Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 507: Three Weeks Before

Three weeks earlier.

Arielle fell from the sky with Abigail who could no longer endure the pain in her stomach. However, before Abigail lost consciousness, she let out a sigh of relief at the sight of a huge red dragon that caught Arielle before the girl fell to the ground.

Abigail also didn’t immediately fall to the ground because several other dragons held her back so she didn’t fall down hard. The dragon group flew back into the ruins of the castle.

Arielle was placed on the ground by Maxieno who immediately transformed into a human again. He touched the crown of the girl’s head, and the fire that burned her body instantly disappeared. Maxieno then ordered several female dragons in the vicinity to treat the wounds on Arielle’s body right away. He frowned in disgust at the tips of the girl’s fingers whose skin had peeled off.

Maxieno stood towering in front of his castle, waiting for some other dragons to take Abigail to a nearby forest and nurse her there. This castle was quite crowded, and it was not good for a pregnant female dragon. She was too sensitive and would feel disturbed later. Thus, before Abigail regained consciousness, Maxieno ordered the others to move Abigail.

Not long after, a green dragon threw a black wolf whose fur had burned a lot. The wolf was still alive even though it had received many burns and lacerations to its stomach. To be honest, Maxieno still hated humans, especially the wife of the man who beheaded his brother, but he acknowledged Arielle’s persistence in protecting one of the dragon clan.

And who was the wolf that dared to enter his territory? Had he recently been less assertive that several other creatures underestimated the dragon clan’s territory? Maxieno thought of burning the wolf alive and giving an example to all the creatures that inhabited in Birwick Mountain not to underestimate him. He didn’t like their dirty feet stepping on his territory.

Otis arrived with Norman, another red dragon whom he assigned to inspect the territory. After he got down from Norman’s back, Otis went straight to the scorched black wolf.

"Oh, no... Maxieno? What’s this? You burned a wolf? You know that we’re still in conflict with them, right?" Otis asked frantically while trying to absorb all the heat that burned the wolf’s skin.

"What are you doing here? Have you completed the task I gave you?" Maxieno asked, crossing his arms in front of his chest. He was annoyed to see Otis accuse him, even though Maxieno hadn’t even opened his mouth at all.

Maxieno had intended to burn the wolf, but he hadn’t done it.

"I have finished repairing the damage on the territorial border. I was going to check the eastern area, but from a distance Norman said he saw a fireball falling from the sky, and I told Norman to come back right away," Otis replied without looking at Maxieno because he was still absorbing the heat from the wolf.

"Alright. Then, you can go back to your work. There’s nothing for you to worry about here," Maxieno replied lightly.

Otis brushed his face frustratedly. Of course, a scorched wolf in front of him was a big problem. What if the werewolf clan came back to get its member and take revenge? The war of hundreds of years ago would happen again. Otis knew very well that the competition between these two clans had been going on for hundreds of years since Amadea was bestowed as the guardian of Birwick Mountain.

However, since Amadea’s death, the dragon clan had taken over almost the entire territory that used to belong to the Kingdom of Birwick Mountain to become theirs. The werewolf clan didn’t accept it and tried to fight back. However, the tragedy of Amadea that burned almost the entire Birwick forest made the number of werewolf clans getting less and less, and the dragon clan easily drove the werewolf clan away to the end of the territory.

Otis was also present as a mediator between them. It ended with the result that the dragon clan and werewolf clan had to live far away, and they were forbidden to enter each other’s territory or threaten the lives of each clan’s members. However, if it was like this, it was clear that the werewolf clan would not remain silent.

"I didn’t do it," said Maxieno, making Otis turn to the man.

"Didn’t you burn it? Who is it, then?"

"The woman you brought with you," Maxieno replied curtly.

"Huh? You mean Arielle?"

"Who else? She has the power of flames like you, right? I found her burned by her own flames. She was like a firewood. It’s so funny," Maxieno’s comment made Otis gasp.

"Where is Arielle now?" Otis asked frantically.

"Inside, she was being treated."

Otis asked Maxieno not to do something rash, like killing the black wolf. Then, he ran to a room where Arielle was being treated. Otis closed his eyes after looking at the tips of the girl’s fingers whose skin peeled off.

