Chapter 896

Stepping out of the forest was a man.

He wore a long blue robe that reached his legs while the sleeves covered his hands.

On the robe, there were two emblems on it. One of the emblems had a crescent moon symbol with an arrow pointing upwards, embedded within a circular border.

The crescent moon was silver in color, while the arrow is a bright, fiery red.

The circular border was adorned with tiny, intricate stars and has the academy’s motto, "Scientia et Magia" (meaning "Knowledge and Magic" in Latin), inscribed in a elegant, curved line above the crescent moon.

Then the second emblem was a silver coloured badge that was firmly planted on the right side of the robe. Which was shining brightly.

The man stood around 5"9 tall with beautiful brown hair on his head with brown eyes and he also had a stupefied expression on his face as he gazed at the mage on the large tree.

"Am I seeing things?" Amir muttered as he quickly rubbed his eyes a few times.

Peeking out from his hands, he could see Grey still standing there with his mouth slightly open in shock.

"Ca-Ca-Captain Amir?!" Grey repeated as if as he was unsure by who was standing a few metres away. "Is-Is it really you?"

Hearing the voice and the words, Amir closed his mouth. His eyes twinkling as he took one step at a time forward.

His steps slow and deliberate while making his way towards where the Supreme Magus was.

Glancing at Elara who was still mourning, Grey quickly set Jesse down and jumped down from the tree.

He landed smoothly and began sauntering over. The wind rustling between the duo as they finally stood a metre away from eachother while scanning themselves from head to toe.

"It really is you." Grey uttered in shock as a wide smile caressed his face. "And you haven’t changed a bit. Haha."

Amir was stunned out of words. He hadn’t expected to ever see Grey again and most especially not in this kind of setting.

After the one month break Lunaria academy had received, that was the last time the vice principal of the academy saw the mage.

Months passed and now, he was seeing the young mage again in an unprecedented location?

Scanning the destruction and devastation that was left behind, Amir pointed.

"Di-did you do this?"

Grey blinked for a second before shaking his head vehemently.

"Hell no. We just arrived not too long ago to this scene. But I know who did this,"

Amir clenched his hands.

"The Otherworlders?"

Grey blinked again as if processing the man’s words.

"You know about them?"

Amir clenched his jaws tightly while glaring at the ground with his hands squeezed tightly in pure exhilarated anger.

"Of course. Why won’t I? After all, they attacked Arondale not too long ago and wiped a kingdom off the face of the world."

Grey froze in horror at the man’s words.

"Wh-What?!"

.....

Hours passed with Elara still mourning while Grey and Amir helped grabbing the dead bodies and respectfully setting them aside.

Using his wind magic, the Supreme Magus was able to carry more bodies and set them all aside.... The elves bodies alone.

He didn’t know how the last rights for the elven community was observed. Doing this, he wouldn’t do something bad.

He would just wait for Elara to finish mourning so she could finally put her people to rest.

Amir calmly and meticulously set Licht, Charla, Langris, the rest of Licht’s kids and old man Jankis bodies aside... away from the rest of the elves.

He kept them carefully on the tall, wide tree. Making sure to space them out while Elara knelt in front of the bodies crying her eyes out with Jesse comforting her.

It took about an two hours to accomplish because the Supreme Magus was raiding the dead bodies of the Otherworlders’ men to maybe find anything that could betray where they came from.

But he found nothing aside from a small weird looking coin on the body of the supposed commander who Licht had murdered.

After he was done raiding them, he gathered their bodies in one pile. He didn’t care as he used his wind magic lifting and tossing them around disrespectfully until they were now in one pile.

Lifting his hand to the sky, a gigantic fireball hovered above his palm. His eyes gleamed darkly before hurling his hand downward causing the fireball to smash into the bodies instantly consuming them all in a roar of orange flames.

The smell of burnt flesh immediately wafted into the air as the bodies burned brightly while Grey stood unfazed staring at the bodies with a grim expression on his face.

Amir stood beside him staring at the dead bodies without much of an expression on his callous face.

He looked up at the huge tree that initially had the mansion for the elf leader and his family where Elara knelt with Jesse beside her trying to consol the young elf.

Shaking his head, Amir sighed deeply.

"This is all crazy. They got dragged into something they knew not about."

Turning to stare at the Supreme Magus who was still looking at the burning bodies,

"Where have you been all these days? A year and seven months? It’s going to two years when nobody set their eyes on you. What happened with you? And,"

The man paused as he stared into the eyes of the mage.

"You left here as a three star mage and came back as a six star mage? How did you jump up so many ranks within a year and few months? It takes people years to accomplish that."

Grey didn’t give a reply whatsoever as he kept staring at the burning bodies with a conflicted expression on his face. His mind and heart burning along with the bodies.

Only one word ringing in his mind:

"Revenge!"

Finally, he looked up before turning to stare at the Captain beside him.

"We need to talk. I will say everything I know and you will answer all my questions. Captain."
