Mated To The Demon Prince-Chapter 100: Mark

Everyone thought Xalith had woken up and fully recovered only to find him unconscious again.

Or did he ever wake up?

Was it an illusion they all collectively suffered from?

Today was when they were asked to return home for a break. Everyone returned to their individual castles and were expected to come back for training after a full week has passed. Xalith was sent back to his kingdom for fully recovery and Evangeline promised herself to keep in touch with him until he wakes up. Though, the mystery behind his brief recovery that had them all fooled...the kiss with the illusion of the demon prince...

Of Ree-ree lingered in her heart still. It troubled her a lot until she returned home and was welcomed warmly by her mother and aunt. Moreover, her cousins never gave her a breathing space. Trying to fill her in with all that happened in her absence in one night.

One fateful day, she woke up to find a strange mark growing under the sole of her left foot. At first, she would rather not put much heart on it until it grew bigger and more visible before midnight struck.

She raised her feet to show her mother out of concern which also baffled the queen Luna and promised her daughter to look into the meaning of the mark.

It was a pentagram inscribed in a circle and the drawing of a dark, crescent moon was inside the pentagram. It scared Eva a lot due to her little knowledge about pentagrams from her real world.

When you once lived in a setting where everyone feared or talk about how great the influence of some lizard humanoid beings are and are controlling the whole world...you would have one or two ideas of what a pentagram means and to know it is a symbol of witchcraft.

Who was currently performing witchcraft on her was what kept her all night as she feared for the worst that could happen to her if she foolishly gave it to sleep.

The next morning, it became horrifying to see that same mark on the bridge between her neck and her shoulder. Grandmother Supreme was begged to come over to the palace to tell them what was happening to the only surviving heir of the werewolf kingdom.

Everyone was gathered in the courtroom including a fearfully Evangeline the moment Grandmother supreme arrived. Eva felt anxious to have her in the same room with her but thankful she just regarded her with a blank look as she examined her body with the marks on some specific places which gave Grandmother supreme the highlight of what was happening.

It surprised her as she silently questioned just what crazy plan the moon goddess was working with and how this next move of her after giving them the god-slaying dagger was going to benefit them in any way.

She stared at her son who sat on his high throne along with his beautiful queen and mate. They were also staring back at her for answers. Then she turned to observe each living entity that has all gathered in the room to hear the outcome and meanings of the markings on the body of their future Alpha King.

Grandmother Supreme thought about it over and over again before she broke the bad news to everyone. She could hear clearly the fast beating hearts of most of the people in the room. Even the victim of the goddess’s plan has no idea of what lays ahead before her now with these strange markings on her body.

She should have stayed dead in her world and not let herself be deceived by the goddess of hope in a better world she governed over.

Grandmother supreme thought as she pity the girl.

She was curious to know what her story was and how she got caught up in this.

"What is it, mother? What’s the meaning of the markings on my daughter’s body?" Her son asked, and her heart broke the more as she thought of the best way to break it down for him so he could easily absorb the bad news.

Her son has gone through so much. Lost almost everything and his only hope and the pride of his kingdom...he lost it first without being aware of, and he was going to lose it completely again. She turned to stare at her worried daughter-in-law. The one after the goddess herself.

So beautiful and wise. Yet so sensitive when it comes to the matters of her children. She looked already paranoid and was already overthinking it even before she opened her lips to spill the beans.

"The goddess’s ways are always mysterious. She is unpredictable and sometimes selfish in her doings when her actions would only end up benefiting us, her wonderful creation."

The Alpha King leaned forward on his seat. His hands softly caressing his chin in thoughts.

"She does things that sometimes put us all in doubts of her genual but I want to encourage you all that no matter what, we should remain steadfast and unchanging of our faith, hope, and trust in her. She always has us in mind and everything would eventually work together for our good."

No one did as much as to cough or breathe as they tried to imagine how bad this news would be. What was happening and does this have to do with their future?

Grandmother supreme sighed deeply before taking hold of her granddaughter’s hands and pulling her closer until they were only inches apart.

"Congratulations, Evangeline." She began as gently as she could. "You’ve been given a second chance mate by the moon goddess."

Eva’s eyes widened in disbelief at such cruelty.

What?

Another mate to deal with?

What part of she is not interested in this awful match making system of theirs does the god of this world find hard to understand?

She is still just trying to recover from the great shock of Ree-ree being the dreaded demon prince of this world that she was destined to someday put an end to his reign.

Eva does not think she has the stomach to deal with another version of Alpha Jack of the Maddening Teeth pack again.
