Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity-Chapter 186: Captain.
"Ahhh, I see" with a look of understanding on his face, Leon nodded. Both him, and the High Arbiter could be seen seated On a small stumb of grass looking down at the flowing field of grass.
"Yeahhhh" the High Arbiter nodded in response. He could understand how overwhelming the information he had just given Leon was.....
He had just explained in more depth, the situation of the sorcerers in the three territories and it was more bleak than Leon could have ever thought.
Apparently, it was much more likely for a warlock to become a sorcerer, than it was for a mage. This was simply an evolutionary trait. Warlocks had bodies multiple times stronger than mages so it was easier for them to store powerful souls in themselves.
Coupled with their absorption of life energy from living creatures, the switch to the absorption of soul energy was much easier as they had close traits.

This wasn’t some great revelation, no contrary to that, the fact that warlocks had an easier time transitioning to sorcerer’s was one of the main PR moves that the mages used to smear their names and tag them as birds of the same feather.
"This is why it is paramount for us to keep this side of us secret, we aren’t like mages who could easily become Wizards and whatever" the High Arbiter spoke.
There were very few sorcerer’s in the sacred land, and even those guys didn’t Become sorcerer’s on their own free will. It was a matter of circumstance. As the bloodline of warlocks had limits per individual, the hope to advance would often be muddied by desperateness.
Imagine being a prodigy your whole life then suddenly you can’t advance anymore. This was enough to drive alot of people mad. For most Warlocks, those who were desperate enough, they would venture onto this path for power and become monsters...because even in Warlock society, the title ’Sorcerer’ was still frown on.
No one, even Leon didn’t like the thought of his soul being manipulated in any way shape or form.
Meanwhile on the mage side, one could diverge and become a wizard without any form of prejudice from their society.
"Do you know how many sorcerers exist in the sacred land?" After digesting all the information from the High Arbiter Leon let out a breath of hot air before posing a question.
If what he was saying was true, then it would be very dangerous for sorcerers without a background if they were caught manipulating soul energy.
This would drastically reduce the amount of people willing to become warlocks. Of course there were still other factors...so Leon wanted the exact statistics.
"The ones that matter? I can count them in one hand" the High Arbiter let out a breath of cold air and said.
Throughout the whole expanse that was the sacred land, there were about 5 sorcerers that reached level 4. This was a small number considering the fact that this was a whole race they were talking about here.
"Okay....." Leon nodded, it wasn’t like this didn’t shock him. But at least they weren’t totally extinct. If there was to be any polgrim he wouldn’t be the first target of the mages or whomever sort to kill them off.
"We need to stick together kid, with my experience I’m sure I can show you a thing or two" nodding his head the High Arbiter proposed a sort of alliance.
There were no other sorcerers in the bloodserpent clan except for himself and Leon. This would make them exceptionally close.
"Yes this is true," Leon stood up the bowed slightly to the High Arbiter "I look forward to learning from you teacher"
Leon understood what the High Arbiter was gunning at, and he also understood that if he wanted to truly have the freedom to do what he wanted in BloodRock city, He would need a powerful and influencial master.
Who better than the High Arbiter?
,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
"Oh? You’re back?" Looking through the side of his eyes, the old man whom sat next to the High Arbiter on the High table asked.
"Yes" taking his seat, the High Arbiter simply nodded and turned to the crowd.
(So you succeeded? Good for you)
In his mind though, the old man could only shake his head. In his view, Leon was better off abandoning the path of the sorcerer and focusing fully on his warlock training. But would he say that?
No. After all, Greyback was his close friend.
"Still.....an Alduwin? Whatever" But before he shut up, he let out a small murmur.
"Thank you all for coming here today" in front of the people around, the High Arbiter raised his cup in a toast.
"This event was proposed specifically by me to Foster a relatable and more understandable environment for our clansmen. As you know, this are changing fast and our enemies seek to destroy us more so than ever"
"Your fellow clansman from beyond the sacred land aren’t here to take your Jobs, they are here because they have no choice, they have seen prosecution the likes none of you have known" with an awe inspiring voice, the High Arbiter spoke outloud to his men.
" Learn from them, because what they faced out there.....you too will face very soon"
An air of impending clash, and an aura of blood went through their blood. The High Arbiter was right, they weren’t in a time of peace, war was coming. These internal squabbles weren’t necessary.
"To help Us better withstand the enemy, I would be appointing a new captain to the 7 original captains of the enforcement unit..."
These words they immediately sent a boiling excitement through the hearts of all those around. Especially the sentinels. For the longest time, it had seemed to them that no one would receive a promotion due to the pressures the clan was facing.
Even the regular challenges that were allowed to keep the captains strong had been canceled because of how fragile things had become. The thought of ascending the ranks made them all happy.
However,
"Leon Alduwin, disciple of mine, please step forward"
The High Arbiter next words were like a bucket of cold water dashed on the heads of all those present.
"Wait a minute.....did he just call the outer clan trash his disciple?"
"Hey, sit down kid, we all heard him"
"That’s not fair though"
Murmurs began to spread in the gathering mainly from the main clan members. They had waited so long for this opportunity and now a nobody from the boonies was going to take it?
"Hehe, the High Arbiter is truly just"
"His contributions to the clan have been so much, why wouldn’t he be a captain?"
They were all angry, not at Leon, but the High Arbiter himself!!!
"Hm!!!"
In response a shockwave of an irresistible energy began to slowly build up on the high table. They didn’t notice it at first until just one person saw it.
"Fucking retards!!! Do you think I’m asking for your opinion?? Can any of you beat him in a fight? You better get in line before I skin you alive " his fist hit the table infront of him, following which a disgusting aura permeated the entire field causing everyone to freeze in fear.
The High Arbiter alone was already a middle level 4 existence. Even in the clan he was a top existence, who did they think they were to question him? He had fulfilled all righteousness by allowing Leon to fight Sith, one of the strongest sentinels.
What? were they expecting him to promote someone clearly weaker? Laughable!!
"Hmmmm"
The High Arbiters words sent a chill down the spine of all of them. Apart from his reputation of being just, the High Arbiter was also known for being ruthless.
If he decided to punish the entire enforcement unit no one would stop him or find it unreasonable.
"Keep your mouth shut next time" with their heads bowed in the direction of the high Arbiter. The Arbiters warned their subordinates.
Malphas Greyback was more terrifying than these kids would ever know, it was best for them to shut their mouths when he spoke.
As for the position of captain, there was nothing they could do about it.
It was not their decision to make, not to talk about the fact that the kid was now his deciple.
Leon was now a captain of the enforcement unit of the bloodserpent clan whether they liked it or not.
Deeper in the clan.
Several men and women looked to the side of grassland expanse not too far away.
"Aii, that old man lost control again" one with am afro said while looking far into the distance.
"So embarrassing" another with snakes crawling all over her body commented and slowly shook her head.
The High Arbiter was their direct boss, even though it seemed like they were under the Arbiters, they only get orders from the High Arbiter himself. So seeing him cause such a scene in the clan was kind of embarrassing.
These guys were captains of the enforcement unit.

The smallest gifts can also go a long way from time to time. We will soon get to that stage where the author has to fend for himself.
