Married to the loveless CEO-Chapter 60: Honeymoon
It was weekend.
Silvia had just finished freshening up. She walked down the stairs, her steps on it slowed down till it finally halted when she saw Davian at the last step of the stairs.
"Going up?" she managed to ask.
"Yes, to call you for breakfast. Perfect timing," he responded.
She nodded and quietly followed him to the dining table. She sat on a chair and he sat close to her. She could feel herself already starting to salivate at just the sight and aroma of the meals.
"Go on, dig in...made it specially for you," Davian informed.
"What?" she responded and he just nodded at her, an expectant smile on his face.
"Davian, don’t do it again next time... there’s a reason we have the cook and house keeper," Silvia chastised.
"Thank me for the meal first princess," Davian laughed a small laugh.
"So you made it just for you to hear me say thank you?" she asked.
Davian sighed; "No."
She has changed so much ever since that day. Not changed just, went back to how she used to be with him- Overbearing! It made him feel as if he should have never made any confession at all.
"I know that’s what you hired the cook for but I just thought of doing it today. For the past few days now, it’s been work for the both of us-"
"Isn’t it how it should be?" she cuts him off. It was true that the pass few days had been work for the duo.
Silvia purposely occupied herself with work to get her mind a little bit away from Davian and his confession. While Davian had been busy because of the numerous business deals his firm had at hand and also because his firm was relocating.
"Thanks anyway but you didn’t have to," she added.
"I know but I did because I wanted to. Now dig in," he replied.
God knows how much he was trying to be patient with her, to understand her. They could still act normal with each other while sticking to their first agreement, why give him the attitude?
She had her first bite of one of the meals, it was so good.
She glanced at him; "Aren’t you going to eat?"
"Watching you is more appetizing and satisfying than any food," he responded.
She suppressed her smile and urge to blush.
"Well it’s your lost," she replied and he chuckled.
"I’ll eat mine soon. Is it really that good? Do you like it?" he asked and the only words her ears picked up was ’Do you like it?’.
Her mind drifted off to when he asked her that same question in bed, only that time...they were having a taste of each other.
She could feel her cheeks and ears heat up as she blushed. Why did she have to think about that?
’Yes. But...go a little faster now,’ her response echoed in her head.
She almost hit her ears in front of him. Why did she say those words at that time?
’You were already drowning in pleasure that’s why,’ her inner voice answered her.
’Shut up!’ she thought.
Why was she even feeling embarrassed now?
"Are you okay?" she heard him say.
"Uh yes, I’m okay. The food is great," she responded.
"Okay." he replied.
"You should let me teach you how to cook sometimes," he suggested.
"How did that go last time?" she recalled and he laughed.
"I already mentioned to you that 3D is relocating, right?" he inquired and she nodded.
"Well, we’ll be fully settled in at the new place by monday." he announced.
"Good to hear," she responded, she was truly glad that his firm was picking up.
"Will you like to see the new place?" Davian asked.
"Sure, when I’m less busy." she replied, he smiled and nodded. His hand reach for her stake, he began slicing it into bits with the cutleries, her eyes focused on him as he did it.
"Open wide...Ah," he said, directing the fork to her mouth when he was done slicing the stake, he wanted to feed her. She shook her head;
"No, let me eat by myself...I have hands-"
"C’mon, you’re too stubborn. Just open your mouth, huh?" he insisted and she did, reluctantly.
"Oh, look at you lovebirds."
Both of them turned towards the voice, Silvia’s eyes almost bulged out.
"Mom!" she exclaimed standing up.
"What are you doing here?" Silvia added.
"Welcome Mrs Reyes," Davian welcomed.
"Oh thank you Davian," Janet replied, she eyed Silvia.
"Is it a crime to visit you lovebirds?" she asked.
’Yes!’ Silvia thought.
"Absolutely not," Davian replied.
"Do you mind joining us for breakfast? Made it myself," Davian continued.
"Oh really, don’t mind if I do then," Janet said sitting down on one of the dining chairs. Davian started dishing out some of the meals for her.
"I’ll just have a light taste of everything," Janet started.
She soon began tasting the meals.
"Hmm these are good. You are very lucky my Silvia, I wish my husband would just surprise me with breakfast he made himself one of these days. Who am I kidding? He can’t even cook," Janet laughed.
