Chapter 97: One And Everything

The tears that flowed freely down her cheeks, the way her upper teeth bit down hard on her lower lip was not fueled by the relief you get when you’ve finally found the one you’ve been searching for all your life. Both past and present.

Especially when this person was the only love you knew at your lowest and the one you smiled with at your highest. The one you wanted to die for to be with.

The one you loved and craved every night to see a bit of how he looks like.

What was he?

And if he was like the prince charming he once made you believe he was.

The one you convinced yourself over and over again you couldn’t live without.

Your one and everything.

The one the whole world called crazy for believing in his existence. The one you were ready to stand with and be against everything should the worst come to worst.

A tear slipped out of her left eye and made a heartbreaking journey down the side of her face.

The love of your life.

She bit down harder on her lips as she clenched both of her hands into tight fist.

He was there with her on the very first day.

He had been so closer than she imagined.

He had even touched her.

Threatened her countless times.

And made her feared him even before she laid eyes on him.

A disbelieving gasp broke out of her trembling lips as the tears wouldn’t stop gushing out of her eyes. Her hands fisting around the sides of her cloth as she tried to swallow it all down.

He has been here all along. By her side.

She moved to his universe shortly after her death to learn the dark truth about her perfect, innocent and faithful lover. To know him as the terror in his home. This time she was the stranger in his strange universe. The role has been reversed but in the worst place ever. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

How...

More tears came as the wound in her heart bleed more.

How is he...

She found it difficult to believe and hope this was just all a big misunderstanding. But she could never fail to catch how he answered to the name she called out to than just turning around to understand what she meant by the word; Ree-ree.

Evangeline could die at this point and not regret anything.

In fact, the shock was too much for her to bear that she wished to fall and drop-dead and forget everything. She wasn’t even motivated to return to her old life. There was no point in that again.

She foolishly fell deeply in-love with a monster from another world. She let him take ownership of her life and let herself fall to his charms. She made him the god of her life she couldn’t live without and endured so much in her old life and even now, because of him.

She couldn’t even believe that living this life mean she has to fulfil her destiny of beheading him one day.

That thought alone made her nauseous wondering what she must have done to deserve this.

’’Evangeline!’’

Eva turned to meet with Andrea approaching her as fast as she could with a lamp in her arms. The more she gazed at the vampire the harder she cried at how unfair she was. How her feelings have been cruelly played and tossed with like it was nothing.

A poor, pathetic clingy lonely human he must have viewed her as before walking into her life with a storm and to take advantage of it.

How desperate was she like to him when she believed he loved her too and cared for her the way she was.

’’Eva, what happened to you? Why are you standing here all alone and sobbing your eyes out?’’

All alone?

She turned to see he had vanished again but this time she didn’t long or want to plead with him to return. She welcomed the vampire’s embrace and sobbed painfully on her.

It was a new feeling. To truly want to be away from him.

How would her life be from now on after knowing the truth?

She should have listened when countless people warned her to get rid of him before it got worse.

Now her regrets of being overly attached to him was nothing more than bitter pills she would have to swallow for the rest of her life in this world.

’’Hey, hey, hey. What’s wrong? Did something bad happen? You are burning up. Are you okay?’’

Eva shook her head and thought it would be useless trying to explain her predicament to someone who hasn’t been there since the beginning. She sobbed harder and louder scaring the Vampire a lot as her eyes reddened with mucus trailing down her nose.

It must have been so terrible.

Whatever it was to say it all with just mere words.

Andrea nodded her head at her as if in understanding before pulling her close to wrap her in the warmest hug she could give.

’’It’s alright, stop crying. Everything would be fine. I promise.’’

Eva doubted if everything would be less normal to her as from this night onward.

The next morning, Grandmother supreme stepped out from her house with a fresh bowl of water and rags as she head over to her moon temple to continue with her task of cleaning every form of infirmities before she had it purified and holy again.

Her son has promised to have her fence rebuilt soon which she tried to stop him from doing multiple times but being a very stubborn pup of hers he made up his mind to have it rebuilt.

Grandmother supreme planed to leave the fence as it is now as a sign to the goddess that this attack on her sacred moon temple in her compound was intentional.

She climbed the few steps leading to the main area and paused at the strange object placed on a moon shaped cushion lying across the wide space of the moon temple. She paused before it confused at who must have dared stepped into her home again after everything to place a dagger in her temple she has been struggling to restore it back to how it was before.

Could this mean war?

Or what is this?

She slowly picked up the dagger to notice the strange markings and symbols at both sides and edges of its blade. The handle tangled neatly in gold and dark-red threads. She tried to make sense of this until she was forced into a state where a message was passed to her.

It’s time you save my universe just like how I saved yours, brought you here to live, gave you a body to dwell in and a new life to make sense of. I am trusting you with our only hope of getting rid of the oppressor of my world and the enemy over my creation. Take it and give it to the Alpha King, your son. I will guide him on what to do from there. Tell my children that I have heard their countless prayers and their thousand years of endless weeping and suffering haven’t passed by me unnoticed. Tell them I have now decided to participate in this raging war against the enemy and I would not rest until the enemy is put to shame and not heard of anymore.

Moreover, tell them I love them enough to do this.
