Mated To The Demon Prince-Chapter 108: You Dare
People, wise ones back in her world, often say you are likely to attract what you feared happening the most.
But this was something, an entrance she never thought he could pull out or capable of.
His mere presence was thrilling and close to nauseating. Her hands shaking involuntarily beside her, and she should have known or seen it coming that getting married to Xalith was too good to be true.
That five years of silence was the prequel of something much evil. Something no prophet could predict or see coming.
He killed her husband.
Eva gasped as she pulled back again in both shock and in horror. His dark and beautiful gaze regarding her without the smallest hint of remorse, which clarified how intentional this was.
She wanted to scream, break a rock or jump off from a roof as to why someone’s life had to be cut short because of her. This was a sin she was going to be sharing alongside him as long as she lived.
Xalith was her friend. An annoying, clingy one.
He became her husband just now and her life was just starting to be great from there until he said; no and acted on his deranged feelings.
Her eyes moved to the skin and bony remnants of her husband, and only God knows what he did to kill him so brutally. Still in the great state of shock, she turned to Ree-ree with tears building strongly in her eyes and asking him the reason for this.
The demon only regarded her still in a state void of emotion or sympathy until Darkness conjured up a chain that magically wrapped itself around her body, keeping her still. The end of the chain he twisted until it was firmly around his palms.
The ones bold enough to march up to her rescue, one dark look from him had them all flying across the room, colliding with the wall, pillars, and even being thrown out of the window to their death.
He was before her in a blink of an eye. Eva thought she could die as he got so close. His gaze burning hotly enough to scald the skin on her face.
"You..." he began and Eva choked on her sob in fear. "...Dare..." She tried wiggling herself out of the chains, but it appeared the more she moved, the tighter it became. "...do this to me, Charlotte."
She trembled the more as he tightened the hold he had on the chain, bringing her closer to him.
Those golden cuffed hands of his cupping both sides of her face as he towered over her and giving the full aura of whom he truly was. She no longer felt safe and secured around him anymore. All that was a lie, a trick to lure a prey he could ruin just like he is freely doing.
"I am so shocked by your sudden rebellion towards me that I could break your pretty neck. "
"N– no, no. Please. " A bloodied tear rolled down her cheeks as she closed her eyes in fear and pleaded shakingly before him.
Darkness tilted his head a bit to the side at her constant mumble of him to have mercy.
"So, what would have happened if I hadn’t invited myself? You would have gone on to belong to another?"
Evangeline forced her eyes open, more tears pooled out of her eyes as she shook her head quickly at him in response.
He growled, the earth beneath their feet rumbling in response.
It was one of those dark moments of her life. And she never thought there would be a scene in which Ree-ree was the author of it.
She has never feared or hated anything in her life at the moment.
He was indeed a monster, and she was the little dumb sheep that clung to his side pathetically and opened the doors easily for him to wreck her world apart.
"You wound me, Charlotte."
His hands slid from her face to hold on both sides of her hands. She wasn’t sure if he was aware that his acts daily just further increased her fear and hatred for him.
This was definitely the worse version of Ree-ree she had in mind.
She thought she was hallucinating when those beautiful angry eyes of him bled red through the blue and the slit in them became more pronounced as he drew her closer to himself.
"I can tolerate your rejection or your hatred for me. But you got it all wrong to think I would sit back and watch you throw yourself at anyone."
Eva’s body was trembling when he turned her around to look at what he had just done. Her entire family was either lying down on the floor unconscious and injured, or they were dead. It got more painful to see Xalith has become nothing more than dark-brown ash. There was nothing of him they could bury, which increased the level of how traumatizing all this was, and she somehow wished he would get so angry enough to end her life as well.
The scene before her was nauseating, but it wasn’t as nauseating as having his arms wrapped around her from behind, his face resting on the left side of her shoulder as he held her tight close to himself. She was shaking, trembling, but he was calm about this, as if he enjoyed having her in this state.
"You are not that special to me as them, my love. Don’t think I can’t destroy you like this if you keep provoking. You should know that whatever you do hurts me the most now, and what I hate the most is being hurt by anyone. So, if you continue with this little absurd stunt of yours, I can end you for my peace of mind."
Eva didn’t dare say a word to that. Her choked sobs echoed around the now quiet hall of her wedding.
"But before I kill you, you must suffer terribly first."
She stared down at her feet to see a deep, black home appearing. It gave her another jump scare at what other crazy thing he intended to do. She tried to turn to see his face for an explanation, but the world around her went blank like a light switch and all she remembered was someone calling her name.
