Then, her hand was grabbed by the woman and her feet were stomping along with the rhythm.
Arielle sang louder for the second verse. Every time she swirled her body, she looked at Ronan, making sure he was still there with her. Arielle gave a cheerful laugh when she saw the man sitting with one hand on the table.
La la la la la laaa.
La la la la laaaa...
Making a cheer song, sailing it across the sea.
Sailing on from dusk ’til dawn and singing out as one.
After all the songs are done, we all end up as one.
Tales that no one tells, the journey has just begun!
Arielle drank the rest of the orange juice as everyone drank their beers. The sound of boisterous cheers ended the verse of the song. However, the party still went on.
Lazarus’ crew was still stomping their feet for the same song a second time. The woman kept asking Arielle to come back to dance, but Arielle refused and wanted to go back to Ronan.
The girl smiled cheerfully towards Ronan, who had been sitting, watching her with a wide smile. Arielle came closer and hugged Ronan tightly.
"Did you enjoy your evening, my wife?" asked the man. He hugged Arielle back.
"Yes, it is fantastic," she replied breathlessly from singing too much.
"What else do you want to do, my wife?"
Arielle slapped Ronan’s shoulder lightly. "Stop it, I didn’t have much of an excuse right now. There’s no way I can bear to say that you are my bodyguard again."
Ronan chuckled and tightened his grip on the girl’s waist. "I like it," he replied honestly.
"Actually... it’s making me hungry again," Arielle said quietly.
"As expected. Do you want to order more food?"
"I wanted to buy yesterday’s snack. You should try it! It was so delicious!"
***
Arielle and Ronan walked towards the snack shop they visited yesterday while holding hands. This time there were no children like yesterday. She ordered one crepe with Frostberry for her and another one with peanut butter for Ronan.
The two of them sat on a bench in the square while enjoying their crepes. The moon above them was dazzling. The sound of the thumping rhythm of the song from the restaurant could be heard faintly, and the crowd invited even more people to come in.
Luckily, they were both out. Ronan didn’t want to imagine himself in such a crowd anymore.
"How did you know the song?" Ronan asked Arielle who was sitting beside him.
"People in the South often sing it. I didn’t know it was a sailor’s song, though," she replied simply because her mouth was still full of the crepe.
"You really enjoyed it earlier."
Arielle laughed lightly. "Of course. At Nieverdell, we are known for our love of festivals. Father has many children and almost every member of the royal family’s birthday would be celebrated with a festival. During the festival, many people gather in the capital, and I always sing that song with the children in the market."
Ronan grabbed Arielle’s hand and slipped his fingers between her hand, making the girl turn around. "When you become my wife later. I will celebrate your birthday with the entire citizens of Northendell. I will arrange the best festival on the entire continent just for you."
"You’re over the top," replied Arielle, holding back her laughter at Ronan’s serious face.
"Over the top? Of course not. You deserve it."
Arielle did not reply. She was busy chewing her snack until there was nothing left.
"It’s not snowing tonight," said Arielle, looking at the road which was much cleaner than usual. Usually, there would be a lot of snow on the side of the road, but it was pretty clean today.
If the sun could shine in the North, it might lessen Ronan’s burden so he could relax like this more often.
Arielle already thought about it....
