Mated To The Demon Prince-Chapter 39: Amazed
Everyone at school at the end of the day had something to say to how she made the Elf prince lose one of his teeth in training. Even her instructor had to commend her that she was growing stronger daily and the predictions about her since birth were likely to be true.
She waited for Layla and Sisi at the door of the school building, making sure she kept her head as low as possible when people walked past her and gave her curious glances left and right. Some even guessing if they should go and meet her and praise her for her nice display of strength in class. She was still yet to make any form of contact with the elf prince since she wickedly dislocated his jaw bone and forced out one of his teeth.
She remembered him standing to his feet after the incident and leaving before anybody could say anything to him.
Evangeline glanced over her shoulder and couldn’t help dismiss the feeling of being watched and followed from afar.
’’EVANGELINE!’’
She flinched at Layla’s loud voice coming from the top of the stairs, Sisi bouncing happily beside her. They both swept her off her feet in a blink as they had their hands around her body in a tight hug, squeezing her until she couldn’t breathe.
’’I heard you were amazing in your class today!’’ Layla said so loudly, her face beaming with excitement as they turned around to leave the school premises and head back home.
’’Yay, she was amazing today!’’ Sisi cheered.
Evangeline didn’t understand how news spread so fast without the presence of internet in this world. It felt like nobody needs to say anything and everyone would be duly informed about the little things that happen around her in this place. It also wasn’t clear how she managed to throw the Elf prince who has intimidated everyone in school by his capabilities on arrival several feet with just a punch.
Maybe the real owner of the body might be that strong—but definitely not her.
They fucking bullied her all throughout her life in school, and she was never strong enough to land the smallest punch to her oppressors. Many weird things has been happening to her since the day she died in her world. She did not know whether to be happy at her sudden surge of inhuman strength the God of this world decided to bless her with the moment she was up against a stronger opponent.
She had the highest assessment score in today’s test, which was a good thing.
Another thing that bothered her so much was her instructor’s comment to her on her performance.
He said her growing strength was expected and her destiny to be the Alpha King and slay the demon prince was likely to be true.
The feeling she got when he said this to her like it was common knowledge laid heavily in her chest.
She has a destiny and a purpose to fulfil in this world that they are all rooting for?
She thought this was her second chance to be loved, but not to be burdened with the responsibility of slaying the prince of demons and becoming the savior of the whole world.
It was strange knowing she came to this world to fulfil someone’s destiny. For all things that is sane, she has no idea who the Demon Prince was. It was scary to know she still had a lot to know about this world, and she had to make sense of it all without being too suspicious at the same time.
Layla and Sisi were still hurting her eardrums with exciting talks about her exploits as they strolled home. It was getting darker and the snow falling on them was getting heavier.
She paused in her tracks when Layla conjured up fire in her palms to light their path. Her eyes widen at the trick and had lost count of the multiple times this world has had her questioning how.
She just followed behind them and wondered if she would ever get burned by it. Her eyes glued on the flame of fire in her palms in wonder, almost tripping multiple times as she wasn’t paying attention to her path.
That is the work of a primordial energy running through the bloodlines of all wolves of the ruling pack.
The entity in her head suddenly explained, unraveling the mystery behind this sorcery.
What?
She found herself asking the entity in her head.
It is a sacred form of energy that had been preserved in all royal bloodlines of the werewolf community. It was given to us by the moon goddess herself.
Wow.
Evangeline was amazed. Not only could they shape shift into the form and manner of a wolf, but they could do magic as well. Well, Evangeline didn’t really want to believe what Layla did was all a magic trick. The weird energy flowing in them can be accessed and bent into physical energy forms like fire for example.
Who knew werewolves could actually be this interesting? 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
Our friends have the primordial energy of fire just like mom and some others. Father has lightning and Zayne has air. A lot of our family could bend air and fire, and only a small number has their energy to bend water into ice and control it as they wish.
That’s cool. What’s mine?
She found herself getting excited at the prospect of her being able to do fire like how Layla did or control the wind with the energy flowing through her veins. It could even be the ability to bend water and create little ice pops. She could finally be like one of those characters in the popular anime;the avatar!
When the entity was not doing anything to add to her excitement by just being silent...
Hey, are you still with me?
Of course, I am. I am always with you. I am your wolf.
Her eyes widened, but she would come to address that later.
What’s mine?
She found herself asking again.
We don’t have one.
