Magus Supremacy-Chapter 893: Ruin
Chapter 893
The next day arrived quickly.
The trio had spent the night chatting, trying to catch up and share vital information; hence, Grey didn’t get a single wink of sleep.
... Not like he truly needed it, though.
Ever since he had remained unconscious for three weeks, it was as if he were afraid to close his eyes for any extended duration.
Besides, his physical form felt completely refreshed.
Ever since he became a warrior, the more stages he climbed, the less rest his constitution required.
And now that he was a stage eight Yun warrior, he could easily stay awake for an entire week if he desired.
The moment the first crack of dawn appeared, the trio found themselves back in the same cave where Grey had initially materialized.
Turning around, Elara stared at a stoic-looking Randin, who stood with his arms crossed firmly across his chest.
"Thank you," the elf croaked out, her eyes becoming moist. "Thank you for housing me these past few months."
Randin smiled, a rare softness breaking through his rugged exterior.
"It’s not a problem. Besides, I should be the one thanking you. After the Otherworlders attacked decades ago, I was left all alone—just wandering the planet in solitude while mumbling to myself until Grey brought you along. I—I finally had the company of another person after years of isolation. It felt nice, even though you could be arrogant and sometimes annoying,..."
As he uttered that word, Elara frowned at him before casting a quick glance at Grey, who seemed entirely indifferent to what was being said.
She blushed for a moment before nodding toward the dwarf.
"You are welcome. Besides, this is not a permanent goodbye: I will be back. I just want to pay a quick trip back home, that’s all."
Randin nodded understandingly.
"Knock yourself out."
Grey looked at the dwarf, and the two experienced warriors exchanged silent, respectful nods.
"We will be back," he promised.
He then waved his hand into the air, effortlessly conjuring an ashen portal that hummed with latent power.
Elara gawked at the display, her jaw dropping.
"Woah! You got another affinity?"
Grey didn’t offer a verbal reply; instead, he simply shrugged.
The mage then pointed toward the swirling rift, signaling for her to enter.
Elara took a few hesitant steps forward before pausing and turning back to face Randin one last time.
Before the mage could say anything more, the elf dashed toward the dwarf and threw herself on him, her eyes brimming with tears.
"Thank you once more."
Randin was taken aback by the sudden affection.
He blinked confusedly before exhaling and gently patting the girl on her back.
"You know, for a princess of the elven community; you sure sob a lot."
Elara turned a bright shade of red and quickly disengaged from the hug before whacking the dwarf in the face.
Huffing in indignation, she spun around and began stomping toward the portal.
Randin rubbed his face with a stunned expression, while Grey just chuckled softly as the elf’s form vanished into the shimmering gateway.
Not wasting any time, the mage walked into the portal too.
After a few seconds, the rift vanished into thin air, leaving Randin alone, still rubbing his smarting cheek.
"Damn... women and attitudes."

An ashen portal appeared in a forest filled with tall, lush green trees that towered high above the ground.
And from the portal, two figures stepped out.
Grey and Elara!
’Well, that took up half of my total mana pool. Which means I will have more than enough to return back.’
Elara was beside him, excited, eager as she took in a deep breath of the air which filled her lungs with exhilarated anxiousness.
"Come on, I can’t wait anymore," she shouted, then grabbed the mage’s hand before rushing forward at full speed.
They ran for five minutes deep into the forest that surrounded them.
With each step Elara took, her heart kept pounding with excitement.
Soon enough, the forest gave way to a clear area, but trees were still seen surrounding them.
This clearing wasn’t particularly huge, but it was still noticeable.
While the trees were scattered around, houses made from the trees stood on different trunks, almost like treetop houses of some sort.
The number of houses Grey was seeing was enough to make up an entire town back home.
And then at the edge of the treetop settlement, a more beautiful tree stood there with a huge house on it that could fit about two hundred elves.
The trees, instead of having leaves, bore houses, making the entire place feel spacious and strangely alive.
And weirdly enough for Grey, the trees were somehow massive—far bigger than anything he had ever seen—which comfortably housed the structures on them.
... At least that was what the mage thought.
Because the next moment, the duo froze dead in their tracks at what they were seeing before them.
Dead bodies littered the area.
Hanging from the houses on the trees were more corpses.
Flames licked the trees and ground, burning with intense force.
Huge craters littered the area as if a giant had stepped on the soil.
Some trees were toppled to the ground. Blood streamed across the earth like a river of some sort.
It flowed to the duo’s feet, leaving them with shocked expressions on their faces.
In the center of the craters, an old elf lay there with his head caved in from a massive impact.
Young elves that looked identical to Elara hung from the huge, beautiful house on the tree.
A woman knelt beside the bodies, bleeding from her chest and abdomen... clearly dead.
Vines spread through the place like snakes, coiling around the dead woman.
The place was in ruins as Elara stood there with wide eyes, her heart pounding louder and louder with every body she took in.
Even Grey was stupefied.
Then a painful shriek that shook his entire soul burst out from the elf’s lungs.
"AAAAAAAAAAARGH! MUM! Old man Jankis!" Elara screamed with intensity as she dashed forward, tears falling from her eyes.
Grey remained frozen on the spot as he took in the sheer magnitude of destruction that had occurred.
Scanning the place, he realized that it wasn’t just dead elves littering the area.
There were bodies of... beasts. Humans that...
Grey’s eyes widened in horror.
"Yun warriors? Mages? Th-The Otherworlders?!"
