Mated To The Demon Prince-Chapter 51: Many Names
’’No one knows how he came to be or has seen how he looked or come to understand why he devours everything that represents life in his path. We’ve only heard frightening stories of him, an enigma that chooses the path of chaos and leading millions of degenerates astray and to Hell.’’
Evangeline listened, noting everything about the feared beast of this world and sharing in the hate. It was a good thing she came, and now she understands why everyone wanted to burn him so badly to the ground. But she fears a simple beheading or burning him to the ground can’t be enough to redeem him of his transgressions.
’’The stories I remember clearly of this oppressor describes him as the destroyer, a devouring lion, a vessel of sin, bringer of pain and misery itself. The prince of death. A devil...’’
’’Satan...’’
’’What?’’
Evangeline stiffened and shook her head that what she said meant nothing. Though the Alpha King swore she made mention of a very strange word he hasn’t heard from anyone before.
Satan should also be added to the growing list of bad names. The name best describes him the most. An evil being that preys on the innocent.
’’No one really knows his name so he has different names...’’ The Alpha King rose to his feet along with Evangeline, little specks of snow falling off their body in the process.
’’While many people feels more comfortable calling him the Demon Prince, I believe that if he indeed has a name it wouldn’t be a good one.’’
The girl nodded beside him as she drew her large winter coat around her body. One of the moon guards finally comes to take care of the body of the deceased child before them.
’’There is no valid reason or excuse for what he’s done.’’
She heard her father say angrily beside her while the moon guards lifted the body of the poor girl.
’’The monster has lost all form of shame by doing this.’’
She moved to face him the moment he turned to her, placing both of his hands on her shoulder.
’’Evangeline promise me that you would always do the right thing no matter what. Believe strongly that not all sins can be forgiven or forgotten. Even the smallest of sins can make a whole generation turn against you. Promise me that you would be merciful as well as merciless. Loving and knowing when to stop loving. Be kind only to those that deserve it. And the lives of the people resting on your shoulders would only come first in your life as well as their welfare.’’
She didn’t know what to say but allowed her eyes to be caught up with the loving hands on her shoulder. The single, smallest yet significant sign of fatherly affection she has gotten in all of her years of existing. It caused a stir in her heart and the urge to make him proud was burning like a fire all over her body.
It moved her in many ways she couldn’t put to words to describe. It brought strange tears to the corner of her eyes. She never thought of a life where she gets to feel and experience true parental love and guidance would happen to her.
Where her mother wouldn’t try to convince her that she was insane, and her father never had her time.
Moreover, the love her parents in this world have for each other was genuine and special.
Is this real?
She thought.
Can she get to have this life as hers forever?
The thought had her lips parting in shock as she stood, staring at him like a dummy.
’’I...promise.’’ She said not wanting to be that person who thinks too deeply into something. Her feet moved in the snow when her father’s eyes flashed with pride and slowly drew her in his warm embrace.
A soft sigh left her at the feeling of being embraced this way by someone who was her father in this world. And he wasn’t just anybody but a powerful king of wolves and other shape shifters like her. The tears streamed down her face like a slow-moving stream when he placed a small kiss on top of her head.
She could tell Zayne and her other top haters were wishing her death as their father barely acknowledges them.
’’I can tell my princess would make a good king. And I am always proud of you until the end of the moon.’’
It was much warmer than she imagined being embraced by one’s father, and she would like to stay like this forever.
’’When you are ready to lead your wolves and face him, just know I will be right there fighting proud by your side.’’
She has never been this encouraged to prepare herself and practice how she was going to behead that terrorist of a demon.
If only Ree-ree was listening by her side, she would have asked for his final thoughts about this. Whether she should stay or find a way to return to her pitiable life back on earth. He would have been happy to see she was getting to have a real family that treats her like a rare jewel they would rather not see a single scratch on and like a god that was destined to change the world.
She was going to change the world. Very soon.
Evangeline let her eyes fall close as she leaned more to his touch. This could all be one nasty dream and when she wakes up, she could end up being sad and fatherless again.
But before that happens...
’’I will do my best,’’ she said softly, earning approval from the Alpha King.
She planned to enjoy every good thing that comes with it as well as going with the flow and trying not to get caught.
After a while, he pulled her from him to stare down at her with a smile.
"We would return once all the bodies have been accounted for."
Evangeline nodded and watched her father leave her side to observe how his wolf guards were disposing the bodies of the victim.
The Demon Prince was going to pay a heavy price for his sins.
