Mated To The Demon Prince-Chapter 98: God-Slaying Dagger

Your granddaughter’s soul is being preserved by me in the ice prison. I am going to have it destroyed soon to avoid any future disturbances in my way. The human I brought from her world to this place would carry on from wherever your granddaughter stopped, and she would be my new weapon against the demon prince.

Grandmother supreme tried to be strong when the voice of the goddess continued to speak with her in a way unlike anyone she has been used to. Her hands shaking by her side to know that her real granddaughter was alive somewhere, trapped, and she has been lied too deeply by the moon goddess. Now, it would be destroyed by the moon goddess herself, like she has always thought was the case. They were going to be loosing Evangeline forever.

Words couldn’t describe how she felt. She sat before the moon temple with tears rolling down her cheeks as she awaited the arrival of her son. It was already sunset when he reached her place and was baffled by the state he found her in.

The Alpha King stood before his mother who wouldn’t stop crying like she had just been heartbroken.

Could it be because of her precious fence that was destroyed that would have her sit here all day with tears flowing down her cheek non-stop?

But he has already promised her to have it rebuilt as soon as the ongoing holiday was over. The Alpha king took a brief glance at her beloved temple she has been working so hard—day and night to have it restored back to its original state. He took the seat next to his mother on the top stairs that led to the moon temple with a soft tired sigh.

’’You know it is not fair when you keep doing this to us, mother. People have come here to check on you countless times only to report back to me that you are either overworking yourself or crying for hours non-stop. Even if you couldn’t tell people what happened, at least you should be able to confide in your son—’’

’’It was the demon prince.’’

A heart stopping sensation overtook the Alpha King as he stared at his mom in horror. The woman only nodded at him that she wasn’t telling a lie.

’’He came here in anger, destroyed my fence and was blasphemous with my temple.’’

He was on his feet, pulling his mother along to check if there was any bodily harm done to her that they have been missing all this while.

’’Don’t bother. I am fine. He only came to let out a tantrum about something I did and not to hurt me.’’

The Alpha King was so confused that he wished to understand everything at once.

’’What you did?’’ The woman didn’t say anything but turned her face away from her son in shame. ’’Mother what did you do to have the demon prince himself involved in this?’’

It was also scary to know that one of his own has seen and interacted with this so-called enemy of this plane.

She slowly turned to her son to look him straight in the eye and lied, ’’I kidnapped and killed one of his demons trying to sneak into Astoria. What I did not know was that the demon I murdered was his closest ally.’’

It wasn’t the best lie in the world, but it was a good diversion from the truth. The Alpha King just stared at his mother with a thousand and one expression written all over his face. The woman then brought out the knife she received from the goddess herself earlier today and placed it gently in the palm of his hands.

He stared at the blade in more confusion. ’’What is this, mother?’’

’’A dagger I received from the moon goddess herself this morning. That is our only hope in slaying the enemy.’’

’’What?’’

Grandmother supreme nodded her head and encouraged her son to have more faith in the goddess.

’’She will guide you on what to do after this. How to kill this demon prince with this dagger. It will all be given to you as long as your faith in her remains strong as it used to be.’’

The Alpha king examined the weird dagger in his palms before nodding at his mother in understanding.

Grandmother supreme sniffed as more tears began to well up in her eyes in pity for her son. She was just a child in the world she hailed from when she was taken by the moon goddess at the point of death and forced to live in this body a long time ago. She has already lost one of her sons to this enemy, most of her grandchildren had perished because of this long, raging war between them and the demons. The ones surving, the one she cared about the most would be destroyed soon by the goddess at soul level and would forever be replaced by a stranger.

Suddenly, her legs felt very weak and her heart ached the most in pity at her only son. The one she abandoned to take her place as the Alpha King at an early age without looking back. How he still had it in him to still love and respect her was a miracle on its own.

’’Have someone bring back Evangeline home for a while. She has been training in that place long and hard enough. At least to reconnect with her family again just for this holiday.’’

The Alpha King nodded that it was something he could make happen. He could call all of them back to his castle for a break since the beginning of their training before sending all of them back. He spent more time with his mother, even assisting her in cleaning her precious temple and helping her as much as he could before be returned home.

That evening a meeting with his elders, pack leaders including Alphas in all of Astoria and other important figures and leaders in this realm was held as he revealed to them the secret weapon to slay the demon prince which he renamed as the God-slaying dagger. He told them it was hand-given to him by his mother, who received such weapon from the moon goddess herself.

He had some scientist and magicians—particularly the witches examine the God-slaying dagger. The results of their examination were outstanding as well as hopeful. The blade was inscribed with languages and symbols that say death without no hope of living again. Once slayed, there would be no hope of rebirth and the person can never be freed or healed from the curse.

It was also spoiled with a lot of dark and divine essence. Thence, the gold and dark-red threads neatly wrapped around the bottom.

’’This is it, King Alpha. Our thousand-year questions had been answered. Can the destroyer ever be slain?’’

’’Our prayers has been answered, and we must make wise use of this opportunity the goddess has given us.’’

The Alpha King only nodded his head. He turned to his mate, who sat quietly and lost by his side. He also wanted to hear her opinion concerning this. He gently reached for her hands, which snapped her out of her thoughts. She turned to her mate, who questioned her absentmindedness with a look.

’’She has decided to get herself involved in this after we’ve lost so much?’’

The silence that occurred after that was intense.

’’What kind of God intervenes in the suffering of her creation when she wants to and not when she needed to be present for us?’’

No one could say anything to that. Especially when she was speaking the mind of everyone.

’’We’ve been abandoned for so long and abused severely by this enemy for me to feel grateful for her concern now.’’

Everyone watched as the queen Luna rose to her feet to leave the courtroom, as she was no longer interested in any of this.

’’I don’t even feel resentful towards her. All I could say is that she is a much worse, terrible mother than I am.’’ She left without sparing anyone a glance. The silence she started lingering even after she left.
