Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 747: Visiting The Port Town
"His Majesty the King seems very busy. I don’t want to bother him. I’m sure the king will grant his permission if I go with you. You are the person I can rely on the most right now," Arielle said sincerely, making it difficult for Kael to refuse the queen’s request.
Even so, Kael still shook his head firmly. He couldn’t let the queen leave this place without the king’s permission. Besides, requesting permission shouldn’t take more than ten minutes. The decision was on the king. If Ronan said yes, they could go out immediately. However, if the man said no, then Kael would apologize to Queen Arielle that he couldn’t accompany her.
Arielle touched Kael’s arm and gave the man a pleading expression. What kind of normal man whose heart didn’t pound when the queen acted like that?
"Your Majesty ..."
"I promise I will take responsibility, Kael. We can’t waste time now. I’ll explain everything to my husband after we get back. That is, if we can get back before Ronan’s meeting is over. I can ride my own horse now."
"I can’t do it without the king’s permission, Your Majesty."
Arielle took a deep breath. She let go of her hand from Kael’s arm then turned around. Kael watched Queen Arielle who went to the door of the house. He knew the queen would leave the house alone.
In the living room, there was no Lazarus, Aimee, and Irene. Where did they go at a time like this?
"Your Majesty, where do you want to go?" Kael asked worriedly.
"I’m going to ask some guards to go with me to the next town. I have to get what I want right away so I can prepare a present for Aimee."
"Your Majesty, your safety is more important than Aimee’s present. My sister must understand it."
Arielle turned to look at Kael in surprise.
"Lord Kael, you said you weren’t close to Aimee, right? Have you tried to get closer to her?"
"I-I think.. I have done that?"
"Have you prepared a present for your sister?" Arielle asked, making Kael stunned.
"I... never gave Aimee a present since we were little. She never asked for it."
Arielle just smiled and turned around. She walked down the hill briskly.
"Of course she won’t ask. A present must be a surprise. If you want to get closer to Aimee, come with me. Let’s go to the next town together," said Arielle.
Kael finally relented. He closed the door of Lazarus’ house and went with the queen. Kael then asked two additional guards to come with them as a precaution. The horse that Arielle used earlier was prepared again.
Arielle had a little trouble getting on the horse as she couldn’t lift her body weight.
"Your Majesty, I’m sorry. May I help you?" Kael offered himself to help the queen.
"Sure, hurry up. I don’t want to waste time."
Kael put his hands on Arielle’s waist. The man had said sorry for having to touch Queen Arielle, then he lifted her body easily. Arielle breathed a sigh of relief as she was finally able to get on the horse.
Arielle and Kael left the naval base with two guards with plain clothes to head to the port town, which was thirty minutes away from their place. Kael rode his horse beside Queen Arielle just in case, because she had just learned to ride today.
Arielle rode at a moderate pace, not too fast nor too slow. Perhaps if Kael was alone, then he would arrive in the port town within five minutes. However, he was with someone important right now. He still had to keep an eye on the surroundings, as well as keep Arielle’s horse from acting up.
They arrived at the port town after a while. Kael tied their horses in the same place where Lazarus was yesterday.
Just as Arielle had planned, she immediately asked Kael where people sell painting supplies. Together with the two guards, Arielle walked in the middle of the crowd. She lowered the hood of her coat so as not to look conspicuous.
Kael asked the people around and directed Queen Arielle towards their destination. Arriving at the outskirts of the city, there was a small house with many different types of paintings on display to attract the attention of potential buyers at the front. In addition, there were also some sculptures made of stone.
Arielle stared at the paintings. Most of the paintings were landscapes, as well as the paintings of war and battle. Quite a variety, it started from something victorious to grisly. Arielle shook her head. She should get a canvas soon and not get distracted by anything.
Kael accompanied Arielle inside. An old man with a long white beard sat behind the counter, painting on the canvas with his right hand while holding a cigar with his left. When the doorbell rang, the man turned his head back to greet the customer warmly, as people rarely visited this place.
"Welcome, Dear Customer. How can I help you?"
"I want to buy a medium-sized canvas as well as some oil paintings."
"Oh, you can paint, young lady?"
"I’m still learning."
"Ahaha, of course, still learning. A line the nobles always say."
Arielle didn’t understand what the man meant. Then, the old man offered her a larger canvas, but she only wanted a medium-sized canvas. She couldn’t finish a painting on a large canvas in a day.
Arielle would just do what she could do. She then chose her brush as well as picked some different base colors of oil paintings.
The old man tried to peek under Arielle’s hood, but Kael immediately stood in front of the queen to block the man.
"We will pay," he said coldly.
The old man looked up to see how big the man in front of him was and clicked his tongue. "I wish to speak with the young lady for a moment."
Feeling herself being called, Arielle peeked from behind Kael’s back.
"Young lady, would you mind lifting your hood for a moment? I want to look into your eyes for a second."
"What for?" asked Arielle warily.
