Magus Supremacy-Chapter 829
Chapter 829
Rowen stood before Judy, Brook, Gunther, and Mada, his aura peaking in intense fury.
The reality of the situation was starting to set in—he had just been blasted away like a ragdoll.
Him? A leader of the Iron Fur Clan? A high-level Stage Eight warrior?
It was utterly unacceptable.
Before the others could even coordinate their next move, Rowen moved forward like a bat out of hell.
His speed was so great it looked as though he had simply teleported across the distance.
However, one great thing about the Crimson Lotus members was that they weren’t unorganized.
They swiftly got to work as the air pressure changed around their flank.
Brook expeditiously thrust his massive shield forward in an attempt to intercept a hit from the bulky man.
But as if learning from his previous mistake, Rowen paused mid-lunge and instead swung his heavy leg toward the shield user’s exposed side with astonishing speed.
Seeing the sudden shift in momentum, Judy snapped back to her senses.
The shy, timid demeanor from earlier was now nowhere to be seen; in its place, a deadly, predatory look appeared on her face.
Her eyes narrowed into a pair of slits, featuring a tiny, focused black dot in her irises.
With explosive speed, she surged forward, leaving nothing but trailing dust in her wake.
Appearing before Rowen in a heartbeat, she swung her spear like a baseball bat, smashing into him with a thunderous bang that caused the ground beneath them to crack massively.
Although his leg wasn’t moved away entirely by the impact, the distraction gave Brook enough time to leap backwards, allowing the man’s huge foot to crash harmlessly into the earth.
Snapping out of his daze, Gunther swirled Ki to his feet and rocketed forward.
He instantly crossed the distance and appeared before the leader.
Without losing a shred of momentum, his sword lashed out from below; a sweeping force of visible Ki burst out, ready to crash into Rowen.
But with blistering agility, Rowen vaulted sideways, narrowly dodging the energy slash.
With a sharp twist of her heel, Judy reversed her grip on her weapon.
The spear was sent thrusting toward Rowen’s neck at blazing speed.
He leaned backwards just in time, the spearhead cutting through the air inches above him.
Rowen’s leg coiled forward like a compressed spring, ready to smash into the woman’s abdomen.
At the perfect moment, Brook appeared in the path of the kick with his shield pushed out.
Unfortunately, the speed of the kick was too great for him to simply pull back; the strike landed on the surface of the shield with a piercing, metallic ring.
BANG—!
Knowing what usually came after hitting that shield, Rowen pressed his feet on the ground, ready to dash away in time.
But before he could, Judy moved like a slippery eel, appearing behind him with a bash of her spear rocketing toward his spine.
Now, he was torn on how to react.
His eyes darted to his flank, wanting to retreat in that direction, only to see Gunther had already anticipated the move and was coming in hot with a cross-slash of his swords.
’Curse you all!’
Channeling massive amounts of Ki to his feet, Rowen slammed them into the ground with tremendous force.
A mini-earthquake coursed through the terrain, the tremor sending Judy flying off her feet.
Gunther skid backwards due to the violent shaking of the earth, but unfortunately for the leader, Brook pressed his feet into the ground harder.
Being the primary shield of the clan, he had learned to anchor himself to the earth to receive crushing blows.
He had been dealt worse than this.
BOOOM—!
A bright light burst out from the shield’s core, followed by a three-meter-wide shockwave that shattered against Rowen’s body.
The force sent him rising from the ground and hurling into the distance once again.
The ground shattered with every violent bounce of his frame.
Slamming his massive hands into the dirt, Rowen hastily anchored himself down to stop his momentum.
Judy was already there, crashing down from above with her spear raised high over her head.
How she had swiftly transitioned into this state of battle-lust was still shocking.
Earlier, she couldn’t even look others in the face, and within a minute, she was attacking Rowen constantly with lethal intent.
Seeing the woman heading his way from above, Rowen sprang to the side, expecting her to crash into the dirt.
But she didn’t hit the ground.
Instead, she kicked the air forcefully, changing her trajectory mid-flight to chase after the leader while charging her spear with a brilliant glow of Ki.
The tip of the spear lit up with a blinding, incandescent intensity.
Then,
TWIIIP—!
A concentrated beam of Ki burst out with incredible velocity, cutting through the air like a needle.
Rowen snarled, his expression one of pure disdain as he lifted his palm in front of his face.
He tanked the searing beam like it was nothing, absorbing the heat and pressure without moving a single inch from his spot.
Blood poured from the corner of Gunther’s mouth, but he ignored the copper tang of exhaustion.
Pushing his weary muscles to their absolute limit, he appeared before Rowen in a flash, delivering a desperate diagonal slash aimed directly at the leader’s neck.
Leaning backwards to such an extreme extent that the back of his head nearly touched the scorched earth, Rowen placed his palms on the ground for leverage.
He then swung his feet upward like compressed strings suddenly released, the heavy boots streaking through the air toward Gunther’s midsection.
Dashing forward with every remaining drop of Ki in his reserves, Brook moved to intervene.
His shield was already in place, positioned perfectly to absorb the strike and release it back in the form of a devastating kinetic shockwave.
However, Rowen’s eyeballs shifted toward the shield-bearer, and a predatory smirk appeared on his face.
He suddenly twirled his body against the ground, altering his momentum entirely; now, his leg was descending from above in a crushing axe-kick.
’Shoot,’ Brook cursed inwardly, unable to adjust his heavy shield in time to meet the overhead blow.
Coating his hands with all the Ki he could possibly manifest, Mada could be seen shooting forward, placing himself directly in the path of the falling kick to protect the others.
BAM—!
BOOOM—!
CRACK—!
The sound barrier shattered in an instant as Rowen’s heavy leg smashed into Mada’s raised arms.
Fresh blood spritzed from the young man’s mouth.
Even with his protective Ki barrier fully active, the sheer force of the kick was simply too immense to withstand.
At the end of the day, Mada was smashed into the ground with shattered hands, the bones giving way under the mountainous pressure.
A five-meter-wide crater erupted beneath his broken body instantly, sending dust and jagged rocks flying into the air.
Seeing his brother’s agonizing condition, Gunther gnashed his teeth angrily, his vision turning red as he glared at Rowen.
The leader of the Iron Fur clan flipped back to his feet with a small, imperceptible grin on his face, looking entirely refreshed.
"That’s the best the children of Orion, along with some strangers, could muster?" he taunted, his voice echoing with a mad, triumphant grin.
Panting heavily while drawing upon the dwindling energy in his fatigued body, Gunther rose up once more.
Beside him, Brook began rhythmically banging the metallic surface of his shield, a look of grim determination etched into his features.
He had unknowingly charged his palm with a dense layer of Ki before striking the shield.
And before their eyes, the ancient surface of the shield lit up with a pulsating, golden light, which could only mean one thing.
A massive shockwave blast was coming!
