Mated To The Demon Prince-Chapter 90: Dismissed
The first week of training started with Khayan training them on how to move a sword better with their less dominant hand.
’’What if your dominant hand or finger gets chopped off or eaten by a demon during battle? What do you do? Give up because you can’t use both sides of your body to fight back? Or you surprise the enemy by picking up the sword with your other hand?’’ he asked and moved in-between them.
He watched them struggle to balance the weight of the sword on their left hand. Evangeline had never thought a day would come where she would have to plead with her right hand to be more useful. Khayan has never stopped judging her with his deformed looks her way at every side glance he gives her.
It was terrifying to be considered weak or abnormal just because your brain leaned more to the right side, and you turned out to be a lefties.
Getting familiar with various kinds of weapons was the highlight of the week and so far, they have all been doing terribly and excellent at making Khayan to shake his head at them multiple times in displeasure.
’’Ah!’’ Eva avoided being sliced into half when the sword flew from her hands as she was trying out one of the moves he showed them to practice on. Her panic had everyone pausing to stare at who was rumored to be the best in areas like this confused.
’’Your Highness, are you alright?’’ Prince Xalith was by her side in a blink, holding both of her hands to see if she was hurt. Eva ignored him with her eyes still rooted on her sword that seemed to weigh more than she could handle. Not that she was a weak, fragile little thing...but come on! How was she supposed to be a total sword wielding badass princess over a little transmigration?
If it were to be guns they were working with, she could try, but not this.
’’I’m fine...’’ She whispered to the concerned prince beside her before slowly withdrawing her hands from him. Khayan was the next to approach her. She raised her head a bit to match his gaze and gulped at the look he gave her.
I am the most disappointed in you—it said all over him. She tried to buy her way out with a sheepish smile, but it didn’t work on Khayan.
’’Pick it up, now.’’
Xalith went back to where he was as they all watched Evangeline pick up her sword from the pile of snow beneath her feet. Her hands shaking as she wrapped both hands around the cold handle, heavy puffs of cold vapor leaving her nostrils and lips the more her nervousness grew, and she tried to keep it together.
’’You are the first person I am seeing in this world that leans more to their left.’’
Eva swallowed.
Great.
It wouldn’t take a genius to know she is not the real deal now.
’’Only devils are known for relying more on their left.’’
His words not only cut deep into her bones but moved the rest of her mates as well. They all looked at the instructor with a widened and disbelieving gaze as he said that to the Alpha’s King’s daughter without a drop of remorse.
Eva didn’t know how she was supposed to respond but stared back at him in shock.
’’I don’t see it in you to free us from this mess of the demon prince. And I knew all along that the stories about you being strong, capable and extraordinary were all just rumors your family cooked up to make you feel special when you are just basic.’’
Andrea’s frown deepened at the instructor. She felt the most triggered by his words, as her vampire claws began to awaken and pull out from their sleep.
Fuck being respectful.
They were going to teach this bastard a hard lesson if he doesn’t shut his bruised lips.
’’Why don’t you return home to coddle up behind your all-powerful dad and do what all princesses do all day rather than being useful? And let us with more experience and strength take care of the demon troubles.’’
Andrea scoffed behind Eva and Prince Xalith grabbing everyone’s attention.
’’Funny how you underestimate what us princesses could do. All I need is to write a single, sweet and perfumed letter with a drop of your blood to my father telling him stories of how you’ve been provoking me since I’ve got here. I will add sweetly at the bottom how I think you being nailed to a vampire’s cross up-side down with three hundred and forty-six seven feet long venomous nails at every inch of your broken, bruised and diseased body is a befitting punishment. Your manhood wouldn’t be excluded from the torture.
I can send you to places that you belong to if I agree to wave properly and be beautiful at all times. Evangeline, I and the rest of us could decide to make your life a living hell if we cry before the Alpha King saying we think being their children who gave us the title of being called princes and princesses equals being useless according to you,’’ She ended by nodding at him.
Khayan didn’t say anything but continued to be buried under Andrea’s blood-red eyes.
’’We could get you killed right now for using all your words against you. Imagine what your world would be like if I should tell the queen Luna that you think her child is useless just because she is a princess? And that her body leans more to the left, so she is automatically a weakling?’’
Khayan stared at the vampire with an expression he has never shown on his face before.
’’It’s overwhelming, isn’t it? What we could do as heirs than a broken, prideful, lonely, right-handed soldier can dream of achieving?’’
Khayan’s jaw muscles spasmed as everyone stared between him and the angered Vampire heiress. Eva wondered why she was so defensive when it was her who was being talked down on by their teacher.
An eerie silence followed her words as a pretty intense staring contest issued between them both. None refused to back down.
Andrea then looked genuinely scary when she was like this. Could it be because she is a vampire or some sort of pure blood?
’’Class...dismissed.’’ Khayan said before being the first to leave them all in the raining snow.
