Chapter 212: I am sorry

Cyrus raised his gaze to see River approaching him with a deep frown.

"What?"

"I heard you killed half of Antican’s fire dragons and caused the banishment of two shadow dragons! Are you crazy?!" River yelled.

"Who are you to interrogate me?" Cyrus scoffed, then placed the nine-tailed fox on the stairwell and stood up.

"You’re being pathetic right now." River was fuming.

Cyrus’ lips twitched. "By the way, You are not supposed to be here."

"Yes! But I had no choice..."

"Oh, you are worried," Cyrus laughed, deepening River’s frown.

"They will take you to the portal prison, Cyrus," River warned.

"I am not afraid," Cyrus hissed, chewing his lower lip.

"You are not paying attention!" River screamed. "Bring Cyrus back or you will be taken to the portal prison, and Antica will be left without a king and burnt to nothingness!" He wanted to put sense into the ice dragon’s brain.

Cyrus fixed his gaze on him. "For your own good, stay away." He hissed and moved his gaze away.

"Argh! I have had enough!" River dashed towards Cyrus, frustrated and angry, and grabbed his arm.

Cyrus groaned and jerked away before turning and striking River in the stomach.

"Do we have to do this all the time?" Cyrus clenched his teeth as he saw River cough up blood.

"I am not sure whether it’s fortunate or unfortunate." River grunted as he delivered blow to Cyrus’ stomach.

"It is fortunate." Cyrus grinned deviously while groaning in pain.

They immediately got into a fist fight with each other, leaving bruises on their faces.

Ashton entered the throne room with a chuckle on his face and stood there watching them punch each other. His eyes were wide with delight, as if he were watching an action play.

.

Finally, nightfall had arrived.

While River was seated at the stairwell, Cyrus was seated on his throne with his nine-tailed fox on his laps and his panthers seated on the sides of his throne.

They appeared unharmed, as if they had never engaged in a fistfight earlier.

River whispered to Cyrus, "It will be great if you make the right choice Draco.

"Be quiet." River could only roll his eyes in response to Cyrus’ neutral hiss.

Ashton entered the throne room in a stately manner, but at least six enormous, bulky portal elves were standing behind him. They were incredibly abnormally large, but that would be pushing it to say they were giants.

They all bowed their heads in respect for Cyrus as the largest of them stood behind Ashton.

Cyrus exhaled deeply. "Start talking." He grumbled angrily.

Ashton shook his head as they all raised their heads. "So conceited." then turned around and went to the bottom stairwell to sit.

"Your majesty, there have been dire reports about your ignorant acts of taking too much life. The strongest prison for holding mindless beings like you is the portal prison Nexus, where we will have to take action to transport you. We are well aware that you are not in your right mind because you are trapped in your demonic state, and as a natural instinct, your desire for destruction is strong. However, we cannot passively watch as you upend the global order." The elf explained in the calmest manner possible. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

The child seated on the throne alone emanated an intensely dark aura with an intense glare.

"Do you know anything else?" Cyrus’s brow furrowed as he inquired.

"The being with three souls, the being that is half a god." The elf lowered his head and whispered.

River’s eyes widened as he heard that statement.

Ashton’s chuckled as he noticed this.

"Alright." Cyrus sighed and stood up, placing the nine-tailed fox on the throne before returning his gaze to the elves. "I can’t leave my kingdom without a ruler, which leaves me with only two options."

Everyone in the throne room looked at Cyrus, perplexed.

"And are they?" The elf inquired.

"I either eliminate all portal elves or find a way to seal this state of mine." Cyrus smirked wickedly and whispered.

Cyrus sighed deeply, staring at the grey, angry clouds, before turning to face River, who was seated beside him, lost in thought.

"You’ve always been a jerk." Cyrus was the first to break the silence, as unknown to him, he, River, and Ashton had gone down memory lane together.

"You have always been the worst." River smiled at Cyrus, who nodded slowly.

"Would you like me to apologize?" Cyrus laughed heartily.

"Would you like me to apologize?" River inquired, his brow furrowed.

"Yes." Cyrus tsked and averted his gaze.

"You have fallen in love with fire mage in this state as well." River let out a sigh.

"It’s not much of a surprise," Cyrus laughed, returning his gaze to River.

"It is to me." River stated solemnly.

"Why?" Cyrus inquired, slightly surprised.

"I don’t know." River chuckled and turned away, then stood up on the roof, closing his eyes as the wind swirled around him. "You were a cute child, looking all girly." He laughed and opened his eyes.

Cyrus scoffed, stood up, and pushed River off the roof.

River frowned as he landed on his feet on the ground, and when he looked up, there was no sign of Cyrus.

"I am sorry River," Cyrus said quietly behind him.

River froze and clenched his fists. Those words... They sounded so flat yet genuine.

"I.." He turned, but Cyrus was gone, and a small smile curved his lips. "You are not a virus."
