Chapter 66: Death Of The Omega

"No, stay away from me." Melissa said amidst overflowing tears but Leo did not listen, the only sound he could hear resounding loudly in his ears was her pulsing heart. The only thing he wanted to feel was her neck getting curshed in his maw.

Hinata groaned from where she lay on the floor, she tried to speak but her vocal cords did not work properly. Her body had been beaten to a pulp and heavily injured. Mr Neuman who lay on the floor still left in pain from his bullet wound looked at Leo in fear, his mind wondering if he was an awakened or a monster.

"Hey, What’s gotten into you. Stop that." Mr Neuman screamed at the top of his voice. He was still left paralysed by the bullet from earlier, this left him helpless to save his own daughter.

His features distorted, descending into deep turmoil. He had wanted to save one daughter from the other but now, could potentially lose them both. Unable to do anything he continued to scream with raging passion.

As Leo got closer to Melissa, a thick string of saliva fell from his lips and fell to the ground. The original Leo was nowhere to be seen, his precept of character now lost in a fog that went him spiraling into a world of pure instinct and rage.

His ribcage reverberated with every deep growl that left him, hot air visibly left his lungs. His body seemed to give off a strange heat, and his steps grew heavier with each advance.

He was just a few feet away from Melissa when two shots rang out. Leo’s march came to an end as two bullets drilled through his neck and came out the other end.

Leo froze for a moment, his eyes widened as blood seeped out of his neck. He let out a pained roar as he turned to face the woman who had shot him, Leo’s senses returned back to him.

’What the hell happened? Everywhere hurts.’

He could see the nanny aiming her gun right at him, his eyes flashed a bright purple flash. Another shot escaped from the gun but this time his body moved on it’s own and dove underneath allowing the flying projectile to fly overhead.

The nanny fired off several more shot with insane accuracy, each shot exploding on contact with his body and turning into a pool of pale green acid. Leo’s vocal box nearly shattered at the sound of the horrific shriek that escaped from them. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

Leo’s body burned down to the bone on his shoulder and arms, his limbs became heavy and hard to control anymore. The nanny who still remained indifferent fired off one more shot, this one drilling into his chest and through his heart before exploding into the same acidic material.

Leo’s brain tried to register what had happened, in the moment following after he had seen the sphere’s last message he had lost all memory till recent. And he wished his mind had not remained, because he was met by the most painful feeling he had ever experienced.

He felt like his body had been put into a hot furnace and the core of that furnace located in his chest region. Leo shrieked and trashed around, the burning in his depth of his heart caused his brain to spark like a network of cascading fireworks. Veins bulged from every core of his body as he felt the need to pull out his own heart.

"Shit." He wheezed.

The nanny walked up to him, her features calm and controlled. There was neither hesitation nor fear in them-- only emptiness, "You superhumans, always feeling like gods among men. But you’re nothing more than another target to be taken down."

She cocked her gun and shot him on the knee, the bullet exploding right through like a firework. Leo screamed as he plummeted to the ground, pain overwhelming him on all sides of his every being. He tried to summon control over his body but the strain of using the moon god’s battle art was still prevalent in him. It left him weak and dull.

"Everyone of my bullets were hand designed by me to counter any of your dumb abilities." Madelyn said as she drove her foot into his neck with so much force it shattered. Leo groaned in response, his voice and body was failing.

Then she reached for him and pulled him by the hair across the room and over to the window that stood several floors from the compound ground. "When you get to the afterlife. Tell them the bloody bride sent you."

’No! Common, move. Fight back!’ Try as he might to will his body to put up a resistance, he felt as drained as he was back when he had fought the hive of dormant critters to the point he had nearly died. He was powerless to resist.

As the window got closer to view he fought against every instinct to deny death as he had always done many times before. But this time seemed different, it seemed like his mother’s grace had conspired with fate to abandon him this time

The bloody bride raised his body and hurled him at the window. The glass frame exploded into millions of fragmented pieces as he fell prey to gravity. Leo fell prey to gravity as he plummeted several feet to the ground, he could feel the world becoming colder and slower. He could hardly even breath, the only thing he could see was a boundless blue sky with a crescent moon shining down on him. And thin streams of crimson red trailing down after him.

In those moments his mind grew clouded with a number of thoughts.

’Is this how it ends? I still have a lot of things to do? Trish, father...’

Seconds before his skull smashed into the ground a dark chuckle came from his palm, as a black painted lip and row of sharp fangs formed there. "Are you giving up little rat?"

Leo could not conjour up his thoughts clearly under that haze of all the pain but he knew he had not reason accepting death, he still had a family to look out for. He had to get stronger.

"I sense some really strong people, I wonder... I can help you if you want, for a price." The idea was tempting enough for Leo to consider.

Did he really want the help of an entity known to be a demon? He was almost dead, or was he wrong? The entity represented evil so should he expect anything good from it. One thing was for sure, he was its vessel or perhaps it’s prison and he doubted it would want him to die.

"I..." He wanted to accept it’s proposition but he hesitated for a moment, wondering what the entity would do if it took over him. His daily objective was against the idea so should he trust a system he knew made to protect him or the entity of an unknown origin.

A fraction of a second later his entire body smashed into the ground with a defending thud. His skull exploded open with his brain spilling out in a pool of blood, and with a string of flesh barely connecting it to its body. Leo could not longer form abstract thoughts, he could not even feel anything, he doubted he still existed.

Had he accepted Xavax’s proposition, perhaps he might still be alive now. Unable to even think the horrid things the entity might have done with his body, the remains of Leo laid there on the floor for several seconds before he bled out—

—and DIED!
