Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 372: Story of Amadea And Cecil
The wolf opened his eyes briefly without lifting his face. He gave Arielle a sideways glance, looking disinterested.
"I am the guardian of this mountain, and Cecil is my mate."
The guardian? Then Arielle shouldn’t disturb him any longer.
Mate? Arielle wanted to ask again, but the wolf turned his back to Arielle. It seemed the wolf didn’t want to talk to her anymore. She chose to return to where she came from.
However, before she got out of that place, she saw an elegant woman with a white dress and long shiny platinum hair hanging down to the ground. Arielle’s heart was beating hard.
When Arielle passed her, the woman put on a very beautiful smile.
"Nice to meet you, Arielle," the woman greeted Arielle in a voice as calm as the surface of the water. She then took out her flute and started playing it.
The woman approached the wolf, then she sat near its head. The wolf lifted its head and placed it on the woman’s lap. The breeze was so calming. The music from the flute blended with the sounds of nature, creating a very beautiful melody for Arielle.
Arielle’s eyes widened when she saw the wolf transformed into a man. She could not see the man’s face because he was facing backwards. Arielle only saw that the man had shoulder-length black hair with a red sun on his back.
He was a god....
Someone touched her shoulder. Arielle turned around and found the same old man that had helped her when she was a child.
"Nice to meet you again, Arielle. I think I had told you not to set foot on the holy land," he said kindly, making Arielle confused.
"Ah, it looks like your power has been unlocked." The man touched the side of Arielle’s face, and he looked at her with pity. "And it was done by force."
The old man then stretched out his hand, asking Arielle to follow him. "Let’s talk in the same place as before," he asked, and Arielle just nodded at the old man’s invitation.
The two of them walked down a path. The place was so lush and green. Arielle felt déjà vu again. She could hear some crickets in the distance. The night was so quiet and peaceful that Arielle could hear their footsteps.
Arielle looked back to see that the woman and the wolf had disappeared. Then, she arrived at a lake which was wider than the lake in Nieverdell.
"Mister, I’m sorry for being presumptuous, but where are we right now?" Arielle asked. She felt she had visited this place before, but she couldn’t remember it clearly. Arielle realized that there was no place like this in Northendell because most of the places in Northendell were covered in snow.
"Ah, hohoho... I almost forgot that I locked your memories of your first visit."
The man named Otis touched Arielle’s forehead, and suddenly all of her memories came like a flash of lightning. Arielle had a hard time digesting the memories. It took a long time before she grasped everything.
This was Mount Birwick. Arielle had a dream about this place when she was unconscious after being caught in a snowstorm. Arielle did not think that she would dream of going to this place again.
"Do you remember it now?" Otis asked.
Arielle gasped for breath, trying to calm herself because of the surge of memories that came to her head. Then, the girl nodded slowly.
"I purposely locked your memories so you don’t panic when you wake up. And now... as your powers have been unlocked, I hope you can have a more open mind."
"Is... this really Mount Birwick?" Arielle asked.
Otis nodded. "We are in the same place. Mount Birwick is a sacred place, one of the foundations of the Forsham Continent. Humans shouldn’t set foot in this place... but hundreds of years ago, humans’ greed violated the rule. Thus, Mount Birwick decided to hide itself by covering it with snow."
"To ordinary humans, Mount Birwick is just a mountain full of mysteries. It is dark and untouched with a heap of snow, which is much thicker than anywhere else. That’s how we protect this place so that it remains a holy place."
"Sir Otis, are you a real human?’
The old man laughed again and nodded.
"Of course I’m a real human. I live like you. I still need to eat and drink to keep living," he replied.
Arielle remembered what the man had said on her first visit. The man said that the two of them were descendants of the Moon Goddess. Thus, what Priest Elis, Priest Louise, and Priest Khan said was true. She was one of the descendants of the Moon Goddess. Arielle had confirmed it herself.
"You must be very confused right now," Otis said.
Arielle nodded.
"Hm... we have plenty of time. You can ask me anything, Arielle," Otis said kindly.
Arielle thought for a moment, then snapped her fingers. "You said you lived like a normal human, right? Does that mean you need sleep too?"
Otis chuckled, not expecting Arielle to ask that kind of question. However, he still answered it.
"Of course, I’m the same as you, a human. I also have a place to live. You just haven’t been able to visit yet. You can only come to this holy land. If you want to visit my place, you can come with your body, not only your soul."
"Is that true? Can I visit your place?"
Otis frowned slightly. "Of course you can, because you’re a part of this place. If it is someone else, they will definitely freeze to death before reaching the gate. However, it’s better if you wait for my invitation."
Arielle smiled broadly. "I will look forward to it, Sir Otis. You have no idea how much I’m curious about Mount Birwick an... and... this mysterious power on my body."
Otis laughed at Arielle’s burning enthusiasm. The man looked at their reflection on the surface of the water.
"Lord Otis, who exactly were the two people I saw earlier?"
"Those two are the true guardians of Mount Birwick. They are the first descendant of the Moon Goddess, Princess Cecil from Birwick and God Amadea, the first ruler of Mount Birwick. The two of them were mates who had been betrothed by the faith long before they were born. However, humans greed separated them, and that place was where their souls meet every full moon."
"Amadea?"
"Did you see the sun symbol on his back when he turned into a human?"
Arielle nodded. "That is a sign that he is one of the descendants of the sun god."
Otis said that the gods had their own rules. The Sun God was the highest god who governed all that happened on the earth. The Moon Goddess was the sister of the Sun God who was in charge of reviving all living beings.
The Sun God created other gods who were in charge of guarding everything on the earth, and Amadea was the god who guarded Mount Birwick. As time passed, the Moon Goddess wanted to create a woman to accompany Amadea, but her power was not as great as that of the Sun God.
Thus, she only entrusted part of herself to the babies born on the earth. The Moon Goddess chose Princess Cecillia from the kingdom of Mount Birwick to be the first human blessed with her power.
