Chapter 344: Sasha’s And Crimson’s Parents

News about the engagement of King Northendell and a Princess from the kingdom of Nieverdell began to spread. Ronan read the main page of the newspaper with satisfaction. He just had to wait for the reaction of the citizens and royal officials.

"You did a good job," Ronan said, then returned the paper to William.

"Then, can we start the preparations? I can call some designers so that Princess Arielle’s wedding dress can be completed soon."

Ronan brought out several other to-do lists that William had to do. William read the list for a moment.

"Don’t you want to appoint a personal assistant for the princess to make it easier for her to do all of this?"

Ronan had thought about it. Normally, a female member of the royal family would have a personal assistant other than her maid. Tania was also too old to help and assist Arielle all the time. However, he had no other female acquaintances who were suitable to be Arielle’s personal assistant.

For now, Ronan would appoint Lucas to help Tania.

"I still haven’t found a suitable person to be the candidate," Ronan replied. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

"What about Miss Aimee?" William asked, making Ronan almost burst out laughing.

"You’re kidding, right, William?"

"Um... not really. I met Miss Aimee once, and she looked different from her old self."

Miss Aimee? Aimee was Kael’s younger sister. The girl was far from graceful, almost like her older brother, Kael. With the name Aimee, the girl had a gallant and intimidating impression.

Ronan remembered the girl had nearly broken Lazarus’ arm because he would not stop teasing her as a giant girl. Indeed, Aimee used to be quite fat compared to other girls her age. Plus, her tomboyish attitude that always irked Kael to fight like a man, made Lazarus even more persistent in teasing her.

Ronan had not seen the girl in recent years. He did not know the latest news about the girl. Kael never told him, either.

"Oh, really? What is that kid doing now?"

William shrugged. "I don’t know. But what I heard from Kael was that she was going to be betrothed to Marquess Loid, and she tried to run away from home several times."

Ronan nodded, then stopped talking about Aimee. He would let this go for the time being. For now, Tania and Lucas were enough. He didn’t want Arielle’s focus to be split by the new people surrounding her.

"I’ll think about it again."

William received another task from Ronan. When he was about to leave the room, he crossed paths with Lazarus, who brought the latest news. The man came breathlessly.

"Ronan! Like I said before! Sasha and Crimson are Viscount Ferdi’s children!" cried Lazarus excitedly.

Ronan moved his index finger to ask Lazarus to come closer. He didn’t want his head to burst out from hearing Lazarus’ discordant screams. William, who was about to leave, gave up his intention and joined Lazarus.

"So? How could that be?" he asked.

"This is crazy! You won’t believe it, William! Did you remember our party where I told you I liked someone who already had a boyfriend? Her name was Cathy, and at that time, she already had a relationship with Viscount Ferdi. When they wanted to get married, Viscount Ferdi’s family didn’t give them approval because she only came from a lowly inn owner’s family."

"Then?"

"And it turns out that she was already pregnant with a child! Because she didn’t want to burden Viscount Ferdi, Cathy didn’t tell him where the kid was, and guess what Cathy did?"

"Left the child in an orphanage?" he asked.

"Bingo!"

After that, Lazarus continued his story about Cathy and Viscount Ferdi reuniting after a few years. Viscount Ferdi became the successor of his family in place of his deceased father.

However, Cathy was no longer the Cathy she used to be. Her family was in debt and she was forced to work in a brothel to continue living.

After knowing of Cathy’s condition, Viscount Ferdi decided to become Cathy’s customer. Lazarus raised both his hands to form quotes.

"Said to protect Cathy from a jerk." Lazarus continued.

"But you still slept with her?" William asked in disbelief.

Lazarus nodded confidently. "Well, maybe Viscount Ferdi didn’t have good stamina and techniques. Or the money that the man gave was not enough to cover her family’s debts."

"Can we continue with the main topic?" Ronan asked. He didn’t want to hear about Lazarus’ endless sex experiences.

Lazarus nodded and continued his story. After a long relationship, Cathy was pregnant again, and she still had fears in the past about Viscount Ferdi’s family rejecting her. Thus, she asked Lazarus to take care of Viscount Ferdi’s daughter.

Lazarus continued his story where Cathy ran away from Viscount Ferdi, and a few months later, the man found Cathy in the capital and asked the girl to marry him again. With his family no longer controlling his life, Viscount Ferdi had the power to choose the woman that would become his wife.

Viscount Ferdi loved Cathy so much that he didn’t care about Cathy’s background, who once had worked in a brothel.

"Then, why did that woman named Cathy abandon Crimson? It’s Viscount Ferdi’s daughter."

"She said it was because she still had the trauma that Viscount Ferdi’s family would reject her again."

"What a crazy story," said William, not believing that anyone like that existed.

"How do you know all of that?" Ronan asked.

"Directly from Cathy."

William turned to Lazarus in surprise. "You get all the information by sleeping with her again!?"

"Are you crazy?!" Lazarus replied. He did not accept William’s accusation. "I still have pride not to touch a woman who is already in a serious relationship with someone. I only threatened her a little about Sasha and Crimson’s whereabouts, and Cathy told me all of that while she was crying and begging me not to tell Viscount Ferdi."

Ronan leaned back against the back of his chair. The woman didn’t seem to have any intention of taking her children back. Maybe Ronan could tolerate Sasha, but not Crimson.

His reason was no longer because he hated babies. Crimson still needed a mother figure. Besides, Ronan didn’t want Arielle’s attention to be split on Crimson.

Not that Ronan was jealous, but Arielle was determined to study harder about her power. He didn’t want the girl to exhaust herself by worrying about Crimson’s condition while she had to study her power.

Viscount Ferdi’s family was wealthy enough to provide for the needs of their children. They could even send their children to the academy for a better future.
