Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 762: News From Thebis
All Arielle did after that was contacting Maxieno. The stubborn dragon, however, never listened to her words. Time was running out, and there was no more information they could get. Both from Maxineo, Thebis, or from Priest Louise.
Leonor’s name hadn’t been found. Arielle and the other priests spent day and night in the library, checking every book that might have any clues regarding Princess Leonor or the female Knight named Leonor. However, so far, none of their efforts had come to fruition.
Until one day, a man in a turban arrived. The man arrived alone, without any knights accompanying him. He only brought a piece of brown envelope paper. The guard immediately gave it to William who happened to be around the main gate.
William looked at the envelope for a moment.
"What envelope is this? There is no crest of the kingdom. If it’s not important, just put it in my room. I have to check out the capital for a bit."
"The person said it’s a letter for His Majesty the King, Sir."
"From?" asked William who saw no sign that the letter was important enough to be given directly to the king.
The guard looked back. "He didn’t give his name, but he is from Thebis. If you want to see him, the man is still waiting at the gate."
Thebis? There had been no news from Thebis for almost two months. The last meeting with Thebis was at Princess Bertha’s residence, and they were just waiting for the invitation letter to visit Thebis officially.
William arrived at the guard post. In front of him stood a tall and huge man like Kael. The man wore a turban over his head, covering his jet black hair. A small peacock’s feather stuck on the top of his turban. It was a unique and beautiful accessory. The man looked back, and William recognized the man right away.
Prince Khaled, the thirteenth prince of Thebis, who was also the representative from Thebis. William met the man quite often. They met at several banquets in other kingdoms. The last time they met was a few years ago when he went to accompany Ronan to attend the coronation ceremony in Wolgast.
"Greetings, Lord William," said Prince Khaled in a friendly manner. He put the tip of his hand to his forehead then stretched it out to accept William’s handshake.
"Your Highness Prince Khaled, I didn’t know you would come all by yourself to Northendell from Thebis."
Prince Khaled let out a chuckle. "No need to be too polite, Lord William. We agreed to talk casually at our last meeting. I arrived to bring a message from my aunt, Princess Zohra."
William spread his arms and Prince Khaled hugged William briefly.
"Of course! Of course! We’ve been waiting to hear from Thebis! This is good news! I will take you to meet His Majesty the King."
"Thank you, Lord William."
William then ordered a guard to bring Prince Khaled’s horse to the stables and take good care of it. William was pleased to introduce some areas of Northendell’s Royal Palace. Prince Khaled was quite amazed by the sight. He had not visited Northendell in a very long time. The last time was when he came to accompany his father to attend the king’s coronation.
Prince Khaled was astounded. Northendell felt almost like Thebis. The only difference was the color and temperature. If Northendell was filled with white snow, Thebis was filled with brown sand. Northendell was very cold and wet, while Thebis was very hot and barren.
Before coming to Northendell, Prince Khaled had heard everything from his aunt. He and Princess Zohra had the same goal, namely wanting to end the suffering of Thebis. However, so far, they always faced a dead end. And working with Northendell was like opening new doors for them.
An empty hope that they had been holding on to suddenly felt so real, and it made them hold on it even tighter.
"It seems His Majesty the King is with Her Majesty Queen Arielle at the moment."
"Oh, are we not intruding on their time?"
William chuckled. "Hahaha. Of course not. I came to their study a while ago. They were resting after working relentlessly since morning. You can wait in the reception room. I will convey Princess Zohra’s message to the king and queen."
William escorted Prince Khaled to the biggest reception room. There was a long table with rows of luxurious chairs. William then asked the prince to sit in one of the chairs. He also did not forget to call Lucas to help provide all of Prince Khaled’s needs, who had a long journey from Thebis to Northendell on horseback.
William smiled happily. Lately, things had become noticeably more monotonous, and they just walked in place. There was no progress at all. At least with the arrival of Prince Khaled, they would know what steps they should take next.
William arrived in front of Ronan’s study. He knocked on the wooden door, then waited for Ronan or Arielle to let him in. Some time passed and William still stood patiently in front of the door. He then turned to the guard who was standing straight and not moving an inch.
William cleared his throat and knocked on the king’s study door once more. The guard nearby glanced at William, and William glanced at him as well. When they were caught glancing at each other, both of them cleared their throats awkwardly. William didn’t like being kept waiting like this.
"Did the king and queen leave after I left?" William asked the guard who glanced at him earlier.
The man just shook his head and turned again.
William decided to check it himself. He opened the door without permission.
"Your Majesty~" William called.
"Good grief!"
The man immediately closed his eyes with Princess Zohra’s envelope and turned his body so as not to see what the two rulers of the kingdom were doing at the moment.
Ronan looked up and saw that William had turned his back on him.
