Chapter 443: Wedding Day

For the royal family of Northendell, marriage was one of the great moments in life, a time of serious commitment and good wishes, and feasts and joy for all its citizens. It was a form of a new hope that Northendell would last until their descendants were born.

Every human being had their own thread of destiny that had been predestined by fate. And the Moon Goddess as the entity responsible for the survival of all beings on earth had once again showed her existence by binding two human beings in the bond of a marriage.

The constant ringing of the bells symbolized the joy that all Northendell residents have been waiting for could be heard all over the capital. On their wedding day, the bride and groom would face each other, uttering the sacred vows and receiving the blessings from the Moon Goddess.

Located in a suburb of the small town of Northendell, St. John Chapel was a simple building full of beauty. On this happy day, the old chapel that had been starting to be abandoned turned back into a beautiful building dominant of white, as if a magical power was cast on it. It was also decorated with various kinds of plants that would never be able to grow without the help of the priests and mana power.

Flowers of various colours had filled the courtyard of the chapel, making the chapel look like a new hope of seeing spring to the citizens of Northendell.

The bells rang again, signalling that the wedding ceremony was about to begin. Inside the chapel sat a few special guests. The wedding was held privately, which was only attended by the closest people.

The guests in the chapel could see one of the heritage of the former queen. It was an oak candle holder carved by the queen while she was pregnant with her first child. Above it hung a portrait of the late queen who looked so beautiful and majestic.

On the Higher Altar, there was a mural of a woman hugging a baby with the jewels. It illustrated that the Moon Goddess would always hug all of her children.

After all the invited guests had sat quietly, the orchestra and choir began to play heartily. They sing a song to worship the Moon Goddess before starting the service. The service would be led by Priest Elis with Priest Louise as the one who would give the blessings to the bride and the groom.

The bell rang again, signalling that the service would begin...

11.00 am

Ronan D Blackthorn, the King of the Northendell Kingdom as the groom and his best man, William, arrived in front of the St. John Chapel courtyard and received by Priest Jill. Everyone who waiting around the chapel cheered. The groom turned around to raise his hand to greet his citizens. After giving the king time to greet his citizens, Priest Jill led the groom into the chapel.

As the chapel doors opened, the orchestra played again, followed by the chorus. All the guests rose from their seats to pay their respects to the groom who had arrived in the chapel.

11.05 am

Arielle Dellune, the tenth Princess of the Kingdom of Nieverdell as bride, had arrived down from her carriage and was received by a priestess. As the groom did, Arielle turned to greet the crowd in front of her. After she had greeted them, the priestess invited the princess to stand at the door of the chapel.

Arielle smiled at Archie, who looked very handsome. The man was waiting for her in front of the chapel door. Archie stretched out his hand with a broad smile on his face, and Arielle accepted it.

"Ready?" Archie asked.

Arielle nodded her head from behind her transparent white lace veil covering her face. "Ready," she replied, and Archie held his sister’s hand tighter.

11.10 am

The guests stood up again as the chapel doors opened. All eyes were fixed on the figure of the bride who had arrived with her brother. The golden white dress that beautifully embraced her body dropped two metres behind her. The transparent white lace that covered her face also dropped no less than her skirt. It swept the red carpet that she walked with so gracefully.

Everyone felt the same. Their heart was beating in admiration after they saw the presence of the bride.

"You can’t look back yet," William whispered, making Ronan clench his fists.

He also wanted to see Arielle after they forbade him to meet with Arielle, even for a few seconds or just taking a glance. The orchestral song made Ronan’s heart beat faster because he knew that Arielle was getting closer to him. Ronan glanced at Priest Louise who was standing in front of him with a faint smile.

It was only when Priest Louis gave his permission that Ronan turned to look at his bride.... The beautiful one.

Ronan lost his breath for a moment as Arielle peeked a little under her veil to look at her groom. Behind the mask he was wearing, Ronan was smiling broadly. He didn’t care about that, because surely no one could see him smiling right now.

Ronan took a few steps down to take Arielle’s hand from Archie. Arielle and Archie stared at each other for a moment as if communicating instinctively before they both let go of their hands. Now, Arielle’s hand had moved to the groom’s hand.

Ronan couldn’t take his eyes off from his bride. Even when the two of them stood to face Priest Louise, Ronan was still staring at Arielle so intently that Priest Louise had to clear his throat softly, asking the groom to focus on the service again.

All the guests sat back down in their seats. After the orchestra had finished playing the song, Priest Louise took a step forward to deliver his initiation...

"In the presence of the Moon Goddess, we all gathered to witness the wedding of Ronan D Blackthorn and Arielle Dellune, to give them the blessing, share the joy, and celebrate their love. Marriage is a sacred bond where when a man and woman grow together in love and trust, they will be united to each other in heart, body, and mind by the Moon Goddess through destiny."

"Marriage is a sign of unity and fidelity that everyone should uphold and respect. So that no one can enter it. Ronan and Arielle are now entering this way of life. They would each give their consent to one another and make solemn vows, and as a sign of this, they would each give and receive a ring. We pray with them that the Moon Goddess will always guide and strengthen them."

Everyone stood up to listen to Priest Louise’s declaration. He stood facing the bride and the groom.

"The vows you will take will be witnessed by the people and the Moon Goddess of the moon, who judges and knows all the secrets of our hearts; therefore, if one of you knows the reason why you cannot legally marry, you must declare it now."

Ronan and Arielle both nodded their heads.

Priest Louise now spoke to the groom.

"Ronan, will you take Arielle to be your wife? Will you love her, comfort her, honour and protect her, and, leaving all else behind, be faithful to her as long as you both shall live?"

"I will," said Ronan.

Priest Louise nodded and now spoke to Arielle.

"Arielle, will you take Ronan to be your husband? Will you love him, comfort him, honour and protect him, and, leaving all else behind, be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?"

"I will," Arielle replied confidently.

Priest Louise now asking the congregation.

"Are you, Ronan and Arielle’s family and friends, support and uphold them in their marriage now and in the years to come??"

"We will," everyone replied in unison.
