Chapter 503: Arielle Is Burning

Some fireflies flying made Luffy able to see a bit of the scene under the darkness of the forest.

"What flower?" Arielle asked curiously.

"I think it’s rose," Luffy replied, a little unsure of his answer.

"Arielle?" called Abigail from inside the cave.

"Yes?"

"Everything is okay, right?" asked Abigail who also got worried.

Arielle gave a thumbs up. "Yes, everything is fine. You don’t have to worry. We just need to rest here tonight, and tomorrow you have to move in with me."

Abigail nodded in agreement with Arielle’s suggestion. To a pregnant female dragon, Arielle’s offer might be an insult because dragons had high self-esteem. It showed that they had leaned on a creature that was weaker than them. They could only receive help from their mate.

However, Abigail’s case was quite different. After spending ten difficult years alone, now with the little help and kindness that Arielle had offered, Abigail couldn’t decline it. Besides, Arielle also promised to ask her husband about returning Xavier’s head, which was cut by the King of Northendelll.

"Luffy, let’s get inside," Arielle said.

"ARIELLEE!!!!" Luffy shouted. He instantly turned into a dragon and pushed his feet hard on a giant black wolf that jumped from the top of the hill and rolled down the hill.

Luffy who kicked the wolf also rolled down together with the wolf and hurt his yellow wings.

"LUFFYYY!!!" shouted Arielle who was surprised to see Luffy rolling down.

Hearing Arielle’s scream, Luffy immediately grabbed a rock to stop himself from rolling down. He flapped his wings again to fly back up, but he couldn’t fly high, so it was getting harder for him to flap his wings when he had reached his maximum height. Luffy immediately turned into a human again and ran fast into the cave.

Arielle stretched out her hand and pulled Luffy. She quickly hid the boy behind her body. Below... there was a giant black wolf with red eyes like Ronan. Its fur curled like hair on fire. The wolf growled at Arielle, showing its sharp fangs. However, when the wolf walked slowly, Arielle could see its right front leg was slightly limping.

"Abigail, stay where you are," Arielle ordered, feeling Abigail was getting closer.

The wolf had clearly come with bad intentions. It had been stalking Abigail for quite a while and was disturbed by the presence of Arielle and Luffy. Arielle realized she had no chance of winning against the wolf.

Her hands stretched out to the sides. Arielle bit her lower lip tightly, and flames suddenly appeared on her palms. Her blue eyes gleamed sharply at the wolf who was preparing to attack.

"Luffy, listen to me," Arielle whispered to Luffy who was holding the back of her shirt in fright.

"Yes, Arielle?"

"I need you to be the hero tonight. Fly as high and fast as you can and drag Maxieno here."

"Ariell?"

Arielle put out the fire in her hands, then grabbed Luffy’s collar and threw him in the air, making a surprised Luffy. The boy quickly transformed into a dragon and spread his wings.

"Ariell!"

"Fly Luffy! I will take care of Abigail! Fly and be a hero!!" Arielle shouted, boosting Luffy’s ability to continue flying against his limit.

Now only Arielle and Abigail were left. Arielle grabbed the firewood near the mouth of the cave, making the wood burn completely. The flames in her hand grew bigger and even enveloped her hand, but she didn’t feel pain or heat at all.

"Hey!" Arielle shouted, throwing the burning wood at the black wolf who was trying to chase Luffy.

The firewood that Arielle threw hit right on the wolf’s head, making it growl and turn to her. Arielle saw from above that Luffy managed to fly away faster than usual. She hoped the boy could bring some help. She didn’t know when the help would arrive. Arielle just hoped it was not too late.

She wished Maxieno could help Abigail soon.

The wolf walked closer to the hill. Arielle grabbed the firewood again, then burned it before throwing it at the wolf so it wouldn’t come close. However, the hill Abigail lived in was made of stone, so when the firewood had run out, the flame was instantly extinguished without leaving a trace. Arielle searched for a way to throw right at the wolf, but it could dodge the attack easily.

Arielle knew that the wolf was no ordinary wild wolf. It was a werewolf. Just like Ronan.

"What do you want!?" she shouted from above.

The wolf didn’t answer. It only released a sharp growl that made Arielle a little intimidated.

Then, she widened her eyes as the wolf jumped up the hill, dropped all the firewood, and set it on fire. Now the flames that were in her palm spread to her elbows. All the burning wood fell down, and the wolf easily lunged at Arielle.

KYAAAA!!!

A startled Abigail screamed. Arielle clenched her fists in full concentration. Something inside her seemed to move her body. Her blue eyes sparkled as Arielle’s body burned, and she quickly punched the big black wolf so that it flew out of the cave. The wolf fell off the rocky hill.

Arielle couldn’t think straight. She continued to burn and burn until her body was engulfed in smoldering flames. Inside her head, only echoed the desire to protect Abigail. Arielle didn’t feel any heat or pain at all. She opened her clenched hand, and the flames smoldered in the palms of her hands again.

The wolf seemed to have no fear at all. Now its eyes glared intently at Arielle and quickly returned to its feet on all fours. Arielle frowned when she felt her fingertips hurt. She glanced at the tips of her fingers. The part of the skin had peeled off.

However, there was no time to feel pain. Arielle clenched her fists again, and she gave one more blow of flames to the black wolf that was now tried to pounce on her body. This time, the wolf wasn’t pushed back. Its mouth was wide open to bite Arielle, but with the strength she got from nowhere, she held the wolf’s mouth.

The flames that burned its body grew bigger, and the wolf finally burned alive completely. Arielle’s hands were in pain as her skin kept peeling off.

(Help me...)

"Huh?"
