Madam's Awakening Shocks The Whole World-Chapter 116 - 114: Good Intentions Repaid with Resentment 2
Chapter 116: Chapter 114: Good Intentions Repaid with Resentment 2
Nannan’s grandma lay on the ground, cursing and crying incessantly, eliciting pity from the onlookers.
"What happened?" asked a person who had just walked out of the supermarket, unaware of the situation.
"A kidnapping, a van just snatched a child a moment ago."
"Ah, is there really a child kidnapping? Just now I heard a girl in the supermarket asking an old person with a child to watch over him carefully. I never imagined that I would come out to hear about a kidnapping. Hey, isn’t she the old person the girl warned earlier? You’re saying her grandson was kidnapped, exactly as the girl predicted."
"What? Is that really true?"
"Yes, it was quite a commotion just now!"
A young woman pushed through the crowd, knelt down anxiously and said, "Mom, where’s Nannan?!"
Nannan’s grandma’s eyes were lifeless, "Nannan... Nannan has been taken away! Wuu, my Nannan! Damn human traffickers, they actually took my Nannan."
Upon hearing that her son had been kidnapped, Nannan’s mother nearly blacked out, tears falling without restraint as she shook her mother-in-law, "Mom, didn’t I ask you to watch over Nannan carefully? How could he have been taken away?"
Back at the supermarket, the words of the girl had made her feel uneasy. When she came out, she specifically reminded her mother-in-law to pay close attention to Nannan. How could he have been kidnapped just like that?!
Lu Xue Zhen and Lee Fong looked on, shaking their heads at the scene before glancing at Qin Qin, only to notice that her gaze was directed elsewhere.
The woman from the crowd who had asked for directions earlier, now with a cold smile about to leave, found her path blocked by a girl, and she was startled, "Excuse me, I need to get through, I have to leave."
"Leave for what? Trying to make a run for it?" Qin Qin asked coldly, having told herself that it wasn’t her business and she needn’t intervene, but upon seeing the little boy being snatched away, she couldn’t remain indifferent and blocked the woman’s way.
She had seen everything in the footage: these were traffickers from out of town, focusing on abducting young girls and children for sale, trading the attractive ones to others as brides or adopted sons and daughters, and the unattractive ones’ organs were trafficked. These people were utterly devoid of conscience, and she couldn’t stand by idly.
"You... what are you saying? I don’t understand," the woman said, paling, as she hurriedly rebutted. Surely this young girl couldn’t know anything, could she? No, that couldn’t be possible.
"Can’t understand? You will, once we’re at the police station."
Just as Qin Qin was about to grab the woman, a terrible roar came from behind, "It’s you, it must be you. Are you in league with those traffickers? Catch her!"
Qin Qin was taken aback when her hand was seized by the slightly rough hands of a middle-aged woman; she turned to see Nannan’s grandma gripping her own hand tightly, refusing to let go.
By the time she came back to her senses, the trafficker woman had already escaped through the crowd.
Qin Qin clenched her teeth angrily, then turned coldly to stare at Nannan’s grandma, who was still holding her hand, "Do you even know what you’re doing?"
She had intended to help catch the kidnapper, but ironically, she was mistaken for one. Absurd.
"It has to be you, it must be you. Return my Nannan to me, you monster!" Nannan’s grandma said with raging anger.
"Ma’am, what are you doing?" Lu Xue Zhen and Lee Fong hurriedly interjected. Was this old woman out of her mind? When did they become traffickers? Their kindness was being misconstrued, which was utterly ridiculous.
"Auntie, please be careful with your words." Even with the best temper, Qin Qin felt her anger rising at this moment. She had meant to help them, but instead these two were pinning the blame on her.
"Watch your words; a human trafficker like you should be killed. Give me back Nannan right now, or I’ll take you to the police station." Nannan’s grandma had made up her mind that Qin Qin was the trafficker.
Nannan’s mother also stepped forward, staring angrily at Qin Qin, "Nannan is still so young, how can you people be so cruel? Give my son back to me right away."
Qin Qin was really laughed at by anger, and with a cold smile, she stared at the two women, "I kindly reminded you just now, but you wouldn’t listen. And now, you are falsely accusing me of being a human trafficker, which is ridiculous. The woman who was asking for directions just now is the trafficker. I was trying to help you catch her. If it wasn’t for you, I could have caught the trafficker by now, and maybe your son and grandson could have been saved. It’s because of your foolish actions that you still don’t know what’s happened to your son and grandson!"
The color drained from Nannan’s grandma’s face, "Nonsense, you’re definitely the trafficker, and you even dare to argue back."
Nannan’s mother looked at Qin Qin with a heavy heart, not knowing whether what this girl said was true or not?!
"What’s going on here? What exactly happened?" A police car pulled up, and two officers stepped out, looking seriously at the crowd.
Someone had called the police, and as the officers approached, the crowd made way.
The two officers walked toward where Qin Qin was standing, puzzled by the scene.
The older officer spoke up, "What’s going on here? Wasn’t a child reported missing? What is this all about?"
"Officer, you’ve got to help us; this woman must have taken my grandson. You need to arrest her and save my grandson quickly!" Nannan’s grandma immediately began crying and begging as she saw the police arrive.
The older officer looked sternly at Qin Qin, "Did you kidnap this person’s grandson?!"
Qin Qin raised a cool, dismissive smile, "Do I look like it?"
"How can you not look like it? You were the one who said my grandson would be taken by human traffickers, and now he’s been taken. If not you, then who?" Nannan’s grandma shouted urgently.
"Just because I said your grandson would be kidnapped, that makes me a trafficker? What kind of logic is that?!" Qin Qin said sarcastically.
The older officer eyed Qin Qin, "You said their grandson would be kidnapped? How did you know?"
Qin Qin’s hand, which had been grabbed by Nannan’s grandma, flipped in a twist, pulling herself free. She patted the wrinkles on her hand before replying, "What if I said I calculated it?"
"Calculated it? Little girl, are you here to joke?" The younger officer burst out laughing, finding it amusing that the girl dared to lie in front of the police.
Qin Qin glanced at the young officer, "Joking? I’m not in the mood for jokes."
"Regardless, come with me to the police station. You all should come too," the older officer said, directing everyone to the police car.
Lu Xue Zhen and Lee Fong were also about to get in but were stopped by Qin Qin, who told them to go back and not to worry about her, assuring them she would return soon.
Lee Fong still looked worried, but Lu Xue Zhen shook her head at her, believing in Qin Qin’s ability. She knew Qin Qin would be back soon.
As she watched Qin Qin leave with the police, Lu Xue Zhen said to a worried Lee Fong, "Don’t worry, let’s go back, and don’t tell Uncle Qin—so as not to worry him."
Lee Fong nodded; she also knew that they shouldn’t let Qin An know.