After they finished eating, they proceeded to the sitting room to converse a little.
"So why did you really come here mom?" Silvia started.
"Oh Silvia, you sound as if you don’t want me here. Did I interrupt something?" Janet grinned at her and Silvia just shook her head.
"So when am I expecting a grand kid?" Janet added.
"Mom!" Silvia exclaims again and Davian laughed.
"Soon Mrs Reyes but we want to enjoy a little bit of alone time before welcoming a kid," Davian explained, his eyes met Silvia’s.
"I know that feeling," Janet nodded.
"But I’ll be waiting," she added.
"Well, I was wondering when you guys will be going for your honeymoon. Do you want me to plan it for you guys? That’s why I came," Janet stated her real reason for visiting.
"H-Honeymoon?" Silvia responded.
"Yes." Janet replied.
"The honeymoon will have to be put on hold, Mrs Reyes," Davian informed.
"What? Why?" Janet asked.
"We are very busy with work mom, there’s no time to have a honeymoon. The honeymoon will have to come a little later," Silvia seconded Davian’s stance.
"Oh, you workaholics!" Janet tsk.
"And even if we want to go for our honeymoon, you are not going to be the one to plan it for us, mom. Now time to go home," Silvia added, shooing her mom away.
"Alright then, it’s now a crime to miss my daughter. I’ll leave you two newlyweds then." Janet smiled standing up.
The duo stood up with her. Davian held Silvia’s hand, her eyes went to their intertwined then upwards to meet his gaze.
"Let’s see you out," Davian offered Janet.
"Okay," Janet agreed.
The duo escorted her outside the house where she entered into her car. They bid her goodbye as her driver started the car and began to drive away.
Silvia abruptly removed her hand from Davian’s grasp once the car was out of sight.
"I’ll be inside." she uttered and walked in.
Davian sighed before going in as well. Holding hands with her was a big deal now, rejection after confession really hurts.
***
Davian just parked his car at the parking lot of where his firm was relocated. His eyes didn’t miss a glance at that familiar motorbike, the owner must be close by. He didn’t fail to notice that someone has been tailing him for weeks now.
Could it be that the person also works for that Gabriel Yul, who ordered his kidnap?
His fists clenched, he wasn’t still happy about how that man escaped the law. Today is going to be judgment day for whoever is following him.
Randolph, who was hired by Mr. Reyes to watch Davian’s activities has been following Davian for weeks now, observing his every moves. He wanted to gather enough info before going to Alan.
The Davian guy didn’t look like he has anything up his sleeves against the Reyes. He led a simple life.
He noticed Davian usually drives his sports car to a place where he usually spends most of his time before he goes back to a penthouse which he stays in with his mother.
Until after the wedding where he moved to a new house with his wife, Ms. Reyes or rightly addressed now as Mrs Silvia Randell.
He observed that Davian usually comes out of the building with some other group of people. Randolph noticed the people also always visits the building.
He also noticed they were around Davian most times especially the men, even at the wedding and engagement party and he concluded they must all be acquainted.
He did a background check on the people acquainted with Davian, they were all simple people. He wonders what they were always coming to that building to do but lately they moved out.
He watches from afar as Davian entered the new complex, unsuspicious of anything as usual. He followed him into the building, he was going to find out what Davian usually meet up with those people for.
Were they running a business together? Or a club maybe?
He couldn’t find Davian at the reception when he walked in. How could he disappear out of sight like that? Did he really walk that fast? 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Randolph walked up to the receptionist.
"Hello, a man walked in just now... Davian Randell?" he said to the receptionist, who was a young woman.
"Yes, do you have an appointment with him? I’d have called his office up for you but like you said he just came in, you might just catch up with him.
"He will probably be taking the elevator to his firm that occupies the whole of the top floor, they just moved in," the woman replied, giving him the necessary directions in case he couldn’t catch up with Mr. Randell.
He nodded at her and rushed towards the elevator. Davian wasn’t anywhere around there, he pushed the elevator button. He will just observe the top floor then.
’Ding!’ the elevator opened and he walked in. But just as the elevator was about to close, hands and a foot stopped it from closing and Davian came into view.
