Magus: Rise of the Darkness Empress-Chapter 102: Ch : Gaining a Cursed Magic Sword
With an inhumane shout, the old man with blood red eyes charged at Weiss and swang his large crimson great sword at her. Weiss did not even try to block the attack and immediately dodged.
But the man was relentless and chased after her. His sword tried to cleave Weiss in two several times but Weiss managed to either dodge or parry all of the attacks.
Actually she mostly dodged them. The strength that this man currently had in his berserk state was too much. So trying to parry his killing blows was way too dangerous.
But she was not just dodging and defending. Weiss also made sure to land quite a few blows on the man and among them, some of the hits did manage to land fatal blows.
But still, the berserk man did not even slowed down with these wounds. He was almost like a zombie. His fighting style was very simplistic but also very ferocious.
Weiss could have ended the battle in a blink of an eye if she had went all out with her various techniques, but she did not do so.
The reason for this was simple. She was way more interested in learning about the function of the blood red sword instead of quickly winning the battle. And as currently this old man was willing to be her test subject, why would Weiss try to stop him and kill him. That would not benefit her at all in any way.
This was also Weiss’s first encounter with a peak level knight. So she was also satisfied to see that with her current strength and techniques, she should have no trouble in defeating a peak level knight even if a real peak level knight was 4 or 5 times stronger than this person.
...
After exchanging hundreds of blows, Weiss looked down on the berserk old man who was now crawling on the ground. Weiss had cut off both of his legs so this was the only way he was able to still move around at the current time.
His right hand was still holding the sword but his left hand was now gone. The man had also lost so much blood during the fight, that at the current moment, no blood was coming out of his body.
By now, after fighting for so long, Weiss had managed to find out most of the things that she wanted to know. This sword was definitely not a knight’s artifact but a magic item. And it would be better to call this thing a cursed item.
After activating it, the old man had lost all his sanity and had sacrificed 50 percent of his life core to the sword in order to gain the power boost.
So even if he was able to kill Weiss, still he would drop from his current realm of a mid level knight and at the same time, it would be almost impossible for him to live for more than a week after this.
So this powerful cursed sword was not actually a life saving trump card and instead it was a life taking trump card.
If there was anyone else other than Weiss facing off against it, they would have definitely died and be chopped into pieces. But unfortunately, this sword was not strong enough to defeat Weiss.
Now that this old man had lost any value he had as a test subject, Weiss decided to get rid of him.
She did even use her sword and just stomped on his head with her foot. Immediately his head was crushed into countless pieces and he died. His body also finally stopped moving.
Weiss then picked up the cursed sword and immediately in her mind various murderous voices started speaking a lot of violent things. But Weiss did not care about any of that and managed to easily supress these voices with her willpower without much trouble.
Then she finally started to check the sword from various sides. In terms of Blacksmithing, this sword was nothing special. It was even a little crudely made which was clear work of an ameture Blacksmith.
But the quality of the sword was irrelevant. What mattered the most was the magic that was inside this sword. It did not matter how crudely made the body of the sword was as long as the Magic inside it was powerful.
After checking it a little, Weiss wrapped this sword with a cloth and took it with her. As this was also a magical item, there was no way Weiss would be able to analyse it in a short period of time.
So for the time being, she kept this sword with her and she was going to do more research on it after going back to the Souran territory.
Then she went back inside the treasury again. Now it had been almost destroyed because of the rampage of the berserk old man.
But still, the magic items which were inside the treasury had managed to survive without too much damage to any of them. So Weiss did manage to get her hands on them which was her main objective anyways.
Among the magic items, there were one magic axe, three magic swords, 3 pairs of magic daggers and a few more miscellaneous items.
So overall, this was a massive gain for Weiss. So she immediately packed up all the magic weapons but she did not even give a second look to the gold or valuable artworks that were also in the treasury.
...
After Weiss was done looting, she used her senses to find the other two ladies and went to meet with them. Even when she was busy reading books or was busy fighting a powerful peak level knight, she had been keeping an eye on both Elise and Peria continuosly.
So even though Weiss had not seen it with her own eyes, she had sensed when the two ladies had came in contact with the count, how long or actually how short their battle had lasted and how the count died in the hand of Elise.
So everything had went perfectly. Now the ladies just needed to leave the castle using the same way and they would be done. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Obviously with battles happening everywhere, the people of the castle had realised that the castle was under attack by Mysteries attackers.
But as there had been no orders from the higher ups and as the people living in the castle were fearful of their lives, they just continued to hide without trying to go against these mysterious attackers at all.
That was how the castle of Count Dorek with a very old history fell by the hands of only three powerful ladies.
