Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 333: Old Tale of Northendell
This story was about the first king of Northendell. He had succeeded in conquering many small kingdoms and built this great kingdom, Northendell Kingdom. One of the minor kings that the first king Northendell had conquered gave his daughter to become a queen as a sign of peace. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
the King continued to expand his power until now he met a magical kingdom located on Mount Birwick. Then, when the king went to conquer the kingdom that occupied Mount Birwick, he fell in love with a woman. A white-hair beauty and a pair of sparkling blue eyes.
Mount Birwick had always been a sacred place since ancient times. To protect his small kingdom, Mount Birwick’s king tried to make a deal with our king. He offered his daughter to marry off as long as the first king did not disturb Mount Birwick forever.
Coincidentally the woman he met and fell in love with was the daughter of king Birwick. Without any protest, He accepted the offer and then brought the beautiful princess to the palace. He took her as a concubine because he already had a queen, to begin with.
The king, who was obsessed with the beauty of the princess, was blinded by his love to the point of forgetting the existence of the queen. Seeing that the queen showed her jealousy made the princess even more uncomfortable. Life in the palace was torture for her.
Out of pity, the king gave the princess the opportunity to return to Mount Birwick in every full moon. However, a few months later, the princess never came back.
The king was furious and chased the princess to take her back, but when he arrived at Mount Birwick, he did not find the princess. The king destroyed the kingdom of Mount Birwick with his troops in rage.
However, the princess never really left. She just didn’t want to come back and live on the far end of the mountain with her long-separated lover. The king, who knew that the princess had a lover other than himself, killed the man in front of the princess’s eyes.
Overwhelmed with regret and anger, she stole the heart of Mount Birwick, which was the center of this continent’s power. She kept running in pursuit of the king until she arrived at a small kingdom. It was Thebis. After she left, Northendell started to be filled with snow and the king kept looking for her to ask the princess to return to Northehdell and remove all the snow that covered Northendell’s land.
After months and months of pursuit. The king finally found her but the princess refused to come with him.
He killed the princess with deep rage and jealousy. However, the princess didn’t die right away. With her last power, she burned herself along with the heart of Mount Birwick.
The power of the eternal flame which burned everything down pushed the king’s army back. The people in the kingdom were also burned and before she disappeared into ashes, the princess cursed the king’s descendants to become half-wolves because...
Priest Louise could not continue his story. "Princess Cecil’s lover, who was killed by my ancestor, was a werewolf. That’s why we worship the Moon Goddess, asking the Moon Goddess to ease Princess Cecil’s anger. And it looks like now there is a possibility for that. That is by quelling the eternal flame and returning the heart of Mount Birwick to its original place," Ronan added.
"Mount Birwick... has a kingdom?" Arielle asked with a frown.
"Like I said before. These are just stories. Nobody really knows for sure. The incident happened hundreds of years ago. Even the ruins couldn’t be found. Maybe it had been buried deep by the thick snow of Mount Birwick."
Ronan once said that Mount Birwick was always guarded by priests because of many legendary and rare creatures inhabited there. One example was a group of dragons that attacked the castle ten years ago. Ronan chased them to their lair on Mount Birwick and he killed one dragon.
"Then... what should I do now?"
Priest Louise turned around and smiled kindly. "You don’t have to do anything, Princess. It’s as His Majesty the King said earlier that you will only train to learn your powers after your coronation as a queen," Priest Louise replied.
"And I’m here to see if you’ll come to bless our wedding. In three weeks," Ronan chimed in, making Priest Louise chuckle.
"Of course, Your Majesty," the old man replied.
After talking about their wedding once again, Arielle and Ronan did not go straight to the palace because Priest Louise invited them to have lunch together.
While waiting for the maid to prepare the food, Ronan spent his time reading the thick book that Priest Louise had taken earlier. Meanwhile, priest Louise invited Arielle to accompany him to the backyard. The old man wanted to show her something.
In the backyard, there was a simple greenhouse with many kinds of plants that were impossible to grow in Northendell. The ground that Arielle stepped on was also decorated with neatly trimmed grass that reminded her of spring in Nieverdell.
"Wow... this is fantastic," said Arielle who was mesmerized by the colorful flowers.
"This is where I teach the apprentices. I don’t have a lot of strength to go back to teaching in the Cathedral. Do you know, Princess? These flowers were able to grow because I put gemstones filled with mana. Therefore, the soil was warm and loose so that plants can thrive."
Priest Louise took out a gemstone from the corner. Arielle remembered Priest Jill once said that heat or light could be stored in crystal stones.
"Your power is almost similar to these gemstones," said Priest Louise, making Arielle, who was busy admiring the flowers in front of her, turned around. "These gemstones absorb power from us, then store it inside. We can bring it out anytime if needed. However, the difference is that your power is multiple times stronger than these mere gemstones."
"Priest Louise, when Priest Khan and Priest Elis touched me, my strength seemed to be out of control. Whereas when you touched me earlier, nothing happened?"
"Ah... Priest Khan and Priest Elis are still young. Their curiosity made them both want to explore your power to the limit and opened your mana flow without realizing it," said Priest Louise.
