Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 746: Going Out Without Ronan’s Permission
Kael was still quiet. He didn’t have as much to say as the people at the table. He felt that, as an older brother, he didn’t really know his younger sister.
"Kael, is there something you want to say? Of course, the blessing from the family is also important," Ronan said, making all eyes fall on Kael.
"I... don’t have the confidence as an older brother. Aimee grew up and became a dignified and beautiful lady because of her own efforts. During this time, I always spent time in the palace or with the others... I almost never came home. So I didn’t really know what Aimee had been through in her whole life."
Kael looked at the burnt steak in front of him while thinking about the words he wanted to say. He was always filled with doubts when he was in an emotional state like this. When faced with war, Kael had always been someone who was cold-hearted and rational. However, when it came to emotions... he was the most gentle person out of the four of them.
"However, after seeing her in the palace for the last few months, I knew that Aimee was an outstanding person. My sister is someone who is persistent, so she will do her best to achieve her goals.
"Aimee once said to me that the academy at Northendell was too exclusive. Edelweiss Academy is only for educated nobles. The other two academies only teach women practical skills to become good wives, such as cooking or sewing.
"Then, the other academy is for ordinary people, but they are only taught about reading and writing as well as basic skills. And Aimee wants to create an academy where everyone, whether male or female, rich or poor, can get a proper education. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"That way, it is possible that there will be more scholars who help the priests to carry out experiments as well as related research, which will help advance Northendell’s condition. Now the dream gate is already in front of her. Thanks to Lazarus. Thanks to you, my sister can have the key to open the gate of her glorious dream," said Kael, making everyone moved because of his touching words.
Kael never expressed his feelings or his thoughts frankly. So, in this precious moment, no one tried to cut him off because only on this occasion would the man open up his heart.
Aimee stood up from her seat and hugged her brother tightly.
"Kael, thank you very much. Thank you for understanding my dream."
Kael was stunned because this was the first time his sister hugged him. He hid his face in Aimee’s shoulder and everyone could see Northendell’s Supreme Commander, the second strongest man in the kingdom, shed tears. Everyone knew that they had to avert their faces and pretend they didn’t see what was happening.
"Ronan, are you cooking meat or rubber?" asked William so no one would comment on Kael who was crying for the first time.
Thanks to William’s comment, Kael could compose his emotion and tell his sister to sit down again. Tomorrow was Aimee’s birthday, and she would be a full grown woman. Kael believed his younger sister was mature enough to figure things out. He just needed to look after her from afar.
Just like William had said, the steak made by Ronan did have a hard texture like rubber, but it was still worth eating. They celebrated the engagement of Aimee and Lazarus again with food that Ronan had prepared alone without anyone’s help.
After having lunch together, they gathered in the living room to discuss the possible engagement date of Aimee and Lazarus, which would take place upon their return. However, they still hadn’t set a date for a wedding day.
Arielle, who had just found out that Aimee’s birthday was tomorrow, was surprised because she didn’t have anything prepared to give to her friend. If she knew about it much earlier, then she would have prepared it before they went to this place.
Arielle still had time to prepare a present for Aimee. She could ask Ronan to accompany her to the port city to look for something. However, when she was going to ask his husband, the door was knocked, and a guard said that the local duke requested an audience to meet with the king to convey a few things.
Initially, Ronan wanted to refuse because he felt this was his vacation time and didn’t want to be disturbed, but Arielle told him to accept the duke’s request. Arielle was worried that the duke might want to convey something important.
Meanwhile, Arielle was looking for someone to go with her. William looked tired, and of course he would accompany Ronan to meet with the local duke. She also couldn’t invite Lazarus, considering that the man was sometimes too difficult to control. Arielle worried that the man would suddenly disappear when they were in a crowd.
Her last hope was Kael.
"Lord Kael, can I ask for your help?" Arielle asked Kael who had been sitting quietly all along.
"Is there anything I can help you with, Your Majesty?"
"Um... you see... I just found out that tomorrow is Aimee’s birthday and I haven’t prepared anything for her. Aimee is my best friend, and I want to prepare something special for her. Can you accompany me to the port city to find canvases and other painting materials?" asked Arielle politely.
"With pleasure, Your Majesty. However, before that, we must first get permission from His Majesty the King."
Arielle fell silent. She doubted Ronan would allow her to go alone with Kael. However, if she waited for her husband, then it would definitely take a long time. She didn’t want to waste time.
It was still noon, so there was plenty of time to prepare the present for Aimee. She wanted to take it with her when they boarded the ship the next morning.
"His Majesty the King seems very busy. I don’t want to bother him. I’m sure the king will grant his permission if I go with you. You are the person I can rely on the most right now," Arielle said sincerely, making it difficult for Kael to refuse the queen’s request.
