Chapter 110: Eira Is Pregnant!

The early morning sunlight streamed through the curtains as Eira sat at the dining table with a cup of tea in her hands.

The sound of the city buzzed outside, but she was entirely focusing on the newspaper in front of her.

She was reading the headlines, and there it was:

-Konrad Allegedly Linked to Financial Scandals; Former Clients Speak Out.-

The accompanying photo of Konrad, looking disheveled and visibly distressed, unsettled her.

She hadn’t thought much about him since she had cut him...

And now he was strippes of his power, but seeing him like this brought some discomfort she couldn’t explain.

"Still reading that?" Callian’s voice broke through her thoughts.

She looked up, startled, to see him walking into the room, already dressed for the day.

He glanced at the newspaper and frowned.

"You shouldn’t waste your time on him," he said, pouring himself a cup of coffee. "He’s irrelevant now."

"It’s not that," Eira replied, her voice quieter than usual. "It’s just... strange. Seeing him like this. He looks like he’s lost everything."

Callian’s eyes gentled as he sat across from her.

"That’s what happens when you hurt the wrong people, Eira. You can’t let this get to you. He doesn’t deserve your sympathy."

She nodded but said nothing, folding the newspaper and setting it aside.

As she reached for her tea, an unexpected rush of dizziness overwhelmed her body.

The cup slipped from her hand, clattering against the table.

"Eira?" Callian’s voice edged with worry.

"I’m fine," she mumbled, though her head felt light, her vision blurred.

Callian was at her side in an instant, his hands steadying her.

"You’re not fine. You’re pale, and you look like you’re going to faint. We’re going to the hospital."

"I just need to rest—"

"No." His tone left no room for argument. "I’m not taking any chances."

The ride to the hospital was quiet, Eira rested her head against the car window while Callian kept glancing at her.

At the hospital, Callian stayed close as the doctors ran tests.

Eira could see the tension in his jaw, his hands clenched tightly as he waited for answers.

Finally, a doctor entered the room, clipboard in hand.

"Mrs. Reed, we’ve reviewed your results," he began, his tone professional but kind.

Callian straightened, his hand instinctively reaching for Eira’s. "Is she okay?"

The doctor nodded. "She’s stable, but her body is under significant strain. The surgery you’ve been planning is not only crucial—it’s urgent."

Callian let out a breath he hadn’t realised he was holding. "Then let’s schedule it as soon as possible."

Eira looked at him, "You’ve already decided?"

"Of course I have," Callian said firmly. "You’re going to get better, Eira. I won’t let you put this off any longer."

She squeezed his hand.

The warmth of his body wrapped around her like a heavy blanket, pressing down with an intensity that both soothed her and left her breathless.

The doctor cleared his throat. "There’s one more thing we need to discuss."

Callian’s attention snapped back to him. "What is it?"

The doctor hesitated, glancing between them. "Mrs. Reed, you’re pregnant."

The words hung in the air like a thunderclap. ƒгeewebnovёl_com

Eira stared at him, uncomprehending. "I’m... what?"

"Pregnant," the doctor repeated gently. "About six weeks along, from what we can tell."

Callian’s face shifted from confusion to shock, his grip on Eira’s hand tightening. "Is this—are you sure?"

"Yes," the doctor confirmed. "And while this is wonderful news, it complicates things. The surgery you need can still be performed, but we’ll need to take extra precautions to ensure the safety of both you and the baby."

Eira’s thoughts sprinted in every direction, her heart felt like a stormy sea.

Pregnant.

A child.

In the midst of everything else, this was the last thing she had expected—or even imagined she could handle.

Callian’s voice broke through her thoughts, steadier now. "What are the risks?"

"The surgery itself poses some risk to the pregnancy," the doctor admitted. "But delaying the surgery isn’t an option. We’ll do everything we can to minimize complications."

Callian nodded, his face remained like a closed book. "Thank you, doctor."

As the doctor left the room, silence settled between them.

Eira finally spoke in a hushed tone. "A baby, Callian. I... I don’t know if I can do this."

He turned to her, his hands cupped her face gently. "Eira, look at me."

She caught his eyes, tears welling up on her own.

"We’ll figure this out," he said, his voice firm but full of warmth. "You’re not alone in this. Whatever happens, we’ll face it together."

"But what if something goes wrong?" she whispered. "What if I can’t—"

"Don’t," he interrupted, his thumb brushed away a tear that slipped down her cheek.

"Don’t think like that. You’re the strongest person I’ve ever met. You’ve survived so much. You’ll get through this too."

Eira leaned into his touch, her emotions threatened to overtake her. "I’m scared, Callian."

"I know," he said softly. "But I’m here. Always."

She closed her eyes, letting his words wash over her.

Despite the fear, despite the uncertainty, she felt a small hope.

"Callian," she murmured, opening her eyes to meet his. "Thank you."

"For what?" he asked, his brow furrowing.

"For believing in me," she said simply.

He smiled, pressing a kiss to her forehead. "Always, Eira. Always."

They sat there in the quiet of the hospital room, holding on to each other as the weight of their new reality settled over them.

A child.

A future.

And a fight worth everything.

Eira was ready to sacrifice anything to bring the baby into this world.

Allowing herself to die was no longer an option for her.

She wanted to live, not only for Callian right now, but also for the baby she had in her belly.

"Six weeks. Huh..." Callian smiled.

"Yes..."

"Do you think it could be from the time in the chur-"

"Stop it! Don’t say stuff like that."

"I’m sorry...but I’m just so happy, Eira...thank you..."

"For what?"

"For making me a father."
