It was winter now, and he didn’t have a lot of clothes. If he sold any more, he would have none left to wear.

"I know." Qi Cheng didn’t want her to worry. He gently lowered his head and kissed her.

Ji Yunhuan looked at him and said, "Should I sell my things? I don’t really need them anyway."

"No." He could sell anything of his, but he didn’t want her to be as destitute as he was. Even if he had nothing, he wanted to treat her like a queen, a princess, especially since they had a child.

Ji Yunhuan looked at him, "Then maybe we should sell the car, and this house too. We could move to a smaller one..."

Before she could finish, she saw Qi Cheng staring at her intently. Ji Yunhuan realized she had said something wrong.

This house was his labor of love, their dream. He wouldn’t want to sell it.

She reached out and tidied up his buttons, "Alright, I was wrong. I won’t say it again. From now on, I won’t bring up money issues. You make all the decisions, okay?"

His expression softened a bit upon hearing her words.

Ji Yunhuan helplessly looked at the man, "Qi Cheng, don’t you think you’re being too domineering?"

"I like it." He gently embraced her. Since she had given birth and no longer had a big belly, she seemed to have lost a lot of weight instantly.

Ji Yunhuan, still in her pajamas, looked at him and said, "Let me change my clothes first."

She had many clothes in her suitcase, all bought by him later. None of them were cheap.

When it came to her, he was always so generous.

But for himself...

He hadn’t even bought a proper winter coat, only buying two when she forced him to while shopping together.

After changing her clothes, Ji Yunhuan found that Qi Cheng had already picked up the baby. They went downstairs, and the servant had already prepared breakfast for them.

Everyday life seemed so ordinary without a hint of surprise.

Qi Cheng looked at Ji Yunhuan and said, "The draft fee for the design came in today."

"Really?" Ji Yunhuan knew the project he did was worth a lot.

Qi Cheng nodded, then glanced at Ji Yunhuan and said, "But they only paid a third of it."

"Why?" Upon hearing this, Ji Yunhuan was a bit angry. "How could they be so unreasonable? Not only did they not pay the full amount, but they also delayed it for so long."

"They said my design didn’t meet their requirements, so they found someone else. They were only willing to pay me because I worked on it for so long." Qi Cheng seemed very indifferent, not angry at all.

Ji Yunhuan felt a headache coming on after hearing this, "Are they blind? Do they even know who you are?"

Qi Cheng could complete projects as complex as Jingyang Tower’s design on his own, yet these blind fools couldn’t see his worth.

Qi Cheng laughed, "If they knew who I was, do you think they’d still use me?"

If they found out Qi Cheng was designing online, his grandfather would likely cause trouble again.

Though less money, they still received some payment.

It was still better than him working at the tavern every day.

Because Qi Cheng was so calm, Ji Yunhuan didn’t know what to say.

But she really felt sorry for Qi Cheng.

To divert Ji Yunhuan’s attention, Qi Cheng said, "Bai Liyan mentioned he would come over."

Ji Yunhuan was a little surprised, "Really?"

They had been in this place for several months, feeling completely disconnected from people in City A. Even when Ji Yunhuan gave birth, they hadn’t informed anyone.

Qi Cheng explained, "He heard you had given birth and wanted to visit. He’s probably on his way now."

Sure enough, Bai Liyan arrived around two in the afternoon. Dressed warmly for the cold, he came inside.

With the heating on, he took off his coat at the door, keeping his eyes on Ji Yunhuan. It had been months since they last met. She seemed unchanged, except now, the baby had been born.

Wearing a simple suit, he walked over and said, "Let me see this little one."

When Ji Yunhuan was pregnant, he had helped quite a bit.

Ji Yunhuan handed the baby to him. Born just over ten days ago, the little one was very cute. Unlike Yangyang, who loved to smile shortly after birth, this baby was adorable in his own way.

Holding the baby, Bai Liyan looked at Ji Yunhuan, "You had the baby, and you didn’t even call me. If I hadn’t calculated the time and called Qi Cheng, I’d still be kept in the dark."

"It was too far, and it’s winter. I didn’t want to trouble you." Ji Yunhuan genuinely didn’t want to bother others.

Bai Liyan listened to her and said, "Do you think I would mind the distance?"

Ji Yunhuan smiled helplessly, "I know you’re busy."

"Where is Qi Cheng?" Bai Liyan asked.

"What do you need me for?" Qi Cheng came out of the kitchen, fully equipped with half his face covered by a mask. That disguise made him almost unrecognizable.

Bai Liyan looked at his appearance and couldn’t help but laugh, "When did you start cooking?"

"I learned." Since coming here, cooking wasn’t a new endeavor for Qi Cheng.

"Can your cooking be eaten?" Bai Liyan was full of doubt.

Qi Cheng glared at him, took off his cooking gear. The dishes were already prepared, knowing Bai Liyan was coming, he had specially made a meal for him.

He didn’t really want to treat his rival so well, but it was better than letting Ji Yunhuan cook herself!

Throwing the apron aside, he said to Bai Liyan, "Try it and see."

Ji Yunhuan smiled, "Qi Cheng’s cooking is really good."

Flushed with pride from Ji Yunhuan’s praise, Qi Cheng glanced at the baby Bai Liyan was holding, "Give me my son."

"This is my son too." Bai Liyan said.

Hearing this, Qi Cheng’s face darkened, like the bottom of a pot.

Until now, Ji Yunhuan hadn’t explained to him about her and Bai Liyan.

To avoid angering Qi Cheng, Bai Liyan added, "Godson. Before the baby was born, you agreed to this. What are you thinking?"

"Exactly." Ji Yunhuan agreed, telling Qi Cheng, "Stop being jealous."

Qi Cheng sat down, no longer anxious to take the baby.

Holding the compliant little one, Bai Liyan asked, "What’s the baby’s name?"

"Ruirui. Qi Sirui." Ji Yunhuan answered.

Bai Liyan looked at Ruirui. Ruirui’s dark eyes stayed fixed on him, seemingly very interested in this stranger.

Though he knew the baby was too young to recognize people, Bai Liyan had never cared for such a young child before and was very interested. He lifted his head to glance at Qi Cheng, "Ruirui will truly be my godson, no take-backs."

"As you wish." Honestly, if not for Bai Liyan, this baby might not even be here.

Qi Cheng felt he couldn’t refuse, considering their past.

Ruirui looked a lot like Qi Cheng, so he knew the baby was definitely his. There really was no need to be jealous.
