Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 367: Taking Care Of Ronan (1)
Arielle remembered about Aimee’s annoyance when the girl said she didn’t want to meet Lazarus. That man was one of the reasons why she didn’t like men. She told Arielle about her past, where Lazarus kept making fun of her fat body. Maybe sometimes William and Kael would help her from Lazarus’s bullies while Ronan didn’t really care.
Aimee also asked Arielle not to tell anything about her to Lazarus. That girl still had a grudge against the man.
"Did Aimee accept your offer, Your Highness? When will she start working?" Lazarus asked impatiently.
"Eh... Miss Aimee did accept my offer, but as to when she starts work is up to His Majesty the King. I only received the answer from her," Arielle answered it honestly, trying not to take sides.
Lazarus didn’t stop asking Arielle questions. He didn’t catch how uncomfortable Arielle’ face looked. "Did Aimee tell you something? Like she misses her older brother apart from Kael, like me or William?"
"No, she said she met with William a few months ago, but she didn’t say anything about you."
That was the truth Arielle told him.
Lazarus scowled in annoyance.
"I’ll pull her cheeks to make them get wider later when we meet again," he muttered, making Arielle smile awkwardly.
Seeing that Lazarus was busy with his own thoughts, Arielle strode away because she wasn’t sure she could endure hearing Lazarus’ lamentations. She was more worried about Ronan’s condition than about listening to Lazarus’s story of not being able to meet Aimee. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
Even when Lazarus called out to her, Arielle continued to walk briskly, pretending not to hear the man’s shouts at all.
Arielle arrived at the same time when Priest Elis had checked Ronan’s body temperature. She frowned confusedly at the various kinds of small bottles that were lined up on the table.
"Good afternoon, Princess," William said, cleaning the small bottles belonging to Priest Elis.
"What are these bottles for?" Arielle asked in confusion.
"His Majesty said he smelled an unfamiliar scent, but he couldn’t identify it, so I brought some plants that the king might recognize."
Arielle turned to Ronan, who looked even paler but what made she relieved was his body temperature was not as high as before.
"How’s Aimee? Did she accept our offer?" Ronan asked to distract Arielle from worrying too much about him.
Ronan was just checking what kind of scent he smelled earlier. However, when he sniffed it again from Arielle’s body, Ronan couldn’t smell the scent earlier. So, he thought he was just hallucinating.
And after he checked it with Priest Elis, Ronan couldn’t find anything he could remember about the addictive smell earlier.
William felt he was no longer needed. Arielle had arrived, and he had to return to work because Ronan had warned him to finish the work before the man recovered.
Arielle sat beside Ronan on the bed.
"Aimee said she would accept the job you offered," she replied.
"Good. What if Aimee starts working after I recover later?" he asked.
Arielle nodded in agreement. Ronan could see the sadness on Arielle’s face. And he knew what Arielle was worried about. Ronan got up while removing the wet cloth on his forehead. He put his forehead on her so he could look at her eyes directly.
"Hey, what’s wrong? You look sad."
"I’m just worried about tomorrow."
Ronan grabbed Arielle’s face and Arielle could feel the man’s temperature slowly rising through Ronan’s palm that touched the skin of her cheeks.
"Seriously, Sweetheart. My condition is not as bad as you think. There’s nothing strange about this common cold."
"Then what about your sense of smell? Priest Elis said that you smelled an unusual scent earlier?"
Ronan touched his nose while thinking for a moment. He brought his face close to Arielle’s neck and sniffed it a few times, making Arielle jump in surprise.
"What is it?" she asked confusedly when Ronan suddenly sniffed her body.
"Ah, looks like it was just my hallucination."
Arielle frowned. She still didn’t understand the man’s words.
"Earlier, before you went out to meet Miss Aimee. I kind of smell... the sweet scent from your body?
Ronan replied. He wasn’t too sure what he had smelled earlier. Ronan remembered that the scent was not only sweet, but fresh. He had never smelled that kind of scent before. The sensation made Ronan almost lose his mind. It felt like he was swept away by the scent to a place where spring arrived.
And Ronan found that scent from Arielle’s body. However, when Ronan sniffed the girl again, he only found her natural body scent wrapped in the sweet scent of the perfume she used. Arielle’s scent made Ronan addicted, but the scent before made Ronan feel like he was flying on cloud nine.
"Sweet? Where did it come from?"
"I’m not sure, but I think it came from your body."
Arielle raised her hand to sniff her body, and she didn’t find any strange scent. She also used the same perfume. Nothing was different.
"I don’t smell anything different from my body."
"Well, you don’t have to worry about that thing. Now, come here. Stay with me for a while." Ronan pulled Arielle’s body to lie down with him. He hugged her tightly so the girl wouldn’t leave before he fell asleep.
Arielle also laid down, forgetting the strangeness that Ronan experienced. She didn’t know what had happened. Maybe Priest Elis had the answer later.
After Ronan fell asleep, Arielle released herself from Ronan’s arms to have lunch and read her book. She checked the man’s temperature several times. He had a fever again. Ronan’s face started to turn red with heavy breaths. Arielle took the initiative to put the cloth on the man’s forehead, so his body temperature did not rise too high.
Ronan blinked his eyes, feeling a fresh sensation touch his forehead. He felt hot even though he had changed into looser clothes. After making sure Arielle was beside him, he closed his eyes again to go back to sleep.
