Chapter 143: Chapter 145: No More Mercy 2

Still a little drunk and unsteady, Luis grew reckless. He smashed the beer bottle on the ground and pulled out his gun, pointing it at Jeff.

"Haha, look at this kid acting all tough just because he trained to be a warrior. Even if your training started in your mother’s womb, it’s still hopeless for you!" he shouted, his words slurred with arrogance.

While still pointing the gun at him, Luis kept his distance. Even under the influence of alcohol, his experience told him not to get too close.

He knew that if he entered the kid’s range, he could be taken down in an instant, so he maintained a safe gap between them.

"But something’s not right," Luis muttered, his expression turning uncertain.

"How did you get here so fast? I clearly watched my surroundings, and I didn’t see any vehicles following me at all."

Jeff simply smirked and replied, "Well, that’s for you to guess."

Luis felt his blood boil at the boy’s arrogance and the slight curve of his lips.

The target was right in front of him so there was no reason to wait any longer.

The quicker this was done the fastest they can complete the mission.

Realizing what Luis was about to do, Justin, the man who had been watching carefully, tried to stop him.

But before he could move, the gun went off. The deafening sound echoed through the factory as the bullet tore through the air, indicating that he was too late.

The bullet whizzed through the air, but Jeff didn’t even flinch. His golden eyes followed its path as if it were moving in slow motion.

He felt the pulse in his veins begin to sync with the steady rhythm of his heartbeat, and faint tremors hummed beneath his skin.

In that instant, a field of invisible energy formed around him, like a silent shield born from pure force.

The bullet struck the barrier and came to an abrupt halt, unable to move even an inch closer.

Clang

The bullet hit the invisible barrier and fell to the ground with a metallic clink, the bullet was flattened like a coin.

Everyone froze, as their eyes widened in disbelief.

"This... this, what the hell is this?" Luis shouted, staring at the deformed bullet on the floor.

"This isn’t real! It has to be fake!" Luis yelled, his voice breaking as panic and anger took over.

He pulled the trigger again and again, unleashing a storm of bullets toward Jeff.

Bang!

Bang!

Bang!

...

Each round screamed towards Jeff but none of those can ever reached him.

Every bullet that was fired was slowed, deformed, and dropped uselessly to the ground, bouncing off the invisible field that danced faintly around his body.

He was just standing their totally unbothered as his hands were still in his pants.

"Damn, is this how strong I have become? I’m totally a superhuman now," Jeff exclaimed inwardly as he looked at the bullet that is inches away from him.

Jeff could clearly see each bullet as it tried in vain to break through the barrier, but none of them even came close.

They simply stopped midair falling harmlessly to the floor.

"This is impossible! It can’t be! What kind of sorcery are you using, you monster?" Luis shouted, his voice trembling with fear.

The shock was so overwhelming that the effect of the alcohol vanished completely, leaving him cold sober and terrified.

Hearing Luis’s terrified shout, Jeff remained still, quietly feeling the energy coursing through his body.

This wasn’t sorcery at all rather it was something beyond that, a fusion of physics and power that defied ordinary understanding.

After reaching the third level and mastering his abilities through intense training in the White Room, he had experienced countless improvements.

Every fiber of his being was stronger, faster, and more precise than ever before.

For example, is he’s senses that were greatly improved, when detecting a high-velocity projectiles or rapid air displacement, his Kinetic Vein Art triggers reflexively.

This kind of sense is OP because it means that those who are using weapons, like guns and sniper, are now useless in front of him due to this skill.

Another reason for his power was the micro tremor network within his body, a lattice of vibrating cells and kinetic conduits that synchronized perfectly with his heartbeat.

Each pulse amplified into a wave of focused kinetic vibration, spreading through him like a living rhythm.

The oscillation of that energy extended outward, causing the thin layer of air molecules around his body to ionize.

These charged particles began to vibrate in precise patterns, forming what the people of Terra X called a localized kinetic pressure field.

It is a dome-like layer of controlled motion that shielded him from harm.

It’s invisible to the naked eye but has mass-equivalent momentum, meaning it behaves like a flexible armor made entirely of force.

So when a bullet or any high-speed object strikes the field, the barrier doesn’t meet it with brute resistance.

Instead, it absorbs the object’s momentum, spreading that kinetic energy across billions of vibrating air particles in microseconds.

This rapid diffusion nullifies the bullet’s forward motion, flattening it harmlessly before the energy dissipates as harmless heat and sound which are the faint clanking sound that everyone heard.

If he was still at the second stage, he would have to activate it but because he was at the third level his body now automatically regulates the barrier’s energy density, so he doesn’t need to consciously activate it.

His body can now respond faster than a thought, turning each heartbeat into a calibration pulse that sustains the field.

The more danger he’s in, the faster the pulse in creating stronger kinetic buffering in proportion to the threat.

After a while and finally the gun made a clicking sound telling him that it had run out of bullets.

"Are you out of ammo?" he asked Luis who was terrified than ever before.

"Monster... you’re a monster... there’s no way a monster like you exists," Luis stammered, his voice trembling as the gun slipped from his hands.

Jeff didn’t bother replying. It felt pointless to talk to someone who was already as good as dead.

By calmly raising his right hand and tilted his fingers forward, his thumb cocked upward like a gun.

At first, the gesture seemed almost childish, like a kid pretending to shoot.

But then, the air around his fingertip began to distort, faint ripples swirling outward like transparent smoke twisting in the light.

After that a high-pitched hum filled the air as golden streaks faintly glimmered under his skin, his veins pulsing in rhythm with his heartbeat.

Luis’s who had thought he was on drugs thinking that his hand is a gun, he was too late to realize the truth.

"Luis Moveddd!!" shouted by Justin.

But he was too late, a sharp ripple tore through the air silently but deafening in presence.

A shockwave rippled outward from Jeff’s fingertip, distorting light like heat against glass.

An invisible projectile pierced Luis’s forehead in an instant. It’s like a light passed through, but the problem is a light can be seen but the attack was invisible.

There was no sound, and only the faint twist of air as the kinetic slug exited through the back of his skull, leaving nothing but silence and a faint whisper of displaced air.

Luis froze mid-scream before collapsing, his body was now lifeless showing that he is dead.

With just one shot he killed a person, seeing that their is no life force anymore.

He lowered his hand slowly, the faint hum fading from his veins.

"Bull’s-eye," he said, exhaling softly from his fingertips as if blowing away the smoke of an invisible gun.

This was one of the techniques he had learned during his time in the White Room, the very move Jakol had used to torment him again and again.

After countless hours of dying and restarting, enduring the pain until he grasped its true essence, he had finally mastered it. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

But when compared to Jakol’s version? Jakol’s finger attack was like a bazooka, ten times more destructive than what Jeff had just done.

and that wasn’t even Jakol’s full strength. After being exposed to such overwhelming abilities, Jeff truly realized how terrifying the world Terra X must be.

He could almost picture it in his mind something out of a fiction.

Like a single strike powerful enough to blast apart a mountain. The thought seemed impossible, yet based on what he had experienced so far, it no longer felt like fantasy.

In Terra X even the unimaginable could become real, and that means this applied to his world as well.
