Chapter 810: Join In Too

Chapter 810

While all this was going on, Grey sat calmly atop Noir without a care in the world. ๐™›๐’“๐“ฎ๐’†๐”€๐’†๐™—๐“ท๐’๐™ซ๐’†๐™ก.๐’„๐“ธ๐“ถ

His eyes were shut as he absorbed the surrounding mana into his core, hastily attempting to replenish it in time to join the fight.

He wasnโ€™t worried about Thalos; he knew how powerful the gargoyle was.

As a Primordial-ranked being, Thalos could handle himself and endure for a long whileโ€”at least until something shifted in their favor or he outright won.

But the others... They were human.

Against the leaders, even if ten of them grouped together, it wouldnโ€™t change much.

The leaders were called leaders for a reason.

Monsters in their respective domains.

Grey wasnโ€™t about to lose strong and loyal allies for nothing.

Hence, he hurried his cultivation, carefully regulating the flow of mana so as not to cause internal complications.

His sword possessed a feature that allowed him to store allโ€”or even half of his mana if he wished, which he had done before stepping foot into the coliseum earlier that day.

He could have reclaimed that stored reserve and entered the battle immediately.

But if he did, he wouldnโ€™t have a hidden stash left to rely on should he become drained mid-fight.

If he consumed his pills instead, he would only gain five minutes of restored mana.

And he was absolutely certain that five minutes wouldnโ€™t be enough to turn the tideโ€”especially against opponents of this caliber.

Secondly, he needed the others to land a few solid hits and perhaps weakenโ€”or even miraculously eliminate the leaders before he stepped in.

That would make things far less troublesome once he joined the fray.

For months, the others had anticipated this day.

He wasnโ€™t about to steal their spotlight.

Not now. Not today.

He would allow them their revenge.

His primary and sole target was one individual.

Orion Stormvale.

The rest, he didnโ€™t particularly care about.

As long as he brought down the so-called warrior closest to godhood, he would be satisfied.

The others could claim whatever vengeance they desired afterward.

But if he sensed anyone falling into a life-threatening situationโ€”

He wouldnโ€™t hesitate to intervene.

Low mana or not.

Noir, on the other hand, was simmering inwardly while watching the others fight.

โ€™You know what? Screw you, Grey! Everyone else is having fun, and youโ€™ve got me acting like your chair while you cultivate?โ€™

โ€™And guard too,โ€™ Grey replied internally without breaking his concentration.

Sensing the familiarโ€™s irritation intensifying, Grey quickly addedโ€”

โ€™... Look. Your role here is critical. I canโ€™t trust anyone else with this. Theyโ€™re all out there fighting.

If Iโ€™m attacked while deeply immersed in cultivation, I need you to shield me.

Youโ€™re ruthlessโ€”you wonโ€™t hesitate before taking a life. Thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m entrusting my safety to you. I trust you, Noir.โ€™

The familiar listened quietly, its expression unchanged.

It remained silent for a moment before snarling inside the mageโ€™s mind.

โ€™As if Iโ€™d care if your head got chopped off. Tsk!โ€™

It paused thoughtfully before continuing,

โ€™But yeah... you need to be at full strength for whatever happens next...โ€™

Severing the mental link, Noir narrowed its gaze at Orion as an uneasy sensation crept through its fur.

โ€™Especially since I can sense something off about himโ€”both his body and his aura.

Thereโ€™s something strange. Heโ€™s hiding something. We need you at your peak, Grey... because I donโ€™t think anyone here can handle whatever trump card he decides to reveal.โ€™

In the north booth, the trio finally settled in, watching the unfolding chaos from various angles across the arena with neutral expressions.

"So we arenโ€™t going to look for where that lad sent the thousands of spectators?" Beatrix asked with a scowl, her eyes fixed on the leader.

There was a brief pause before Ken responded.

"I forgot to inform you earlier. I received a mental transmission from a guard stationed in the northeast.

Thousands of people began appearing across a wide field. Obviously, theyโ€™re the spectators from beforeโ€”which means theyโ€™re safe."

Hearing that, Beatrix let out a quiet sigh of relief.

She shifted her attention from the battlefield to the spectator stands, noticing that only a handful of individuals still remained seated there.

โ€™Why didnโ€™t he teleport these people as well? What exactly is he planning?โ€™

Elder Ron turned his gaze toward Grey, then toward the wolf he sat upon.

โ€™A mage, eh? Now I understand why what he did felt so familiar. Heโ€™s a mageโ€”and quite a powerful one compared to the rest... This is bad.โ€™

In the perfectly intact west booth, Pluck sat with a deep frown etched across his face.

He cast a brief glance at the leader of the Watcherโ€™s Clan, then at the students huddled in a corner, silently observing the battle unfolding before them.

His eyes then shifted toward the dozen guards standing at the back of the booth like motionless statues.

"Iโ€™ve decided," Pluck finally announced, drawing everyoneโ€™s attention as his gaze narrowed on Greyโ€™s back in the distance.

"Decided what?"

Pluck rose to his feet, a grin spreading across his face as he began walking forward with measured, deliberate strides.

"Iโ€™d love to take that ladโ€™s headโ€”for what he did to Oscroch and for the massacre of hundreds of Behemoth members."

The leader of the Watcherโ€™s Clan froze, staring at the vice leaderโ€™s back in disbelief.

"What? Do you realize this could spark a war between the Aetherian faction and our own?"

Without turning around, Pluck replied coolly,

"Who would find out? Besides, heโ€™s clearly the mastermind behind this assault. If I do this, the Aetherian faction will end up owing us."

The Watcherโ€™s Clan leader opened his mouth, then closed it.

He tried again, about to voice his concernโ€”

But before he could, Pluck drove his fist into the front entrance of the booth with tremendous force, causing it to crumble instantly.

"Time to join the fun," he smirked as he calmly began walking toward an unsuspecting Grey.

The leader of the Watcherโ€™s Clan slowly shook his head, a chilling sense of dread creeping up his spine.

โ€™This is bad. Even if youโ€™re the strongest vice leader of the Behemoth Clan... I can feel something incredibly off about that kid. How on earth didnโ€™t you sense it too?!โ€™
