Mage Manual-Chapter 1442 - 1052: Silver Lamp Is Afraid (Third Update)
"Sword Maiden, Witch."
Outside the study door, Weiser lightly tapped her lips with her finger and smiled, "Sorry about earlier."
Diya placed her hands on her hips and angrily stared at Silver Lamp, "You broke the rules!"
"Did I break the rules?" Weiser blinked, "First, I wasn’t right in front of you; second, we didn’t have any intimate contact, just an ordinary hug. Is that not allowed?"
"You call that an ordinary hug?" Diya pointed at her weapon of crime, "You almost suffocated him just now!"
"If you could manage that," Weiser glanced at her, "I wouldn’t mind you doing the same."
Diya was so angry she wanted to bite someone, but she was defeated at every turn, so she grabbed Sonia’s arm, "Sword Maiden, you judge this!"
Sonia crossed her arms, glanced at the study, then at Weiser, and suddenly asked, "Why are you bothering Ash? You know he’s busy."
Weiser was taken aback and replied, "I’m hoping that whether he finds traces or not, he’ll hold off on explorations of Hell." She reiterated her reasons for persuading Ash earlier and finally said, "He promised to think it over."
"Good." Sonia pondered for a moment, "As for breaking rules... you did break them. But since I’m dating Ash today, a little compensation isn’t impossible. Witch, what do you think?"
Weiser was stunned.
Diya opened her mouth; she couldn’t object since she had just received compensation. But she looked at Sonia with a face full of confusion, "Sword Maiden, you’re just letting her off?"
"Otherwise?" Sonia turned to leave, "I’m going to take a bath."
Weiser and Diya watched Sonia descend to the second floor, then exchanged a glance.
Weiser was bewildered, while Diya was gleeful.
The Witch made a face at Silver Lamp, "You’re done for!" She left with a cheerful stride, leaving behind a Divine Being whose expression was stormy and uncertain.
What’s going on?
The Witch is biting me, so why didn’t the Sword Maiden take advantage and instead helped me out?
This isn’t how things should be developing!
Actually, Ash was right; Weiser did have plans targeting the Sword Maiden, including actively provoking her anger over trivial matters. For example, tonight’s hug with Ash was a test, slightly over the line, but it’s not worth causing a big commotion over.
She planned to continually provoke the Sword Maiden’s threshold; there would be two possible outcomes: First, the Sword Maiden becomes increasingly unable to withstand provocations, takes offense at minor issues, and eventually even if Ash favors her now, he’ll grow tired and naturally kick her out.
The second possibility is the Sword Maiden’s tolerance increases, fully accepting the fact that she’s submitting to Ash. If so, Weiser could only accept her fate and obediently serve Ash alongside her.
Of course, she preferred the first option, yet the way things were developing was completely unexpected—Sonia wasn’t angry or suppressing it; was she actually trying to understand her?
Impossible, absolutely impossible! 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Although they had only been together in the Distant Realm for a few months, Weiser knew clearly that Sonia was definitely not a reasonable person. She would either endure or get angry; she would never quietly accept someone encroaching on her interests! Her protective nature was ingrained to the marrow; whoever dared to touch her food, she would bite them, whoever dared to take her stuff, she would cut them!
Why is she pretending to understand me?
Is she planning revenge?
What does she want?
I just hugged Ash; it shouldn’t be this serious, right?
The more Weiser thought about it, the more frightened she became, until she gritted her teeth and once more dissipated into a pool of silver light.
At this time, Sonia had just finished undressing, stepped barefoot into the bathroom, and turned on the faucet when she heard the sound of silver light gathering behind her.
"I happen to want to take a bath too." Weiser placed her hands on Sonia’s shoulders and said affectionately, "The bathroom here is spacious enough for the two of us, let’s bathe together?"
Sonia looked at her with uncertainty, nodded indifferently, and stood under the shower, letting the water wash over her body. The water ran through her blood-red hair, glided over her smooth back, and created ripples on the floor, with strands of hair clinging to her cheeks and neck. From behind, Weiser looked at the Sword Maiden’s silhouette, feeling a strange sense of unease.
After Sonia washed her hair, she wrapped it in a small towel to keep it from falling, then slowly eased into the bathtub sprinkled with rose petals. The fatigue from a day of dating dissipated with the rising steam. Weiser waited for a while before turning off the faucet and entering the bathtub, consciously moving closer to Sonia.
Sonia glanced at her shoulder-length hair and smiled, "You’re lucky not to worry about wet hair."
The Divine Being doesn’t need to bathe; Weiser could keep herself spotless and impervious to water or fire if she wished. But bathing was just relaxation for her, something she’d occasionally do with others.
"What’s so good about it." Weiser picked up her hair with her fingers and said softly, "Not fearing moisture just reminds me I’m not human; my body’s every part tells me I’m just an inhuman Divine Being."
"Although I trust Ash, my resurrection from the Divine Being is already a once-in-a-lifetime Wonder; even he might not be able to restore my mage’s body." Weiser leaned against Sonia, her eyes complicated, "I really envy you, Sword Maiden."
"What’s there to envy about me?"
"The Witch is a little girl; even if she splits off Liss in the future, it’ll be hard for Ash to emotionally cope; Vishi has the same issue—Ash can’t overcome the moral barrier; and I am not even human." Weiser mentioned wistfully, "In the end, you are most likely to become the sole winner."
Sonia glanced at Weiser; her gaze was nuanced, filled with the teasing sense of ’I know you’re flattering me with nonsense, but you say it interestingly.’
She raised her hand, gently caressing Silver Lamp’s cheek with the back of her hand, then moved down along the neck, pausing at the trap that had ensnared Ash earlier, her fingers gradually applying force. Weiser’s heart skipped a beat, but she maintained her composure and said, "But more importantly, Ash keeps you in his thoughts no matter who he’s with."
"Oh?" The Sword Maiden raised an eyebrow.
"The Witch, Vishi, and I developed the Personality Analysis Model to track and analyze any shifts in our personalities. Ash’s first response was fearing exclusion, wondering why you weren’t involved." Weiser spoke sincerely, "But we simply didn’t want to burden you, considering neither of you is skilled in this area, and we aren’t sure if it’s even beneficial, so we didn’t inform Ash either."
Sonia quietly watched her; Weiser didn’t dare move, her heart racing. When Ash said "I don’t hate you, I’m just scared" earlier, she hadn’t felt this apprehensive.
As if time had stretched or just seconds had passed, Sonia lowered her hand, sank into the bathtub, and grumbled, "At least he has a bit of conscience..."
Weiser finally relaxed, feeling completely at ease. Unexpectedly, Sonia spoke, "I want to have milk coffee, could you fetch it from the fridge?"
"Sure." Silver Lamp’s voice was cheerful, even before she finished speaking, the silver light had opened the second-floor fridge door, bringing two cans of milk coffee to her hand.
Sonia accepted it, popped the lid off, and gestured for a clink. When Weiser tapped the can, she felt a tremendous force from the opposite side, intent on sending her milk coffee flying!
Weiser’s fingers glistened with silver light as she steadied her drink, realizing Sonia was already sipping, as if nothing had happened. After this small incident, Weiser felt more at ease, obediently sitting beside Sonia, basking in the Serenity of the bath.
