Chapter 472: Where Did Ronan Go?

Kael held onto the wolf’s black fur very tightly, trying to keep himself from falling.

"Ronan! Wake up! You have injured a lot of people!" Kael shouted, which was useless because Ronan had fallen asleep right now, and the curse of the god was the one controlling him. A curse filled with vengeance and anger in the past now rebelled to kill every human it saw.

"Arielle is waiting for you!"

Even when Kael repeatedly mentioned Arielle’s name, the wolf didn’t react. It was really useless. With difficulty, Kael took out the anesthetic syringe in his coat pocket. Kael bit the tip and then stuck it to the wolf’s neck so hard that it bled.

Ronan’s wolf still continued to struggle, but its body slowly felt unsteady, and it didn’t take long for the wolf to fall behind the river unconsciously. Kael checked the wolf’s condition and ordered the knights to tie up Ronan before he regained consciousness.

Kael saw the mess that Ronan had made. Lazarus’ left hand was injured. Some of his knights lost their legs and arms. Feeling guilty, Kael pulled out all the arrows stuck in Ronan’s body. Seeing Ronan right now reminded him of the previous incident where the previous king was also shot by a dozen arrows before being burned alive.

Kael’s eyes narrowed. Wait a minute. There was something strange.

"Lazarus," Kael called, asking his friend to come closer.

"Yes, Kael?"

"Is it just me or I don’t see the scar on Ronan’s face? And... the furs are slightly burnt?"

Lazarus surrounded the wolf and looked closely at the wolf’s face.

"Maybe it’s because it’s dark, so we don’t see much of it."

The moonlight suddenly dimmed. Everyone looked up to see the moon again being shrouded in fog. When they were about to tie up the giant wolf, there was suddenly a giant eagle flapping its wings in the sky.

Kael and Lazarus were ready to draw their swords when the eagle slid down towards the two of them, and without any resistance, the eagle lifted the giant wolf with its two huge claws and carried it up into the sky.

"RONAAAAN!!!!" shouted Lazarus at seeing his friend being carried away by the giant eagle.

Ronan opened his eyes and saw a room full of white light around him. He was completely naked, and there were iron chains on his hands, feet, and neck. Ronan tried to get up, but it was hard. He felt his head was dizzy, and his vision was a bit spinning. He also needed an answer to why he was here.

Ronan remembered where he was before he lost consciousness. He searched Arielle to the depths of Birwick Mountain. Ronan came to visit the part of the mountain where the dragon’s lair he had visited before, but he found nothing there. This was very strange because the lair looked so empty like there was no life there. Ronan kept circling the lair, but he still didn’t find a dragon there.

Ronan continued to sniff the area, but he found nothing, only the smell of rotting wood and snow. Ronan continued to advance up at Birwick Mountain. Where were all the dragons he met at that time? Not even the carcass of the dragon he slashed was there.

Where did the red dragon and the man named Otis bring Arielle? Ronan couldn’t find any clue about his wife’s whereabouts.

For hours he walked along the river, hoping to find the source of water on the mountain, but his effort was in vain. He couldn’t even find a lake or river. Birwick is really weird and full of mystery. Even so, it did not make Ronan afraid to enter it. In his head, there was only Arielle and how to find his wife.

It didn’t feel like the day had turned into night. He didn’t realize that it was a full moon night and felt a strange feeling in his body. Ronan, who was already in the form of a wolf, was forced to sleep by a mysterious power.

That was the last memory he could remember. And what were these chains...? Why did he tie up like this? Ronan tried to break free, but it was to no avail.

"Oh... you’re awake?"

That voice! It was the same voice as last month. A creature that claimed to be that goddamn god. In front of him appeared a wolf that looked like him, surrounding Ronan’s bound body while smiling contentedly.

"Let me go! I have to find my wife!" shouted Ronan while shaking the iron that chained his hands.

"Wife? Oh, you mean the girl who smells like Cecil?"

Amadea gave a disdainful look to Ronan who was growling at him. He blinked, and all the chains that restrained Ronan disappeared right away.

"I don’t need your curse! Give me back my body! I want to find my wife!"

"You won’t be able to find her, human."

Ronan clenched his fists. "Give Arielle back to me before I overturn this mountain," he ordered, and the man responded with a sheer chuckle.

"No. I am the guardian of Birwick Mountain. I choose who can enter and who cannot enter my territory. And you, the descendant of Theodore, will never be able to set your foot there," said Amadea.

Ronan was filled with anger, but he held it in as best he could. He needed a clue where his wife was right now. And that bastard god said that he was the guardian of Birwick Mountain, right? That meant he knew where Arielle was.

Amadea chuckled.

"Have you forgotten that I am also a part of you? I can read your mind, Idiot," Amadea mocked Ronan, making the man growl.

"Then, tell me where Arielle is!"

"I’m not saying this because I like you. I still hate you with all my soul. But, I miss Cecil’s scent, and only that girl can give me Cecil’s scent like last time."

"What do you mean?"

"After you met her. Ask the girl to bring me Cecil’s scent. If you accept my request, then I will open the Birwick gate for you."

"Yes yes! I’ll do it! Now take me to Arielle! Right now!!" Ronan replied without thinking.

A vine-shaped tattoo with a sun in the center appeared on Ronan’s wrist.

"If you break your promise, I’ll throw you into the dragons. They have a very deep grudge against you," Amadea said, then disappeared.

Ronan opened his eyes. He looked around. He had returned to the real world. Ronan looked up and saw the full moon still shining brightly. He then realized that... he could think straight... under the full moon! He didn’t lose his human side under the full moon!

Ronan didn’t have time to shout happily when a light suddenly appeared in front of him. The light then formed an open gate. He was frozen in place because what was in front of him seemed like all a dream.

"Arielle?" Ronan called to his wife when he saw the figure of the girl he missed deeply.

Arielle was standing alone, as if waiting for someone under the green trees with the ground full of colourful flowers. Ronan stepped forward and the whole scene around him suddenly changed to a new place that Ronan had never seen before.
