Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband-Chapter 137
Chapter 137: Chapter 137
[Song recommendation: Why - Full House OST.]
Sebastian held her hand as he led her into the apartment. This apartment was still under Aiden’s property, so it naturally fell into Winter’s hand.
Sebastian already asked her how much he would need to pay to buy this property from her, but she never gave him an exact number as she never wanted to sell any of Aiden’s property.
Now that the truth about Sebastian and Aiden’s being half-brothers was revealed, she thought it was inhuman to charge him rent or let him buy the property.
"I didn’t expect you to take care of the apartment. I thought it would be..."
"Messy?" Sebastian chuckled. "I just called the housekeeper to clean it daily. I just thought since I lived on your property without paying, the least I can do is not to make a mess."
Winter’s lips curled as she slowly gave him approval in her heart.
Sebastian put the wooden box on the table in the living room, and said, "Do you want something to drink?" He rummaged inside the fridge and added, "How about wine to celebrate our victory against Camilla?"
"Are you sure it’s a victory?" Winter questioned. "You don’t seem happy."
"Just because I don’t jump around like a clown, doesn’t mean I’m not happy," Sebastian said as he walked back to Winter with a bottle and two wine glasses. He filled the wine glass and put it on the table for Winter to enjoy. "I am happy, but not because I have jailed my mother. I’m happy because you’re finally free from torment, Winter."
Sebastian wanted to continue his words. He hesitated for a while before adding, "I’m also happy to be able to mend my mistake. I knew I did you wrong in our past lives."
Winter wasn’t going to spoil the mood. She picked up the wine glass and sipped on it, "Why don’t you open the box? I’m sure you want to know what’s inside."
"I already know what’s inside. But sure..." Sebastian sat next to Winter. He took a big gulp from the wine glass to gather some courage. After all, he had to face his trauma again, and it wasn’t easy, especially with Winter by his side. He didn’t want to cry in front of his wife, because he thought it might be a bit too pathetic to keep crying like a little boy in front of the woman he was supposed to protect.
Sebastian opened the wooden box and Winter was holding her breath as she looked curiously at the content.
She saw a few things inside, but the most eye-catching thing was a photo of Rafael Kirk holding baby Sebastian. Rafael had a proud smile, which Winter found to be pathetic because Aiden was probably ten years old then.
She didn’t expect her late father-in-law to be promiscuous. Based on what Aiden told her before, Rafael Kirk was a family man, a good father who taught him many things.
Sebastian picked up the photo, staring at it until his hand trembled a little, "I never have a baby picture. This is probably the only one."
Sebastian grabbed a document about the DNA test that proved he was Rafael Kirk’s biological son. Other than that, he also saw a few more baby pictures of him and Rafael.
Rafael Kirk acted like a father in all of these photos, as if they were truly a family. There were also a few with Camilla, which only made it more tragic because Camilla smiled sincerely in every picture of hers.
It seemed that Camilla was genuinely in love with Rafael, probably already expecting him to divorce his wife, so they could build a life together with Sebastian as their son.
Winter’s expression gradually turned somber as she realized that Sebastian must’ve been robbed of a good family since he was young. Winter might have been tossed by her biological parents, but Gina picked her up and adopted her.
She was raised with love. They didn’t have much, but Gina never deprived her of the motherly love that shaped Winter to be a proper adult.
But Sebastian was different.
"Rafael had two different families, probably without his wife knowing," Winter mentioned.
"Mm, I guess so. Aiden’s mother probably found out about it, and demanded Rafael to kick my mother out of his life," Sebastian said. "That’s why my mom becomes bitter."
"I don’t agree with both of them. Rafael is at fault for cheating, and Camilla knows she is the mistress and still wants to give birth to a baby. No good thing would come out of it, especially since Aiden’s mother still has considerable power in the company," Winter commented. "I also disagree with my late mother-in-law. I’m sure she knows about you yet she severed your relationship completely with Aiden. Aiden always told me that he is the only child."
Sebastian knew that everyone was at fault.
Rafael was at fault for cheating.
Camilla was at fault for becoming a mistress.
And he was also at fault for being born. He was an affair baby, after all.
"I don’t understand," Sebastian muttered. "Why do I have to be born when nobody loves me? My father abandoned me and I became a liability for him, and my mother used me as a tool for her ambition. I am truly alone in this world."
Sebastian’s heart ached so badly that it was hard for him to breathe. He turned his head towards his wife and said, "I’m sorry for dragging you into this mess, Winter. You are innocent. You shouldn’t have died because of my mistake."
Winter didn’t want to deny that, because that was the truth. She got dragged by Camilla into this mess when all she wanted was to protect what Aiden gave her.
But she also didn’t want to blame Sebastian, who was trapped in a difficult position after being manipulated since he was a kid.
Thus, she hugged Sebastian tightly and said, "You’ve mended your mistake, Sebastian. That’s all that matters to me now."
"T-then, does that mean..."
"Yes, I forgive you, Sebastian Saenz."