Arielle must have been pushing herself again to let out the flames beyond her limits. Otis also saw the bite wound on Arielle’s hand. He didn’t know what had really happened. However, from the wound that the girl got, most likely the wolf started to attack her first. Then, Arielle tried to protect herself and ended up releasing a large amount of mana with high intensity. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Actually, everything should be in order... Otis had reminded Arielle many times. The girl’s body was indeed resistant to flames, but the heat of flames had its own degree. The highest stage Arielle could stand the flames was when she managed to evaporate water in an instant and survived Maxino’s dragon flames.

Those wounds would definitely leave traces. Otis sat beside Arielle’s bed while looking at all the bandages on the girl’s body.

Ah! He remembered something! Elixir of immortality! Otis shook his head. No, he couldn’t. Even meeting a unicorn clan was very difficult. How could he ask for something so impossible?

"Otis..." someone called.

Otis turned towards the door and found a crying Luffy hiding behind the door.

"Luffy... what’s wrong?" he asked, holding out his hand.

Luffy ran into the old man’s arms and hugged Otis tightly. Otis gently rubbed Luffy’s back to stop the boy from crying.

"Will Arielle live?" Luffy asked worriedly.

"Oh, you don’t have to worry. Arielle is much stronger than you think. Do you know anything, Luffy?"

Luffy nodded. "Yes, I was there, Otis. Arielle didn’t kill the wolf. It was the wolf that attacked Arielle first."

"Could you tell me all of it?"

Luffy nodded. He wiped the rest of his tears then started to tell the story from yesterday where they had a lunch break, and Luffy told his sadness when he saw Abigail’s condition. Arielle then asked Luffy to take her to Abigail’s cave. After they arrived there, Arielle helped Abigail clean the entire cave and planned to invite Abigail to live with her because she wanted to be responsible for what her husband had done.

Because Abigail didn’t have a mate anymore, Arielle wanted to be Abigail’s protector, and Abigail agreed. However, because it was already night, Arielle decided to stay in the cave for one night because she thought it would be dangerous to pass through the forest at night.

Then, Abigail said the last few days, she felt someone was watching her from a distance. At that moment, there was a wolf howl and a big black wolf already waiting near the foot of the rocky hill.

"At that time, Arielle threw me and told me to call for help. I’m so scared, Otis. I kept trying to flap my wings as fast and as high as possible, and luckily I ran into Maxieno."

"Smart boy... Arielle must be proud of you, because the help arrived on time, right? Arielle is now safe and will recover soon."

Luffy started crying again. "But, if I could be faster, Arielle wouldn’t be hurt this bad," Luffy replied while sobbing again. Otis hugged Luffy to calm the boy down. The old man turned and shook his head after seeing Arielle’s condition.

"The king will kill me. He will kill everyone," Otis muttered, feeling sorry for Arielle’s current condition.

Otis asked Luffy to return to guarding Arielle. He would examine the wolf and see who was behind the black wolf’s figure. Maybe Otis knew him because he also had some werewolf acquaintances in the werewolf clan. Hopefully, it was just a part of the rogue that didn’t belong to the werewolf clan. So, there was no need for revenge if they found out that one of its members had died in the dragon territory.

But wait... what was a werewolf doing near the cave of a pregnant female dragon? When Otis visited last time, he didn’t feel anything strange. And why did the werewolf enter into the dragon’s territory?

When Otis arrived at the castle’s front yard, his body suddenly had goosebumps. The dozens of dragons that were previously in human form had now transformed into towering dragons that intimidated the ground as a white-robed figure emerged from behind the forest.

Only Maxieno remained in his human form and glared at the unfamiliar figure.

The figure lowered his hood and revealed a shiny white horn over his forehead.

Otis gasped. He was from the Unicorn clan.

"I mean no harm at all Lord Maxieno, the great Lord of The Dragon Clan. I came with a peace. I only brought this for the descendant of the Moon Goddess." said the white-horned man as he took out a small vial of sparkling silver liquid from his pocket.

Dear Moon Goddess, Otis covered his mouth in disbelief. It was the Elixir of immortality!
