Magus Supremacy-Chapter 818
In another corner of the coliseum, a two-on-one skirmish was currently ongoing, and it had suddenly taken quite the dramatic turn.
Orion was trapped.
A glowing sigil appeared beneath his feet, anchoring him to the spot, while Thalos was coming in hot with a devastating punch from behind.
Simultaneously, the gargoyle's greatsword was rushing downwards from above, aiming to cleave him in two.
"Let's see how you slip past this, you traitor!" Thalos shouted, his voice vibrating with raw, unfiltered energy.
Orion just exhaled sharply, his composure remains unshakeable despite the pincer attack.
Spinning around with fluid grace, he crossed his forearms across his face while coating the skin with a dense layer of Ki.
BAM—!
Thalos' punch landed with the staggering force of three bullet trains; the impact was more than enough to send the man hurling backwards across the arena floor.
The timing of the blow was just right, as the ominous glow beneath his feet erupted into a fiery mini-volcano a split second after he moved.
And at the same time, Thalos' greatsword struck the barren ground with incredible force, shaking the entire foundation of the coliseum tremendously.
Still sliding backwards from the momentum, Orion smirked while twirling his hands, which throbbed with a dull, persistent ache from the collision.
"If this is all you both have to offer, this won't be that much fun," he taunted.
"Oh, really?" Fenrir roared, coming in from the flank and drawing Orion's attention toward a blazing beam of lightning manifesting from his palms.
Booom—!
The electrical discharge exploded forward with blazing speed, ionizing the air in its path.
Yet, Orion remained unfazed as he leaned his head to the side, avoiding the crackling beam by the skin of his teeth.
The attack was so incredibly close that he could feel the searing heat radiating from the passing energy.
At the same time, Thalos was already directly above him, descending with a heel kick that possessed the power to split mountains apart.
Casting a quick glance at the gargoyle looming above, Orion simply extended his palm outward in a casual gesture.
From his hand, a massive ball of condensed Ki shot out, traveling twice as fast as a lightning strike.
Wam—!
The concussive attack smashed the gargoyle out of the air, interrupting his descent.
Whooosh—!
Orion hurriedly tilted his head to the side, allowing the massive greatsword to rush past his ear with incredible velocity.
Even though he had avoided a direct injury, the blade still managed to nick his hair, allowing a few severed strands to glide through the air.
His attention was briefly focused on his hair drifting toward the ground when Fenrir took advantage of the distraction and swiftly crossed the distance between them both.
Two jagged bolts of lightning burst out with incredible speed, detonating directly in front of Orion and causing the man to stagger backwards for a momentary lapse.
Without letting up his assault, Fenrir charged his feet with lightning and blitzed to Orion's side while sending two more lightning bolts flying toward his midsection.
Spinning around, the warrior was about to destroy the incoming attacks when, from above, a loud scream echoed through the stands.
Casting a quick glance upward, he could see Thalos' greatsword rushing at him with double its normal speed, fueled by gravity and spite.
Unfortunately, he wouldn't be able to avoid the blade entirely; hence, he just lifted one arm above his head while pouring half his Ki into the limb to form a physical shield.
Clang—!
The heavy steel smashed into his guard with incredible force, driving his hand downwards an inch or two.
He was momentarily taken aback by the gargoyle's sudden increase in strength.
But something else demanded his immediate attention.
The lightning bolts!
Swinging his free hand forward, a rush of visual Ki burst out, colliding with the bolts and veering them away from his body.
"Don't forget about me!" A loud scream was heard from above.
Before Orion could even look upward to track the source, Thalos was already upon him once more.
The gargoyle's feet smashed into the flat blade of his own sword that was now lodged an inch into Orion's skin.
Booom—!
The ground exploded beneath Orion's feet as a flash of genuine pain crossed his face for a split second.
Blood splattered into the air from the shallow wound where the blade was stuck.
Fortunately for him, his Ki was working overtime, reinforcing his bone and muscle to block the blade from severing his arm off entirely.
While he was unknowingly concentrated on the gargoyle's pressure, Fenrir appeared directly in front of him.
Leaping off the ground, the mage landed a double kick to the chest that simultaneously sent the man sliding backwards into the dust.
Leaping off from the flat of the sword, Thalos held out his hand, and the heavy weapon flew instantly back into his calloused grasp.
Without missing a single beat, he swung the blade out in a wide arc, sending a crescent slash of jagged energy shooting forward with incredible speed.
Orion gritted his teeth, his jaw tightening as he swung his own hand out, manifesting a counter-slash of Ki.
The two forces collided with a violent intensity, and the opposing attacks cancelled each other out with a deafening boom that kicked up a massive, swirling cloud of dust.
'Seriously though, why is this man not going down? I'm running low on mana at quite the astonishing rate,' Fenrir scowled inwardly, his frustration mounting.
He began hurling consecutive lightning bolts into the thick cloud of smoke, hoping to catch Orion off guard while his vision was obscured.
All he heard in response were a few muffled explosions and then…
Swooosh—!
Orion darted out of the smoke completely unhurt and moving with a breakneck speed that Fenrir was unable to reply to in time.
The man appeared before the mage in a jiffy, his presence overwhelming.
Ki exploded in a brilliant aura around his hand, which he swung forward with all his might, seemingly splitting the air apart for a second as a devastating punch streaked towards Fenrir.
Crashing down between them at the last possible moment was Thalos.
With his gauntleted hand wide open, he clamped his fingers tight onto Orion's incoming fist.
BOOOM!
With a little visible struggle, the gargoyle managed to halt the progress of the fist, even as the ground beneath the duo caved in from the sheer pressure of the impact.
Orion's expression didn't change one bit; he remained stoic as he stared at Thalos' hand gripping his own and then, he felt a shift in the air.
A sweeping kick from below headed directly towards Orion's abdomen.
But displaying surprising agility, the man twisted his frame around, avoiding the kick while his hand was still caught firmly in Thalos' vice-like grip.
In a surprising turn of events, Thalos' leg curled back around with neck-breaking speed, smashing into Orion's side with the concentrated strength of a heavy siege ram.
Orion didn't even have time to register the sharp pain shooting through his body before a fleeting smirk flashed past his face.
A crackling, high-pitched sound was rushing his way.
Lightly turning his head to the side, he could see fifty lightning projectiles heading his way, launched by a desperate Fenrir.
Flooding the hand gripped by Thalos with all his available Ki, Orion's muscles bulged incredulously under his skin.
With a sudden, explosive burst of physical power, he flung the massive gargoyle aside, sending him crashing directly into all the lightning projectiles.
The projectiles detonated upon contact, engulfing Thalos in a chaotic rain of sparks and electrical discharge.
