Chapter 819

In another side of the coliseum, the Aetherborn clan was in shambles as Leo and Noelle decided to team up against Selene.

But the first few seconds of the battle was already a mess as Leo was sent hurling backwards and following after him was an earth splitting Ki slash rocketing his way.

Grinding his teeth, the vice principal of the Aetherian academy smashed his cane into the ground digging the tip into it with all his might.

This dragged his body to a skidding halt. Without losing momentum, he charged his legs with Ki and exploded to the side at the right time.

The ki slash from Selene smashed into where he stood and split the ground in two.

Dust billowed into the air.

Still, Leo didn’t care as he proceeded to lunge forward with astonishing speed.

From the side, Noelle too was rushing forward.

Without the whip keeping her busy, she was able to make an attack.

Swinging her own whip forward, she sent a ki slash towards her mother who didn’t even bother taking her gaze off the charging vice leader.

The ki slash raced towards her at full speed. Yet, with just the flick of her wrist, she sent her own ki slash rushing forward.

With a loud clang, her slash destroyed Noelle’s and continued onward towards her daughter.

Leo on the other hand, just finally reached Selene’s position.

Making sure that there was a distance of two metres between them, he began prodding her with his cane.

Each thrust of his cane sent a ki bullet tearing towards her yet she only calmly shattered the attack with her whip.

Before Leo could attack, she hauled her whip towards him with neck break speed.

Before the whip could connect, Noelle appeared before Leo and then proceeded to swing her own whip colliding with that of her mum’s.

A loud bang echoed in the air as the two whips collided with one another while the mother and daughter glared daggers at eachother.

Quickly taking advantage of the opportunity Noelle presented to him, Leo slid to the side and then swung his cane forward producing a straight ki slash speeding towards Selene.

With practiced, effortless grace, the woman twirled around like a ballet dancer allowing the slash to smash into where she stood tearing a deep gouge through it.

For some reason, the two attackers were keeping their distance and only sending projectiles towards the woman while only Noelle pressured with her whip.

Since the weapons was lengthy, it was the only thing that could try to hit the leader but with minimal movement, the leader was able to block each and every of the attack her daughter made.

It didn’t matter if it was a different style. Be it a thrust, a slash and a swing; every single one was blocked while she kept her eyes on Leo dodging everything he sent her way.

"What happened? Why aren’t you taking things seriously, Leo?" Selene asked with a frown on her face.

Leaning her head to the side, she allowed Noelle’s whip rush past her face.

Her eyes were still firmly fixed on Leo who was looking for an opening.

"What makes you think I’m not taking things seriously?" Leo asked as he stabbed his cane into the air and then twisted sharply sending a whistling small drill of Ki shooting towards the woman.

Vaulting backwards, she let the drill shatter into where she was.

"... You are... were my vice leader. I know wait you can and cannot do. You aren’t even drawing your weapon. So how can you say that you are taking things seriously? Or... are you stalling?"

Selene tilted her head to the side both to get a closer look at Leo and also dodge Noelle’s whip.

"Why aren’t you concentrating on me, mother?! Look at me too damn it!" Noelle shrieked loudly as she proceeded to continue swinging her whip from side to side.

Even with that, Selene didn’t even cast a glance at her.

It was like her daughter was just a background drop as all her attention was fixed on Leo.

This didn’t mean that she just stood there; she was still dodging Noelle’s attack.... Just not acknowledging her presence at all.

And that had been the case since the start of the battle.

Leaping off the ground, Leo clamped his hands tightly on his cane and then hurled it forward like a sword causing a huge slash of Ki to burst out with incredible speed.

"Stop acting like you know me!" Leo shouted as the ki slash raced towards Selene.

Twisting her whole body sharply, the slash hurtled past her with tremendous speed that it even cleaved the ground as it raced by.

Her eyes widened.

Because right in front of her was Leo who smirked while hauling his cane towards her head.

Selene’s whip coiled backwards and was ready to bite into Leo’s back when he sharply sidestepped letting the whip glide past him.

Darting into the scene, was Noelle with a slash of her whip.

Selene just leaned her head to the side while avoiding eye contact as usual.

"Why? Why won’t you look at me?! Why won’t you acknowledge my pre—"

"Because you are weak." Selene interrupted Noelle’s words.

"Wha—?"

"Yes. You are too weak to even deserve a glance from me talk more getting my full attention. You want me to focus on you? Then prove you are worthy of my attention you weak piece of garbage. Heck! I even regret the day I gave birth to you." Selene spat angrily.

Noelle froze in shock as she kept staring at her mother. Mouth quivering and even hands shaking in... she doesn’t even know why she was shaking.

"Now, now. That’s not a nice thing to say to your own child. Is it?" Leo suddenly appeared before Selene in a flash.

His cane was swung diagonally towards the woman.

With a raise of her hand, she casually blocked the cane only for her eyes to widen as Leo twisted the head of the cane with his other hand and then with a loud,

Shiiiing—!

A slender sword slid out swiftly.

"You wanted me to be serious, here you go."

With a powerful swing of his wrist, the sword cut through the air as it raced for Selene’s neck.
