Chapter 106: Regal

"Since the day you were born, you were meant to be this."

Eva stretched forth her hands sideways to allow the maids clustering over her like bees to a honey comb. They were trying to get the twelve feet long royal robe of the werewolf kingdom fixed perfectly on her shoulders. The hellish corset they used this time threatening to restrict all air movement in her soon and she felt like she would be too overwhelmed by all that’s happened and collapse.

Her father regally dressed stood before her to motivate her enough until she bore the weight of his crown he would be passing to her today. She was already twenty-three and had made herself believe she was a lone wolf that would soon be in-charge of millions of other wolves. It’s been five years since her death and transmigration into this strange world where Ree-ree terrorize each day.

It’s also been five years since they’ve experienced any further demonic attack from anywhere. One might be deceived the demon prince must have been secretly killed or something because it’s been deathly silent in the real of demons for too long now that she fears what’s going to spring up from it.

She would never forget his last words. It haunts her even if she was awake, and it’s worth trying to carry on with her life after successful rejecting two mates. One which was accidentally and something she was grateful for while the other was necessary and something she wasn’t yet sure if she wanted it.

She need not be selfish now and be sympathetic or try to love that monster, no matter who he was. She has to think of her people now. Evangeline’s life was already hers, and the deal was to live it as best as she could.

She was no longer Charlotte Winchester.

She died five years ago in the silly course of love and obsession.

She is now Evangeline of crimson ridge pack. They would be Alpha King in a few hours and the great slayer of demons, including the demon prince soon.

Her dead eyes fell on her father once again. It moved lifelessly around him as her lips parted slightly in subtle suffocation. Her coronation outfit was the most ridiculous, extravagant and the most suffocation. She looked sophisticated and unreal at the same time. Her multiple reflection in the nearby mirrors placed all around her scared her to the bone.

She stared down at her bruised palms due to five fucking long years of self-torture, extreme training and pain.

Now that she has grown up to be perfect and has adjusted fully to the workings of these strange world...she still hoped in the deepest part of herself if there was a way she could reverse back the hands of the clock until the first time she noticed the malevolent presence of Ree-ree in disguise of being good— she would have welcomed the advice of many people to get rid of him at that moment and not cling to him.

A sad tear rolled down her cheeks as she tried to keep it all in and not ruin this big day of hers.

He basically ruined her life one way or the other and whether she wishes to realize or not.

Baby Charlotte must have been a fool to cling so much to a presence she had no idea of and let him take control of everything while she was still vulnerable.

She would really wish to slay him right now if it was possible. She never imagined a day would come where she would hate him so much that she could die because of it again.

"Your soon-to-be husband, Xalith, would be so proud."

Yes, she agreed to wed Xalith because she had no choice and since it was said by many scholars and priests to be the best way to take care of the pain that comes with being a lone wolf. Not to talk of the fact that they love each other— well, everyone still wants to be deluded that she felt something strong for Xalith besides him being her friend.

Evangeline turned around the moment they were done to the largest, golden mirror behind her to have a full look of the results of the hours of effort.

She looked like an Irish queen from another world. A pure diamond necklace sat nicely around her neck. She wore matching ice blue gloves with her ball gown. The royal cape dusted with several jewels that would make her the shiniest creature that ever walked the earth. Her princess crown was heavy, talkless of how the crown of the Alpha King would be.

Constant headaches and a possible migraine for the rest of her existence was also not fair.

She swallowed back a sob and decided to push through on her wedding/coronation day. Hee father decided to have it both happen on the same day so they could progress to the next step of the plan.

"Evangeline?" Her father called softy behind her. She managed to move again without being strangled by the cape on tripping of balance by her long dress to face her father. "It’s time."

She placed one of her gloved hands in his as he drew her close and placed a fatherly long kiss on her forehead before saying, "The goddess is the most proud of you." He said with an insincere smile.

Someone really needs to have a one-on-one conversation with the god of this world and tell her it’s not cool to be a little psycho and a bitch to everyone. The amount of control she has on the Alpha King made her fear if she had been groomed as well to be her puppet.

The scammy moon goddess that’s full of so many shits.

Is it too late to screw everything by just running away, like she has been tempted to do since the beginning of her journey here?

"Let’s go,"

"Okay," she nodded and allowed her father to lead her to the very threshold of where her fate would be sealed like an office stamp and there would be no turning back.
