Chapter 197: With you

He chewed his lower lip as took his time bathing Sage in the bubble-filled pool. After he finished, the water was immediately drained and replaced by crystal-clear sparkling water, which he used to rinse their bodies. He was saddened to see her unconscious. Even being submerged in water for such a long time did not wake her up because she was so knocked out.

Her entire appearance became ethereal and seductively alluring due to the droplets on her body. He carried her in his arms, out of the pool and back to the room where he dried her voluptuous body off with a towel.

He put her in a cozy knee-length peach dress, laid her gently on the bed, and then sat next to her while gazing at her serene sleeping face.

She was so stunningly beautiful that he almost thought she was a dream. Although he was still reeling from his earlier actions, the desire to touch her more than he had already felt was growing inside of him. His actions had been completely mindless; everything else, including his thoughts, had vanished. The entire experience was simply amazing...

He was afraid that when she awoke, she would see him as a mindless monster or worse. The entire experience began to flash through his mind, and he remembered her pleading with him to slow down and wait. He wouldn’t even let her breathe. Gods! He was a goner. He didn’t want to see fear in her gleaming emerald eyes.

He closed his eyes, inhaled deeply, and slowly placed his fingers on her cheek, eliciting a charming smile on his lips.

"You drive me insane, arrogant parrot," he said as he drew her into a warm embrace. "I know you still prefer him." He referred to his normal state, then sighed deeply as his eyes fluttered open, flickering with jealousy.

...

Sage’s eyes fluttered open in their fiery red form before returning to their normal emerald form. She swallowed hard and let out a long, low groan. When she tried to turn to the other side of the bed, she realized she was being held tightly by her waist.

"I called a doctor." She heard Cyrus whisper with worry.

She was actually sleeping on his large arm, which was wrapped around her small waist. Hearing him say the word "doctor"? Sage turned around to see him staring at her, his blue slit eyes filled with concern.

He was lying next to her all dressed up as if he had just arrived after going somewhere

"What? Why?" She inquired, surprised.

"I.." As he trailed off, he avoided her gaze.

Sage gave him a sidelong glance. "Cy.."

A knock on the door cut her off, and Cyrus immediately let go of her waist and jumped out of bed, completely avoiding her eyes.

"Cyrus!" She called out, jumped off the bed, and landed on his back, wrapping her arms around his neck and legs around his waist. "Why do I need a doctor?" She inquired cheerfully as she felt Cyrus’ body become still.

"You... It’s midnight... you..." he paused, concerned, and she could feel his shoulders drop. "You... you seem fine..." He exhaled a sigh of relief.

Sage released his neck, landed her feet on the ground, and rushed to stand in front of him, a bright smile on her face. A smile that reached her eyes and made them sparkle like stars.

That beautiful smile alone put him at ease, and he drew her into a warm embrace. He was relieved because he had not anticipated her reaction.

"I am just fine, Cyrus." She giggled as if everything was a comedy or something, but it brought him nothing but relief. "You surprised me."

"I have never felt so relieved in my life, my love." Cyrus breathed heavily as he tightened his grip on her.

Sage smiled, melting in his loving embrace. She could read his mind and sense his intense concern and fear for her. Who would have thought he’d react this way and even call a doctor?

She laughed as Cyrus stroked her hair. "I am fine."

"I know, let’s just keep it like this for a while." Cyrus whispered, sounding a little calmer than before.

"Yes." Sage closed her eyes and softly whispered.

She could tell he was bothered by their earlier intense sex. She hadn’t anticipated him calling a doctor, and the fact that he seemed so concerned considering how powerful he was when they were making love was unexpected. He repeatedly sent her to heaven and hell, and she had no chance of recovering from that.

"Cyrus," she said quietly.

"Hmm?"

"I would like to see Katherine."

"We will go together. It is time to resurrect her memories. I can not afford to kill her out of rage if she "accidentally" hurts you."

Sage’s eyes widened slightly as she heard those words, and she sighed deeply before snuggling closer to Cyrus. "Do you think she visited the land of the sea of blood before deciding to take the mages there?"

"There is a hundred percent chance she was taken there by a statkus mage even more powerful than the elder statkus mages."

Sage let out a gasp. "Do you mean..."

"That there is another statkus mage who is more powerful than them? Yes."

"This is all terrifying." Sage shrugged.

"But you are not afraid." Cyrus chuckled.

"You are with me remember?" Sage inquired, giggling.

"Yes... Yes I am."
