’’You are favored by her, Eva. And we have never been more proud of you. It gives us the confidence that you are the one who is going to stop his wicked reign.’’

Evangeline has lost count of the number of times she’d had to sigh. Probably this is all just one elaborate plan by Ira to prove something to the people that she is indeed the one capable of beheading that monster.

But one thing was for sure, and if they want her to go on with this. She was not getting mated to Alpha Jack and wants to be far away from him as possible.

’’Also, we’ve always wanted to ask why you rejected Alpha Jack when you have always portrayed him as the true love of your life. You fell in love with him even before you knew you were mates, Eva. What went wrong?’’

He pursued me like a headless chicken and made my first night in this world the worst. He tried to frame me in front of everyone for having a demonic lover. Also, that he is a certified liar, bully, controlling and greedy freak who has an unhealthy obsession of using me until I was nothing. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞

A lot went wrong and has been from the beginning.

’’I...fell out of love for him.’’

They stared at her like she did not know what she was saying. Based on what she’d seen on Evangeline’s memories, it was certain she never loved him but was being controlled. How that even happened, she was yet to figure it out.

’’Whatever. I am happy here and being with you both. We have more time to bond and love each other without anyone coming in-between. ’’

She reached out to hold their hands and draw them close to herself. The only way for them to drop the topic and stop bothering her about her mate. There were bigger things to face than that.

’’If I have offended the moon goddess with what I have done, my sincere apology. But my happiness and comfort comes first, and I am the most happy and comfortable when I am with you two.’’

Both Layla and Sisi blushed and hugged her tight. They remained like this and decided to leave when it began to snow.

The next day at school was just like any other day. They had their general classes with the Delta and each went to their selective course. As usual, the Elf Prince clung to her side, and it was raising many side talks.

He was aware of everything that happened to her from her coughs to her sneeze. His eyes fixed on her and was the one to pull out things to help with wiping her nose or mouth. At first, it was annoying, but the day she thanked him for the gift he gave her which was more than just a spherical shaped jewel that glows with light. He leaned close to give her a small peck on her cheek.

Throughout that day, she couldn’t understand what she should make of that kiss. Although she has been trying to convince herself that it is nothing but a friendly kiss—his behavior towards her recently says otherwise.

There was more to his friendliness and sudden attachment to her.

Her heart and hormones were not helping matters! One gorgeous look from him would have her pale cheeks flushing red and her heart racing. It got to a point of not being able to maintain proper eye contact with him...because she sometimes...feels...shy?

Every test they had, he was always picking her so they could wrestle—not that he has ever landed a single blow on her ever, all thanks to that kind spirit of strength. He wouldn’t hide his displeasure when he did not get to pick her first, and it has all been dramatic and too emotional in a way.

The way he looked at her at times even though he was one hundred and one percent sure she knows scared her in many ways. She would turn to look at him, and he would just smile and push a strand of her hair covering her face.

She was the only person he talked to and no matter how hard she tried avoiding a situation where they would have to talk alone—Prince Xalith would always find a way. It was like he grew obsessed about her overnight.

’’Go out with me, tonight.’’

The strap of her bag trembled along with her fingers as Layla and Sisi had their mouths falling in shock behind her.

She stood there with a terrified look. It wasn’t something she would never expect anyone asking her.

The subtle yet arrogant look on his face dared her in a way to say no, and Evangeline has never been this conflicted on how to get rid of situations like this. Her heart was literary pounding hard and fast in her chest as she stared at his pretty face dumbstruck.

’’What?’’ She finally found her voice with her cheeks reddening on its own.

He moved close until it was only a few inches away from them.

’’Go out with me, Your Highness.’’ He said in the softest voice, and she swore she didn’t mean to smile, but it appears her whole body was currently rebelling against her.

She gulped when his smile light up his flawless face at her reaction.

In all her many years of existing, in this life and in her previous one, no man has ever asked her out so sweetly like this. It was her first time, and she didn’t know how to handle it best. She didn’t even think it was possible to be in this situation.

’’There is this world I wish to visit with you.’’
