Madam's Awakening Shocks The Whole World-Chapter 117 - 115: Qin Qin Under Interrogation (Two more!)
Chapter 117: Chapter 115: Qin Qin Under Interrogation (Two more!)
"Name!"
"Qin Qin."
"Gender, age, and where do you live."
Two police officers asked Qin Qin in the interrogation room with cold voices. Qin Qin was very cooperative, answering each question in turn.
Upon hearing that Qin Qin lived in Blue Bay Scenery, the two officers were startled—could someone who lived in Blue Bay Scenery possibly be a human trafficker? Could there have been a mistake?!
"Captain, why have you come?" A police officer’s voice came from outside the door, followed by the interrogation room door opening, and a tall figure walked in. The man was dressed in a neat police uniform, his handsome features giving off an aura of integrity.
Qin Qin lifted her head to glance at the newcomer. The person appeared to be in his late twenties and was quite good-looking.
The newcomer’s gaze landed on Qin Qin, and he was taken aback upon seeing her. It seemed he had not expected the so-called human trafficker to be such a young and rather delicate-looking girl.
When the two officers saw the newcomer, they both stood up, "Captain, what brings you here?"
"I heard we caught a human trafficker, and I came to have a look. Xiao Ning, you step out. Let me handle the interrogation."
The officer named Xiao Ning nodded, promptly left the room, and closed the door of the interrogation chamber.
The captain took Xiao Ning’s seat while the older police officer who had brought Qin Qin in passed the earlier statement taken from Qin Qin to the captain, "Captain, here are her details."
Xi Yue nodded and accepted the statement from the older officer, flipping through it. A minute later, he lifted his head to look at Qin Qin, "Your name is Qin Qin, and you live in Blue Bay Scenery?!"
"Yes!"
Xi Yue gave a faint smile. Coincidentally, he lived in Blue Bay Scenery too, yet he had never encountered this girl.
Recently, Chuandu City had seen a slew of brash human traffickers abducting many children and young women, creating a dire situation that drew significant attention from higher-ups and put pressure on them to quickly apprehend the perpetrators.
Now that they finally had a lead, he naturally wanted to see for himself—who was this so-called human trafficker? Yet, he had not expected it to be such a girl.
"Do you have any evidence to prove you’re not a trafficker?" Xi Yue looked at the young woman sitting across from him, finding it strange that she seemed not the least bit afraid of being at the police station, and even maintained a calm and composed demeanor while he was speaking to her. It almost seemed like she was casually enjoying tea somewhere rather than being interrogated.
"Evidence? Why would I need evidence for something I’ve never done? It’s funny that I get falsely accused the one time I try to be a good samaritan. It makes me wonder if I should think twice before helping people again, just to avoid being dragged to the police station." Qin Qin lightly propped her chin, speaking earnestly.
"Show some respect! When the captain asks you a question, answer it properly," the older officer barked, pounding the table with force.
Qin Qin glanced at the older police officer, "No need to be so hot-tempered. Be nicer."
The older officer bristled with anger, "You..."
Xi Yue intervened, curtailing the older officer’s indignation, and looked at Qin Qin with a raised smile, "I hear you can tell fortunes?"
Upon arrival at the station, there had been a buzz among the officers about having caught a girl who claimed to be a fortune-teller, who allegedly knew of the child’s abduction through her predictions.
Qin Qin crossed her legs and leaned forward slightly, her lips curving into a smile, "Yes, I know a bit. Normally, my first reading costs five thousand, the second fifty thousand, and the third five hundred thousand. Would you like me to do a reading for you, captain?"
The older officer was shocked; he was drinking water and, hearing Qin Qin’s words, choked and started coughing loudly, "Cough, cough, cough, you..."
Xi Yue watched Qin Qin closely, realizing that despite her casual smile, her tone was very serious.
"Fine, if you really can divine the future, then tell me where that group of human traffickers is," Xi Yue said in a low voice.
The senior police officer was startled and looked at Xi Yue. "Captain, do you really believe she can tell fortunes?"
"Why don’t you start by divining for this officer?" Qin Qin stared at the older policeman, then turned her head away. "I’m not too keen to do it for someone who listens to his wife more than he respects his parents. Even if you offered me more, I wouldn’t want to."
The officer turned red in an instant, "You..."
Xi Yue probably knew about his subordinate’s family situation and narrowed his eyes as he sized up the young girl. He realized she was no different from anyone else, apart from having a better presence—just a little Swindler after all.
"Predict where those human traffickers are? Are you giving me a tough problem, Captain? It’s not impossible to calculate, but I’ll need you to come up with five million. Any extra can be considered a consolation for the fright you’ve given me today."
Qin Qin leaned back lazily in her chair, her lips curving up at the corners.
Xi Yue’s eyes narrowed further. "Miss Qin, do you really think we are going to give you five million?"
"If not, then I won’t calculate!" After all, she wasn’t losing anything. Did they really think she needed their money?
"You..." The senior officer glared at Qin Qin angrily.
"Miss Qin, it’s not a matter of whether you calculate or not, but if you don’t, you won’t be able to clear your name. Since you dare claim you’re a Fortune-teller, then you need to prove it. Only then will everyone believe that you foresaw Nannan’s abduction, not the abductors themselves," the officer said.
"Captain, aren’t you confused? Whether I calculate the future or not, and whether I’m a trafficker, don’t seem to conflict at all," Qin Qin said with a slight smile. "May I make a phone call? I no longer wish to chat idly with you; my time is precious."
"You may, but you must make it right here," Xi Yue nodded.
Qin Qin took out her phone directly and dialed Loh Lei’s number, which was picked up as soon as it rang.
"Hello, Master Qin?!"
"Boss Loh," Qin Qin called out softly.
Xi Yue and the senior officer’s eyes darkened when they heard the name Qin Qin called out.
"I’ve run into a little trouble and am wondering if you could help me out," she said.
"Just say the word," Loh Lei replied, his voice slightly tensed. He was utterly astonished that Master Qin would speak in such a manner.
"I’m currently at the Chuandu City police station, branded as a human trafficker. Could you help me clear this misunderstanding? I still need to go home for dinner." It had been a whole morning, and she was indeed hungry, with dinner waiting at home.
"Alright, then I’ll trouble you, Boss Loh!" Qin Qin hung up, facing the two men in front of her.
"You know... Boss Loh," the elderly officer said, swallowing hard, staring incredulously at Qin Qin.
Qin Qin’s eyebrows lifted slightly. "Is it so strange to know Boss Loh?"
"Not... strange." How could it not be strange? A girl accused of being a trafficker knew the boss. How could she possibly be a trafficker? Their questioning and interrogation just now—wouldn’t it cause some kind of problem?!
