Chapter 368: Taking Care For Ronan (2)

Ronan spent hours sleeping until the night fell. Sometimes, William came to visit to make sure everything was okay. Tania also came to bring Arielle’s dinner.

"Is everything all right, Princess?" William asked, looking at Ronan, who was lying limply on his bed.

Tania went back to her room after waiting for Arielle finishing her dinner. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Arielle didn’t know what to say. "I’m not sure myself, William. It feels so strange to see him sick like this."

William smiled, trying to calm Arielle who was always worried.

"I know how you feel. Ronan always walked back and forth like a hurricane. He looks amazingly strong and unaffected by anything out there. Seeing him weak like this doesn’t look like the Ronan we know, right?"

Arielle nodded in agreement with William’s words.

"Perhaps you get tired of hearing these words, but I’m serious. You don’t have to worry, Princess. Ronan is not someone who will easily fall because of a fever. That man can decapitate a dragon, and I am the witness. There’s no way he could lose to a fever like this."

William looked at Ronan for a long time. What he said were not just words to comfort the princess, but to reassure himself that his friend would get well soon.

He had seen Lazarus sick many times. Lazarus used to stay in the sea with the sun shining brightly, so when he returned to the land covered in snow, he got sick easily.

The man’s body couldn’t withstand the sudden extreme temperature change. And his habit of partying late at night made it easy for him to catch a cold. So seeing Lazarus sick was not something to worry about.

Kael was the same. Although it wasn’t as often as Lazarus, the man had a fever once a year like him. It was just that Ronan... who had never been touched by any kind of illness.

Ronan might had a headache several times because of Lazarus’ behavior, but that didn’t count....

Maybe this was because Ronan had Arielle right now, his body believed that he had found someone he could depend on to take care of him when he was sick. That was why Ronan chose to fall ill at a time like this.

William took out his pocket watch.

"Ah, it’s time for me to get back to work. Oh, by the way, Princess, I’m here to talk about tomorrow," William said, and Arielle turned to the man, waiting for William to say what he wanted to talk about.

"There will probably be a snowstorm tonight and tomorrow. And before tomorrow morning... we have to secure Ronan first," William said, making Arielle let out a long sigh.

"Since morning?"

William nodded. "The procedure is always like that."

"Is the room warm enough?" Arielle asked. She was worried that Ronan’s condition would get worse if he was placed in a colder place.

She didn’t want the man’s fever to get worse.

"There is a special room in the basement of the Cathedral. Some priests are on standby to warm the room."

"Can I stay with him?"

William smiled faintly, then he shook his head. "Ronan would not want you to see him in that condition. Kael, Lazarus, and I will take good care of him."

Arielle nodded in understanding. If William, Kael, and Lazarus were taking care of Ronan by themselves, then Arielle was a little relieved. With the three of them with him, Ronan wouldn’t be lonely while waiting for the night.

"Please make sure his fever doesn’t get worse," Arielle reminded William, and the man nodded.

"Leave everything to me, Your Highness."

"Thank you, William. I entrust him to you."

William smiled broadly. The man then bowed respectfully before leaving the room because there was other work that had to be done immediately. After he left the room, William let out a long sigh. He was really jealous of his king who could get Arielle as a partner.

He was sure that there were many women out there who were also kind and sincere, but he was a little skeptical if there was a noblewoman who was like the princess. Maybe even Aimee... couldn’t be like Arielle either.

"Well... where can I get a princess for myself?" he muttered in the empty hallway.

William suddenly remembered Arielle’s sisters, then he frowned. Princess Andrea or Annalise was not the one he was referring to. The man ruffled his hair. This wasn’t the time to think about women.

Arielle sat on the couch while reading her book. From the window where she rested, she could see the snow falling heavily. She had a feeling since this afternoon that there would be a snowstorm tonight.

There was a knock on the bedroom door, and a doctor came to visit with Priest Elis. They greeted Arielle, and Arielle gave space for both of them to check on Ronan’s condition.

"How is he, Doctor?" Arielle asked as the doctor frowned.

"It looks like tonight I need to prescribe a stronger potion. I was sure that His Majesty’s condition had improved this afternoon, but tonight his condition got worse again, like two days ago."

Arielle looked at Ronan who didn’t seem bothered by the three of them. Usually, if there was the slightest movement, Ronan would wake up, then the man would look for her. Now, Ronan was still asleep with sweat dripping down his forehead. Arielle rushed to wipe the beads of sweat with a clean cloth.

"I trust you, Doctor Adan," said Arielle, who took a step back so that Priest Elis could lower Ronan’s body temperature.

The doctor then opened a large bag he was carrying. There were some medicines, bottles of potions, as well as herbs that he brought with him. He took a box containing a syringe filled with medicinal liquid.

Arielle, who had never seen an injection before, frowned as the doctor inserted a sharp needle into Ronan’s hand where his pulse was.

Priest Elis, who had finished his task, turned to Arielle.

"It’s all right, Princess. This is a normal response," he said.
