Chapter 811
In another corner of the coliseum, Selene could be seen standing alone with her whip in her hand while staring forward.
Leo and Noelle were calmly walking towards her with the girl holding her own whip in hand while the vice leader of the clan held his usual sleek, thin black cane in his hand.
The cane had a small golden lion carved on it which he held.
Soon enough, they were before the leader of the Aetherborn clan who stared at them with coldness in her eyes.
Staring closer, this was the first time Noelle saw her mum unsheath her whip and now; she couldn’t help but feel a little dread in her heart.
The whip looked to be twirling and moving in her grip as if it was alive or... sentient even.
’Doesn’t matter. Today is the day.’ Noelle hyped herself inwardly as she held her whip tighter.
At the same time, she and Leo stopped shy of a metre away from Selene who still didn’t bat an eyelid at them.
"Ready?" Leonardo asked without even turning around as he pointed his cane forward, horizontally.
Noelle didn’t reply as she was inhaling and exhaling softly. Trying to calm her wildly beating heart while steeling her resolve.
Without waiting for her answer, Leo leaned forward a bit. Ki coiled around his legs and then like a spring unbound, he exploded forward.
He kicked up dust in his wake with his movement.
Noelle didn’t wait as she swirled Ki around her feet compressing it around her soles and then with an explosive bang, she also exploded forward.
Not as fast as Leo, but she definitely managed to make it in time as the duo attacked from the flanks.
Leo didn’t actually look like he was going to bring out a weapon anytime soon as he still held his cane in his hand.
Noelle on the other hand yanked her hand behind her back for a moment as ki flowed into the whip in her grip.
In unison, she hurled her whip forward causing it to whistle through the air loudly.
Simultaneously, Leo spun around and swung his leg in a swift roundhouse kick towards the woman.
Selene remained rooted as her eyes darted around catching sight of the two attacks heading her way.
With a sigh, she let go of her whip and then spun around to meet Leo’s kick.
Lifting her hand, the kick landed on her palm with a loud boom.
The ground splintered beneath her weight as a gust of wind was kicked up into the air. Selene didn’t even move an inch as she maintained her cold indifference while blocking the strike.
Simultaneously, the whip she had let go suddenly began floating in the air and as if it had a mind of its own, the weapon moved through the air and collided with Noelle’s while mid air.
BANG—!
The air quaked loudly as the whip struck with destructive force shaking the whole area around them for a moment.
A hair breath crack appeared on Noelle’s whip causing her eyes to light up in worry.
Swiftly leaping away, she created distance between her and the weapon.
Meanwhile, using the woman’s palm as a foothill; Leo leaped away in time so as to avoid any counter attack that would likely erupt now.
But luckily, there was none.
Standing back to back with her whip, Selene narrowed her eyes towards Leo who was getting ready to attack at any moment now.
"It’s a shame," The woman began speaking.
Not wanting to give her time to finish her words, Leo darted towards her with all his speed that in the twinkle of an eye, he was before her already.
His cane was swung from below with his entire force.
Selene stared at the cane approaching her and effortlessly pivoted to the side getting around the vice leader.
"... I actually did like you somewhat."
Bang—!
Selene exploded from where she stood finally making a move for the first time.
She closed the distance between them in a flash with her long legs coming in hot from the side with destructive power.
Powering his body with Ki, Leo hastily ducked just in the nick of time as the air where his head was a moment ago detonated in a clamorous bang.
With the strength behind that kick, it was evident that if it had caught him, he might not have come out of it easily.
Leo expeditiously swung his cane from below in a vertical line and from it, a ki slash burst out with incredible force.
Without even batting an eyelid, Selene hurled her outstretched leg back down and shattered the ki slash like it was just fragile glass.
At the same time,Noelle was locked in a fierce battle with her mother’s whip.
No matter what she tried to do, no matter how hard she tried to dodge or get around the whip; it always countered her easily as if possessing a mind of its own.
All her efforts were in vain forcing her into a combat with the whip and not letting her move ahead to support Leo.
"I will have to make you pay for coalescing my daughter into this nonsense of yours." Selene sneered loudly.
Before she was even able to move, Leo did the honours for her and materialized before her with a powerful punch streaking towards her face.
Leaning her whole body backwards, the punch whooshed past her.
In one fluid movement, like a serpent of some kind; Selene moved blitzingly fast smashing her toes into Leo’s elbow with incredible force.
Then twirled sharply around and hammered her foot into his neck with the force of a siege ram.
The vice clan leader was lifted cleanly off his feet and hurled into the distance.
Holding her hand in the air, her whip flew into it with break neck speed. Without losing a beat, she hauled the whip into the air with all the strength she had.
BANG—!
The whip let out as it struck the air with thunderous force and then from it, a world splitting Ki slash burst out and rocketed towards the hurling Leo at lightning speed.
