Married to the loveless CEO-Chapter 59: Jealous
"What do you want from me?" Olivia demanded.
"Good question Olivia. I like you, so straight to the point," he replied.
"Okay. Well, I have a proposal for you," he continued.
"Which is?" she asked.
"Help me take my brother down, it’s a win win for the both of us," he answered.
"Take your brother down? How do you plan on doing that?" she asked careful.
He chuckled, "I will tell you once you agree to it, though...the plan is still in the stratagem process,"
"How is it going to be a win win for us then?" she asked further.
His expression became serious all of a sudden, he walked closer to her and she didn’t move away from him this time as if she was rooted to the ground.
"You got pregnant for Leonard for what?" he questioned.
"Isn’t it for money for your dying company?" he continued. Enough with these people reminding her of her family’s dying company.
"I want Yul enterprises and all of the Yuls’ wealth that Leonard is enjoying," he said.
"And I want nothing to do with this scheme of yours." she finally told him her thought of the proposal.
She started to walk away, she could hear him laugh.
"Do think about it, Ms. Shipman," she heard him say.
He talked to the wrong Shipman, maybe if it was her brother he might have agreed. If Axel was the one, he would try to use her for their plan then and she would still be involved.
She wouldn’t do anything to hurt Leo again, she wouldn’t do anything to hurt anyone else. As soon as she gets married and out of the Shipmans house, she will do everything to get liberty. She’s tired of being a pushover.
"Funny how you two came back at the same timing," Colleen acknowledged when Olivia got to the dining room. Gabriel has been trailing behind her, she didn’t even notice.
"You know, Olivia went before you," Colleen tried to instigate the issue more than it should be.
"I just met Ms. Olivia at the corridors," Gabriel defended them.
Olivia’s eyes went to Leo’s, the raging gaze in them turned calm immediately their eyes met.
’What was that just now?’ Olivia thought. Was he angry again just now? How can his expressions change in split seconds?
"You spent so much time in the restroom, Olivia," Colleen continued.
"Stop making a mountain out of a molehill, Ms. Yul," Axel forced a smile within clenched teeth.
"Yes, Colleen. Let’s continue to enjoy these good meals," Gabriel agreed with Axel.
Olivia just sat down ignoring all of them. It was like a table of hungry and raging vampires with the only sensible people being her, her mother and Mr. and Mrs Yul.
"Show your fiancée round the mansion, Leo," Mr. Yul suggested to Leonard when they were done with their dinner.
Leo glanced at her and she gazed at him too.
"It’s already late, we should all go home. I’ll show her around some other day," Leo refuses.
"C’mon Leonard. They wouldn’t be leaving anytime soon, your mother and I wants to have a drink with the Shipmans.
"Your brother and Colleen has already left, use this opportunity to bond with your fiancée, you’ll be getting married soon... it’s high time you get over your anger," his father elaborated.
Leo stood up, he glanced at Olivia saying ’shall we?’ with his eyes. She understood immediately and stood up, they both walked out with Leo leading the way.
They just walked round the mansion, Leo didn’t bother explaining or describing any part of the mansion to her. He didn’t even respond to her when she asks a question about anything that caught her eyes.
"What were you doing with my brother?" he finally said something since they’ve been walking, not what she expected but at least it’s something. She’d wanted to give up and ended the tour.
"Why do you want to know?" she answered his question with a question.
He turned towards her, his hands in his pockets. His gaze on her was intent and demanding.
"I asked a question, don’t make me repeat myself," he warned.
"I already answered your question," she responded.
"That’s not the answer I want to hear," he said.
"I don’t know what you want to hear," she replied and he moved closer to her fuming now.
"What is wrong with you, Olivia?! Are you trying to test my patience?" he fumed.
"No, I don’t just see what the big deal is. I don’t know why you’re asking me this when your brother already answered it at the dining table. Are you jealous perhaps?" she asked and she saw again how his expression became calm all of a sudden.
"There’s nothing to be jealous about. I don’t just trust you." he responded.
"I don’t need you to trust me," she said and he started to walk away. She walked after him, thinking about if she should inform him of his brother’s plans against him.
Why does she care? She doesn’t want to get involved, but if something happens to him...she might blame herself for not letting him know on time to prevent it.
"Your brother and I did talk about something earlier," she started and he halted. He turned towards her again.
"What?" he inquired.
"He wants me to help him get rid of you. I don’t know how but he wants your family’s wealth all to himself," she told.
Silence reigned between them. Then Leo laughed breaking the silence.
"My brother is greedy but he won’t go to that length," he responded.
"You don’t believe me?" she replied.
"After those strings you pulled(Scoffs). Like I said, I don’t trust you," he said.
This might be one of her strings to deepen the enmity between him and his brother, to play a fast one on them again or for any of her personal gains.
He won’t let her get to him again, but...he will look into it and be a little wary of his brother. Greed could make anyone do crazy things.
’Don’t believe me then. I don’t care, it’s your funeral,’ Olivia thought.
***
It was another day at 3D advertisement firm. Davian had just finished a meeting with his employees as they discussed the firm’s financial statistics and some of their pending projects.
Silvia had already kept to her own end of the deal. With the funds, 3D was able to settle its debts.
It was as if Silvia was a lucky charm. 3D was gradually picking up from where it has stopped years ago. They were landing a lot of deals lately and very soon they will be expanding.
They are going to rent a bigger space and hire more employees, even take in interns.
The door of his office opened. Ray walked in;
"Bro we just landed another deal, I thought you would be jumping for joy. Things are going well, why do you look so glum?" he asked.
"I confessed to her," Davian said.
"Uh what?" Ray replied.
"I confessed my feelings to her," Davian continued.
"I’m lost, to who?" Ray asked in denial within himself because he already knew who the person must be. Davian glared at him for the same reason, who else does he have feelings for?
"To Silvia?!" Ray questioned and Davian nodded.
"What? Dude, no. You messed up, you shouldn’t have. What you should be doing is getting over your feelings for her not confessing!" Ray scolded.
"It just came out...I just said ’I love you’ without thinking. I had already said it so I had to continue the confession," Davian replied.
"Darn it dude! How did she react to it?" Ray asked.
"She doesn’t feel the same," Davian answered and Ray pinched the space between his brows.
"I knew it, now what’s going to happen?" he asked.
"Nothing, just... things has been a little tensed and awkward between us. She wants us to stick to our contract agreement but...do you think I should woo her?" Davian replied.
"Davian, look...listen to me. You’re in love, so you’re not thinking straight anymore when it comes to her.
"Now as a friend, I’ll advise you not to do that. You guys are from two different worlds, stick to the contract. It’s for your own good Davian," Ray explained. Davian sighed, turning his head upwards towards the ceilings.
"(Sighs too) What do you want Davian?" Ray inquired.
"I want to respect her decision while also showing her how much she means to me, there are several ways to do that and she really doesn’t have to love me back," Davian replied.
"Okay Davian. But my candid advice is for you to respect her decision while also trying to get over your feelings for her." Ray responded.
Outside the office, Becca clenched her hands on the tray of coffee she was carrying. She wanted to give it to them but then she overheard their conversation.
Davian is in love with Silvia Reyes.
How can that be? Doesn’t he detest her too for all the troubles she had brought to his life?
She doesn’t feel the same...
That’s good, she hopes it just stays that way. When Davian was about to go into the contract agreement, she had asked herself ’what could go wrong?’
Well there she has it.
But this can’t be happening. Davian is hers and hers alone.
