Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 373: Amadea’s Curse
"Then, who are they? Are they still alive?" Arielle asked about the woman named Cecil and Amadea.
"The people you met earlier were just their souls because their bodies had long disappeared."
"Oh? Then... can a god die?" Arielle asked again.
"Gods and goddesses are immortal, but they have the choice to die or not. Nothing can hurt them other than their own will. Amadea chose to end his own life."
There were so many questions in Arielle’s head right now.
"Sir Otis, was Amadea unable to control his wolf form every full moon night too?"
Arielle remembered Ronan. Gosh, Ronan! Arielle just remembered about that man! Ronan was sick right now, and his transformation time was just a few hours away.
"Are you talking about the curse of the king of Northendell?"
Arielle looked up. "Do you know anything about the curse, Sir Otis?"
"Hm... I will answer your previous question first . Amadea originated from a wolf. He could transform himself as a human whenever he wanted to, and he didn’t lose control in the full moon like the descendant of the king of Northendell. What the descendant of the king of the north experienced is... it’s a curse that Amadea gave to the first king of Northendell."
The curse was from Amadea himself? Arielle remembered Priest Louise’s story about the royal of princess Birwick who cursed the descendant of the North before she burned herself with the heart of Mount Briwick.
When Arielle asked Otis about it, the man just shook his head. "That is a story for another time. What you need to know is, Amadea did the same as what his aunt, The Moon Goddess, did, giving a part of himself to a human baby. However, they had different purposes. The Moon Goddess blessed Princess Cecil to accompany Amadea, while Amadea did it so that the king’s descendants would kill each other."
And Amadea got what he wanted. Sometimes, there were descendants of the red-eyed king who killed their own brother when they turned into a wolf. Some killed the citizens, some were killed by their own knights, and some also slaughtered their wife and children... Like what happened to Ronan’s family in the past.
Arielle covered her mouth in disbelief. So what had happened to Ronan was the result of hatred in the past?
"Then, will the curse of hatred continue to be passed down?"
"Until the bloodline of the first king runs out," he replied, making Arielle speechless.

Arielle listened attentively to everything Otis said. That old man also explained the reason why the wolf side of the king came out every full moon. Everything became clear for Arielle now. The answer to all the mysteries that happened to Ronan had found its light.
"Amadea cursed the descendant of the king in the same way the Moon Goddess bestowed Princess Cecil. He planted part of himself in the king’s offspring. However, because the child was not prepared to become a vessel for the power of a god, every full moon where the moon shined in its brightest phase, the true side of Amadea came out. His only goal... was to find his own mate."
Mate? Arielle heard that word again. She had never known the term of mate before.
"Mate? What is Mate?" Arielle asked curiously.
"Mate... is a sacred bond the fate has made, and it is non-negotiable. Usually, the Moon Goddess creates a mate for animals, not humans, because animals don’t have good intellect like humans, so they often can’t differentiate their partners."
"Isn’t Princess Cecil a human?"
Otis nodded in approval. "Princess Cecil was indeed a human, but the Moon Goddess gave her a special power so that Amadea could recognize her as a partner. The bonds between two different races were extremely rare."
"Do all the descendants of the Moon Goddess have werewolves as their mate?"
"Not all of them. I once met one of the descendants of the first king of Northendell who had no mate. Hm... maybe the great-grandfather of the current king."
Arielle gasped in disbelieve. "Oh! Are you the mysterious man who suddenly disappeared back then?!"
Otis tilted his head in confusion. "Who?’ he asked.
After Arielle told about the mysterious man who had similar powers like him and suddenly disappeared. Otis chuckled.
"Hohoho, it was indeed me. To think that you named me a mysterious man... I clearly told them my name was Otis."
"Then what happened? Why did you suddenly disappear?"
"I neither disappeared nor ran away. The king and one of the priestess took me back to Birwick, but I’ll tell you that story another time."
Arielle sighed in relief. For some reason, she was very, very relieved that she let out a light sigh. Like the night wind that blew softly, Arielle’s heartbeat slowed down after hearing that. She was glad because she was not the only one who had this power.
"The reason I called you here is to talk about this, Arielle."
The old man’s hand moved on the surface of the water. The calm water rippled slightly. Arielle gasped when she saw an underground room surrounded by laterite walls with some small rocks scattered around that place.
Inside the underground, there was a large iron cage with thick bars. Arielle could see William, Kael, Lazarus, and Priest Jill sitting around the bonfire. Their faces were gloomy, and neither of them spoke to one another.
Behind them was Ronan, who had taken off all his clothes. Only a thick blanket wrapped around his naked body, keeping him from getting cold. The man was waiting for his transformation time.
"Ronan," Arielle called the man with a soft voice. She couldn’t see the gloomy expression on Ronan’s face for a long time.
"Arielle, tonight, the wolf from Amadea’s curse will become more dangerous than before because the wolf has felt some of the Moon Goddess’ power on you. He will become more rebellious than usual. He might even injure himself to give you his mark."
"Give me his mark?"
Otis nodded. "Because you are his mate."
