Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 416: The Mysterious Man
Arielle looked up to search for Ronan’s whereabouts. She looked around the backyard of the chapel, but she couldn’t find the man. From Ronan’s clothes scattered in the snow and the call inside her head, Arielle guessed that the man had turned into a wolf.
(I’m above the hill)
Arielle squinted her eyes, looking up at the hill behind the row of pine trees beyond the chapel’s backyard. She sharpened her eyes to look into the darkness of the forest.
(At one o’clock direction)
Arielle followed Ronan’s instruction and frowned at seeing a pair of glowing red eyes behind a large pine tree on the side of the hill. It was quite a dark and hidden place.
"Do I need to ask the villagers for help to search for His Majesty the King?" the priest beside Arielle asked in a panic.
"You don’t have to. Maybe His Majesty had something urgent to do. You can go back inside the chapel to inspect the storage room that had been broken into by someone. I’ll wait here for a bit. His Majesty will definitely return, and I will wait for him here."
The priest seemed hesitant to leave the princess alone. Then, William, Lazarus, and Aimee arrived at the right time. William said he would take care of the princess.
"What happened, Your Highness?" William asked in confusion at seeing the chaos in the chapel.
"I’ll tell you later. I’ll pick up with Ronan for a bit," said Arielle who hurriedly ran from the backyard of the chapel. William, who hadn’t grasped the situation, automatically followed Arielle, as well as Lazarus.
Lazarus was worried that something bad happened to Ronan after seeing the man’s clothes lying on the snow. He told Aimee to wait in the backyard.
Ronan stood on his four legs, then came closer to Arielle.
"Ronan!" Arielle shouted, then hopped up, hugging the man’s neck tightly.
William and Lazarus almost screamed in surprise. The two of them almost thought that Arielle had been attacked on by a beast before they arrived at the side of the hill. The two of them were ready to draw their swords, but stopped after seeing the wound on the wolf’s face.
"Ronan? Why did you transform into a wolf? Did something happen?"
(Please tell William that I was chasing someone who broke into my property.)
Arielle nodded. She turned to William. "Ronan said someone had broken into his property."
"Eh?" asked William and Lazarus at the same time. Both of them frowned, feeling strange about this situation.
(I chased that person all the way to the top of the hill, then lost track of it)
"Ronan had chased that person all the way to the top of the hill, but the person managed to escape, so Ronan lost track of it."
William and Lazarus look like two idiots right now. They couldn’t digest every word of the princess because in their heads they were wondering, how could the princess understand what Ronan said?
Lazarus raised his hand to ask. "Sorry to interrupt you, Your Highness. Are... are you two communicating?" asked Lazarus, who voiced both his confusion and William’s.
Arielle looked at Ronan. She just remembered that William and Lazarus didn’t know about her ability to communicate with Ronan’s wolf form. Ronan also just realized that he had only told Priest Elis about this.
Lazarus had indeed seen the princess talk to Ronan’s wolf when they played in the courtyard of the palace before. However, he thought it was just a one-way communication like a master with her pet dog.
Both of them immediately remembered the last full moon night where Arielle visited the basement to accompany Ronan all night. Was it because Arielle could communicate with Ronan’s wolf that the last full moon night was quite peaceful from the past?
"Yes, we can communicate. Ronan’s voice seemed to echo in my head. Right, Ronan?" Arielle asked the wolf beside her, and Ronan nodded his head.
(Arielle, tell them to focus on this matter first.)
Arielle nodded in understanding.
"But, we will talk about this another time because there are other important things that need to be discussed," said Arielle, delivering Ronan’s message
Arielle asked Ronan to come down the hill. William and Lazarus went down first to prevent anyone from going in or peeking into the backyard. If they dared to violate it, William and Lazarus threatened them that they would get a severe punishment.
Aimee covered her mouth when she saw Arielle, who arrived with a huge wolf. Maybe the size of an adult horse because the wolf’s height was higher than Arielle’s height. It was her first time seeing the wolf side of the king, and she couldn’t stop being amazed.
Maybe if Arielle wasn’t stroking the wolf fur and walking together with it, Aimee would have run away in fear. However, seeing Arielle standing beside the wolf, the scary wolf looked like a tame puppy.
William and Lazarus were back, and Arielle became an intermediary between Ronan, William, and Lazarus again. Ronan couldn’t turn back to his human form because his clothes had been torn when he transformed into a wolf earlier. They also couldn’t find a change of clothes, as Ronan’s body was bigger than most people, making it difficult for William to find a change of clothes quickly.
While listening to Ronan through Arielle, Lazarus tried to concentrate fully while looking sharply at Ronan, who was facing the princess again, explaining something else. Lazarus wanted to try it too. Maybe he would get a miracle to be able to communicate with Ronan too.
(Ronan... Ronan... Ronan...) Lazarus called Ronan’s name inside his head.
Ronan could feel someone’s sharp gaze. He nudged Arielle’s hand to listen to him again.
"Yes? Anything else?" Arielle asked, glancing at Ronan.
(Tell Lazarus to stop staring at me because even the snow in Northendell melts, he and I will never be able to communicate)
"Huh?" Arielle turned to Lazarus, who was still trying to communicate with Ronan through his mind.
"Ah... Lazarus?" Arielle called, making the man stop staring at Ronan.
"Yes, Your Highness? Is there anything that i can you?"
"Ronan felt uncomfortable because you were staring at him."
"Oh, did he hear my call?" Lazarus asked Ronan directly.
Arielle and William burst out laughing while Aimee slapped her forehead, feeling resigned to Lazarus’ stupidity.
